Golden Nails And Spa

I was in town for the weekend visiting a friend, we wanted to get mani’s & pedi’s. We searched Unilocal for a good place, this one had a couple not so good reviews about the older gentleman who does nails so we were reluctant to book but everywhere else was too busy so we took our chances. Immediately upon entering there was a ghastly odor, one that my senses never adjusted to the entire hour and a half we were there. Of course I got stuck with the older dude to do my pedi. He surprisingly did quite well minus the language barrier. Read the fine print on the service menu. I thought I was getting a pedi with a paraffin dip & sea salt scrub but it was a choice of one or the other. I did not get a choice. I was given the scrub. I wanted the paraffin. My friend wanted vice versa so when we both looked at each other puzzled the men doing our feet explained it was either or. Um ok, then ask me what I would prefer instead of assume! I had my manicure done by a different person whom I had to ask a couple times if they could paint some edges on my nails that they missed. I got my nails done Saturday and now by Tues. all the paint has rubbed off the edges of my nails. I could have done a better job myself. Won’t be returning or recommending to anyone. Too expensive for a paint job to last only a couple days.

I was impressed when I first started going here. My last pedi the older man cut my toenails too short, into the quick. I told him of the pain and he appeared to not understand, I had to repeatedly tell him not to cut them so short. The other ladies working here couldn’t understand what I was talking about. Funny thing, they could understand when I talked with these same people earlier in this same visit while I was getting my nails filled before my pedi! I was in pain until my quick healed, about 10 days. I will NOT be returning!

Great place, very efficient, very clean. Excellent service with a smile. Only criticism is that they couldn’t do my friend’s mani at the pedi station and made her walk on her freshly groomed feet to the mani station across the store. And I’ve never been a fan of the «please pay before I put polish on you».I know they think they’re doing you a favor because you don’t risk your nails rummaging in your wallet for money. I always wonder if they try less hard to do an excellent job once they know they’ve been paid.

I always have the worst luck with getting my nails done, they NEVER come out how I ask and are never even. I have even gone to a celebrity manicurist that charged me $ 75, and those turned out terrible, with uneven lines on every single nail, and the nail polish didn’t even reach the edges of my nails, it was awful. So being fed up, the next time I got my nails done, I decided to try a cheaper place, thinking it couldn’t be any worse than it already was.
Well, I was super impressed by the nail tech, Trish, that did my nails. I brought a picture in asking her to recreate it, and she did almost exactly. She took her time and filed my nails so perfectly. I definetly plan on going back for a fill and it might become my go to nail place.

Can’t give five stars, because I made an appointment and still had to wait for 30+ minutes to get my pedicure started. That wasn’t cool.
But otherwise, the experience was excellent. Language barrier is a little tough at times, but I walked out very happy with the job they did on my feet/​nails.

YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR
Had an older gentlemen do my nails, took over an hour for a pink fill, they were left uneven and wavy and thick after he drilled them.
He argued with me when i asked for a clear gel coat he wanted to just buff them out. Now I know why, had to go home and fix them myself so they looked half way decent. Will not be back. Paid 23.00 for fill is cheap but not worth the work that was performed.

I love this place. Every one is super friendly and doing their best to keep up with the constant flood of people coming in. They are crazy busy and way understaffed, so even if you make an appt you’ll wait for a little bit, but for what it is and for the price it’s a great deal. It’s not some high end salon so things are a little disorganized and some of the staff do better work than others but I go back every few weeks for my fill. If you’re flexible with your time you won’t have to wait and you’ll get one of their better people. I wouldn’t go if you’re wanting some fancy design, but for basic manicures & pedicures they are great!

I love Golden Nails and Spa! I have been getting my nails done for years and been to many different salons and this is by far my favorite. They are very reliable and consistent. I usually have a picture of what I want and they always get it exactly right! I am getting married next weekend and my bridal nails turned out perfect! I’m obsessed with them. I would recommend Golden Nail and Spa to anyone!

Not a good experience at all. First, I had an appointment for 6, didn’t get started until 620. Then, the man who did my toes was very slow and did VERY sloppy work. I’m leaving on vacation and considering redoing my toes myself. Then they charged me 29 for a very basic pedicure. PLUS, I had made the appointment for a fill in, too, but they seemed utterly confused when I asked them about it. They were now closing so I am off on vacation with home done nails. Although in retrospect I may very well do a better job than they could have.

Neither the best nor the worst pedi of my life. Nice atmosphere: clean and aesthetically appealing; pretty thorough work on my cuticles; strangely, the polish doesn’t seem to go all the way to the bottom and side edges of my toenails – we’ll see how it comes out over time. Overall we basically had a good experience; our toes looked great initially.
Don’t bother making an appointment. The biggest down side was: although we’d reserved a time, my friend waited 30 min anyway & I waited an hour. When I was finally attended, my pedicurist was apologetic and attentive; she gave me a very nice foot and leg massage. She also gave me three coats of polish, which makes me wonder if it has been diluted – again the truth will come with time. The salon doesn’t seem to have any drying stations, so our topcoat wasn’t ‘fixed’ and I wonder how long they’ll hold up. Also, my usual place puts my flip-​flops on before applying the polish so that there’s no concern about nicking the surface – Golden Nails didn’t and clearly weren’t so adept at manipulating my footwear.
Came here after my pedi from French Nails & Spa didn’t last so well; am overall pleased with Golden Nails — now the test will be whether the polish lasts. If it does, I’ll gladly bump my rating up to four.
UPDATE: Two weeks in, and my nails look like they need to be redone (my place at home lasts a month). Since the polish didn’t go *quite* to the edges of my toes, it looks positively shabby now. Review stays at 3 stars; my search for a Eugene pedicurist continues…

Got a gel maicure. It was just ok. The girl seemed very confused when I asked if she could do a small polka dot on each nail. When she finally did it, it was not centered, so she had to put 2 additional dots on each nail to even out the look I guess.
The mani only lasted about 1 ½ weeks before it started chipping and lifting in the cuticle area. I’m used to almost 3 weeks between appointments from my last place on California. Oh well.

Worst service I have ever received. They do not greet you when you enter, they are completely disorganized and lack any form of communication.
I sat waiting for a pedicure for 30 minutes past my appointment time and had to ask when I would be helped several times. It is not worth your time or money to come here.

Great value for the money! I had a full set of acrylics here and they did a great job! Today it is time to get ready for sanders with a pedicure. The price for pedicures is 25,30,35, and 40 for a variety of different kinds.

8 days later and my nails still look as perfect as the day they were done! Important factor– I work in healthcare and wash my hands A LOT! So impressed with the quality of this gel manicure!

I moved to the Eugene area about 2 years ago from Portland. I tried a few different places around town but by far this is my favorite place to go. The place is clean and the people are all friendly. I always forget to make an appointment but they are always willing to fit me in. I hate being that customer that comes in near closing time but there have been a few occasions that they have stayed past 7PM to get my mani/​pedi done. I always feel welcomed in there and they don’t even mind me bring in my pup when it’s not busy. They are great. I would recommend this place to others.

I just recently moved here and searched for a new salon. I trusted the previous reviews and decided to go in for a backfill and an eyebrow wax. My nails came out terrible. The nails are not shaped correctly, are uneven in length, and one nail has begun growing fungus under it. My eyebrows were barely cleaned up but not shaped. Horribly disappointed in the experience and will not return. Gave them a 2 star because they were pleasant.

Being from New York I am very picky on my nail salons since they are a dime a dozen over there. You can get a mani pedi for 15 bucks.
When I came to Eugene a little over a year ago I realized that would never happen. I went to a couple different places around town but they weren’t very good and I couldn’t justify paying $ 20-​$ 45 just for a pedicure.
Well low and behold after a year I have finally found the nail place for me.
All it took was getting use to the varying prices from each coast.
Whenever I am in need of a pedicure I just call up golden nails and a majority of the time they have same day appointments which is very convenient.
They are also very friendly on the phone and in person.
When I have an appointment, I have never waited over 5 minutes to be seated.
They have a large selection of colors to choose from. Of course I always go with O.P.I because I just love some of their colors (big apple red, is currently on my toes)
Some of the pedicurists are better than others and once in a while you may not get such a good one. The younger gentleman who work there are quite good.
I also have received multiple gel manicures from them, all of which I loved and they lasted forever without chipping or peeling.
And just a reminder in Oregon they can’t reuse the files and scrubbers so if you don’t have, then you have to pay 2 bucks. But, make sure you remember it the next time you go! I am now the proud owner of 3 because I can never remember the baggy of stuff.
Overall if you are looking for a nail salon, Golden Nails is your best bet unless you enjoy cold water pedicures and in that case you can go to the nail place down the road.

I stopped here on vacation without an appointment because my nails looked scary bad. I was meeting some people for the first time and didn’t wanna look like a weirdo with my gel all chipping off. I was with my daughter who is 19. The woman who removed our old gel didn’t know english and totally buffed her fingers before applying the acetone (minus 1 star). So putting acetone on an open wound wasn’t a great idea.
Anyways, I didn’t get his name, but he guy who did my nails was SUPER nice and easy to talk to. He also did a great job on my nails, and gave me some vacation tips since he was familiar with the area. Its been a week and a half and my gel polish is still holding strong. My last gel polish was totally chipping by a week and a half! I paid $ 25 which I thought was a good price since the last place I went was $ 35! The place was clean and they had a decent amount of polish colors. If I lived in the area I would definitely be back.

I just moved here and decided to try this nail salon. I asked VIC to give me a bunny for Easter. I love it! She was very friendly and shared some information about tipping in Oregon. The place is clean and reasonably priced. Thumbs up!!!

My fiancé and I have been here two or three times now and have enjoyed the experience every time. Though new to the area, this spa has an experienced staff that does a great pedi (for me) and mani for the fiancé. By far our favorite nail and spa place in the Eugene area.
They can get busy on the weekend so don’t forget to call ahead and make an appointment.
