Best Hawaiian grub you will find without taking a 5 hour plane ride. Mac salad was off the chart, meat was tender, and great quality. I wish there was one of these near me. The local Hawaiian chains don’t cut it. They aren’t even playing in the same zip code as Hawaiian Time!

Very rude person at register, yelling and screaming at this old couple. We paid $ 23 for 2 lunch menus and less meat in it. Not worth try…

Really disappointing that even when both ‘Open’ signs are on and hours are posted until 10pm on Unilocal that all doors are locked at 9:00pm and workers inside do not acknowledge your presence to say, «sorry, we’re actually closed». On top of that, I proceeded to go to the drive-thru because the ‘Drive-Thru Open’ sign is still on, only to arrive at the order box and watch the workers inside turn off the drive-thru lights. Extremely unprofessional and super aggravating. If you have open signs on and posted hours, honor the posted times. If you cannot honor them, change them, and then train your employees not to ignore attempts by customers to spend money in your establishment.

Had an awful experience with catering here. They quoted the wrong price to us on the phone. When I went to pick up the food, not only was it not ready on time, the total cost was $ 100 more than our quote! Instead of honoring their mistake, their solution was to give us half the food. Ended up paying the full price so I’d have enough for my party guests. If they would have been honest or more transparent about the pricing up front, i would have never ever paid $ 14 a pound for Huli Huli chicken. So not worth it.

You know what I hate the most? Paying a high price and not getting enough of what I paid for. I went here because I thought I would give this location a try. I have been to others and they were quite disappointing. I ordered the spicy chicken and I paid around $ 9 for it and when I got it it, there was barely any chicken on it and just loaded with mac salad. I like the mac salad, probably the only item that was good, but that is just a side item. I paid for spicy chicken and felt like they were skimping on the amount you get. This was the same issue I had at the other locations and I guess that is just how all of them operate. I would definitely recommend this chain of restaurants if you want to be loaded up with starch and barely any protein, otherwise you probably won’t get what you pay for.

I love the Mona Loa chicken. Sweet and spicy! Always sub out rice for extra mac. This may not be pure Hawaiian plate lunch — I don’t care — it’s delicious. I’ve eaten at 3 locations in Eugene Springfield — all really good.

Dissatisfied. Apparently after spending $ 40 on food and drinks to-go, they still want to charge $ 1.50 for a cup of water for my toddler. That is ridiculous considering anywhere else it would be free or a quarter. What a joke!

I love Hawaiian time. I was in Eugene Oregon for a few weeks and couldn’t get enough of it! I must have eaten it about 8 times during my visit, and can’t pass through Oregon driving without stopping to get some. I highly recommend.

This place is one of my guilty pleasures. If I can’t find anyone to eat with this is my go to for a take out order. I always get the pork with extra mac. That mac is my undoing. As soon as I place my order and sit down they’re calling me back up with my food. How are they so quick? I like to grab extra teriyaki sauce and douse my pork with it. I’m surprised by the difference between the small size and the regular size. Sometimes I can’t finish the regular but the small is too small and I’m still hungry. Plus for the price of the small it wasn’t worth it.

I’m slightly jaded and lived for years in Hawaii and ate my way through plate lunches all over the islands, so that being said I find that maybe they should drop the hawaiian and just call it TIME. Maybe TIMETO Eat? The chicken is over marinated and way to salty. The mac salad is not bad. It will suffice if you know no different but for this of us that love a good plate lunch, you may walk away missing the ono grinds.

Fantastic, huge portion for the money. I eat allot. And ordered the $ 10 chicken and rice. Couldn’t finish it. Was shocked. Loved how the sauce was in a squirt bottle. Mac salad was heavenly. Chicken taste fresh bbq. Didn’t taste rubbery like other eugene locations.

NONONO… BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO That about sums it up for this place. Only giving two stars because the service is awesome and friendly and the mac salad is OKAY. If you are at all familiar with TRUE Hawaiian Plate lunch do NOT visit expecing L&L greatness. There is NO spam musubi(or spam at all), Chicken Katsu, Loco Moco or any of the other main staples in Hawaii Plate Lunch. The portions are pretty standard here and other than that you will find that your cravings are not met. That being said — if you haven’t ever had plate lunch you may find this food out of this world amazing — in which case I suggest you visit Hawaii or when you go south an L&L Drive In. Coming from Hawaii I was expecting some GREAT ono home food. NOPE. I am sure the Huli Huli chicken is fine but it is kinda of hard to mess up marinated grilled chicken unless you get the sauce wrong. Again I didn’t try this so I am SURE it is good. The steak meal was so disappointing. The meat was terribly dry and when I asked for extra sauce was told that they didn’t have it. They gave me teriyaki sauce extra but that wasn’t the sauce on the steak. ACK… The rice is sticky as it should be but I normally get extra mac salad and less rice. The mac salad here has a nice pepper flavor but again it isn’t the traditional mac salad I am used to in plate lunch. Pretty good. I was SO happy they had Hawaiian Sun drinks — but boo to the TINY menu options. I guess I should go back and try the BBQ Pork as the reviews make it sound fantastic but I don’t think of plate lunch having bbq pork… isn’t that BBQ??? HAHA

They are pretty darn good. The pork is my favorite. The chicken is great, I didn’t know about the beef until today. They messed up my order and we’re really good when I called. I got my pork and my mom got the beef they accidentally gave me. Everyone was happy. :) so once again I’m pleased with the service and the food! Good job guys!

First timer from out of state, looking for a quality local place. I haven’t tried any other places around town to be fair but I can’t imagine another Hawaiian place topping this one. Incredible! The guy that took my order was helpful since it was my first time, he suggested the pork and I am glad he did. It was moist and tender, can’t go wrong. Paired well with the BBQ sauce too. Also the BEST macaroni salad I have ever had! I usually can’t eat it but this was amazing. Not sure what they’re doing in that kitchen but it is heavenly. Highly suggest this place.

Pretty simple menu, I tend to stop in a couple times a month, and I get the same darn thing. Number 6, I don’t even know what they call it, but it’s tasty. Grilled chicken with I’m guessing teriyaki mixed with a sweet chili sauce over rice with an extra scoop of rice and a scoop of macaroni salad. I always like to add extra teriyaki on my rice and Mac, and then a good amount of Sri racha sauce, mix it all up and yum. For some this is too much carbs, but for me I love carbs.

Consistently great food. The mixed plate, #2 with vegetables is my favorite. There isn’t a weak spot on the menu. As a bonus everyone is super nice.

One of the best spots for Hawaiian food in Eugene. I’m absolutely a fan of spicy foods & for a $ 1 extra you can get an add on of super dope chiles… I had the #6 +chiles & it was ACTUALLY spicy & didn’t disappoint –good service, clean tables, fast drive thru & no Styrofoam containers! 5 stars y’all

Hawaiian Time is the standard for Eugene Grinds in the valley. I really wish more options would pop up, but till then, Hawaiian Time it is. I’ve always ate at the Coburge location, so this spot was a first. I have to say the do a great job. Something I was noticing at the Coburg location, was the the chicken was getting darker and darker. Damn near black. I dont know if it was the process of marinating the chicken, or what exactly started to cause the change… but it was unapealing to say the least. The W.11th location prepaired it they way it used to be, or perhaps I should say, the way it should be. I am not going to go into extreme detail on the food, because if you’ve had it, you already know it, and if you haven’t had it, you should try it out. I was spoiled by a place in PDX called Bamboo Grove and I miss it already… but Hawaiian Time is still a solid option for a plate lunch in Eugene.
