The disappointment, oh the horrible disappointment! After reeling from a long night of bad decisions and one too many drinks, I found myself waking up with that uneasy-queasy feeling of one helluva hangover. It didn’t take long(about 30 seconds) before I caved into the urge to order-in something to appease the great stomach grumbling gods. I wanted to try something new, with tons of grease, and have it delivered to my door STAT. So I turned to my trusty handset and without delay searched for the elusive west coast hoagie. Now, it goes without saying that you can’t really find decent east coast food(let alone say a cheesesteak) here in good ol’ Eugene Oregon… but I was determined to defy the odds I tell you! So ignoring conventional logic and my better judgement I rolled the dice on a chance with this place. After all, the menu looked terrific and for the prices that they were asking I figured that the food must of epic proportions. Boy, did I gamble wrong. The sinking feeling of regret immediately took hold following my ordering call. The employee I spoke with was nice enough, but it felt like I had just been bent over the kitchen counter after she gave me the total. The hoagie itself came to fourteen dollars flat. 14 $ for a foot long? Ouch. My 6oz side of cheese and broccoli soup? An additional six bucks. Double ouch. Then came the delivery fee — ringing in at a whooping six more dollars, not including tip. Somehow I completely forgot about being both hungry and hungover when I realized that my lunch, which was essentially soup and a sandwich, was going to run me well over 30 dollars. When the food finally did come, it most certainly did NOT live up to the price. The soup tasted like something condensed from a can of Campbells. Gooey in texture and stale in taste. The cheesesteak wasn’t the worst thing that I’ve eaten(cough college cough), but with a little dedication and the right amount of creativity you could easily MacGyver yourself something comparable with a hot dog bun, some Oscar Mayher lunch meat, a few slices of Kraft Cheese, and a microwave. Not only that, but you’d save yourself twenty five bucks in the process. I hate to call this place highway robbery, but pretty much eating here is like driving down the road and picking up a hitchhiker… who turns out to be Buffalo Bill… and he just told you to put the lotion in the basket. And no, Jodie Foster doesn’t save you at the end.

Good sandwich. Asked for Dijon Mustard and Mayonnaise but I don’t think anything was on it. A little pricey for what you get though. I ordered from here on Unilocal and did a pickup which was convenient and ready in a very timely matter. I’ll gladly give them another shot and specify what I want a little better.

I went here once and have never been back since. This place is a total rip off and the greedy owner can’t help but skimp on the meat.

Wish I could give 2.5 stars. It’s ok but the price you pay isn’t worth what you get. $ 7 for a half and $ 11 for a whole? The sandwich is pretty tiny. I’ll stick to Sub Shop. It’s only $ 5ish for a half and $ 7ish for a whole. It’s a much larger sandwich also. (I do not own or work for Sub Shop. Just my opinion.)

Teatering on 2.5 stars. Place is kinda run down. Prices spendy $ 13 for a sandwhich? Bold move, hearing they may be going under. Okay sandwhich, took forever and service was sub par. Doubt they even saw me leave or cared. Tried it, wouldnt go back.

I LOVETHISPLACE! I grew up back East and this is the real deal. They are awesome there. The bread is the right bread — most Oregonians screw that up(no offense). I recommend the turkey or the italian. The meat is great quality. It feels like you are at an East Coast deli. And they deliver. The sandwiches are worth EVERY penny. Only reason I did not give five is because I had delivery one time and they forgot the fries. :/

I really want to like this place– and to be fair, I will certainly give them another try. Today’s lunch, however, left a bit to be desired. I ordered the meatball sub and fries– I probably won’t do that again. The meatballs were«ok», but nothing special. The sauce had no flavor– and that was really the biggest disappointment. The fries were hard to decide on. Half of them were so hard as to be inedible. The other half that were not hard were actually quite good. If they are not freshly cut, they they are certainly better than 90% of the fries I have had in recent memory. So with all that was wrong, why will I try them again? Because I had my lunch delivered. I am guessing the experience would have been completely different had I gotten the food fresh and hot instead of cold, soggy and partially inedible.
