K9 Glitz and Glam

This was our first experience at a self wash facility for our dog. We were greeted at the door by the owner who showed an immediate interest in our dog; asking her name, age, etc…
We were told all of the options available, such as using our own shampoo or the wide variety of shampoos she had available at no charge.
We were shown how to safely get our dog situated in the tub, given aprons and shown the water temperatures all while the owner chatted easily with us about grooming needs.
While checking out we were given a run down of daily specials and other services provided by the facility.
This was a very enjoyable outing for us and our dog. We are excited to make it a regular part of our routine.

As a local dog groomer (formerly at Muddy paws). I went on a little fact finding mission to K9 Glitz and Glam, to see if I could recommend this shop.
When I first walked in I have to admit it was a little jarring. The walls are an interesting shade of salmon and completely bare. It literally echoes.
There was also no carpeting. This is a huge safety hazard. With slippery wet concrete floors, this is just not ok. Its unsafe for humans, and dogs.
I get it, dogs will pee. So get a good carpet cleaner and a great relationship with the Aramark guy.
Their shampoo of choice is Kelko. Its a great brand, and I believe, the same one that Suds Em uses. They dilute it a bit more than my liking, but I also never dilute my shampoos as much as the manufacturer says.
Im happy they raised prices, Its a bit closer to market value, and ultimately I would like to see the new owner succeed.
I tried not to compare G&G to the former MP, but it was tough. The lack of supplies by each tub (that need to be brought anyway), was just odd. You know I’ll need towels and treats. So why not just have them ready. Like I said, it literally echoed in there, clutter is a nonissue. Be prepared and save a step.
Ultimately, all complaints aside. I would totally recommend this shop for self service washing. The shop attendant was pleasant, talkative, and all around lovely. I like the shampoo choice, and you definitely get a good deal for what you pay.
