Maty’s Peruvian Food

Wow, how does Maty’s not have a Unilocal listing yet? Maty’s has been a staple at Eugene area festivals and markets for years now. They’re always at the UofO street fair, the Oregon Country Fair, Art and The Vineyard and a lot of other places.
I must admit that I know little about Peruvian food, but the older couple who runs this seems to be Peruvian (they don’t speak much English), and everything is prepared to order. Try their fantastic yucca empanadas, very different from the wheat dough empanadas you’re probably used to. They serve it with a drizzling of a delectable orange, spicy sauce. I also recommend their fried plantains, delicious! Other options include Tamale, a wonderful Flan, and the somewhat strange Chichi Morada drink which is a blue corn and pineapple juice.
