I’ve been wandering through New Twist for years, and I’ve even purchased a few things there. I guess my impression of this store is that they’re trying hard to have a well-curated collection, but somehow it always falls short for me. They do change their jewelry out more regularly, it seems, but many of the products they sell I’ve seen them carry for years. For example: the pillows and glasses with states embroidered or printed on them. They’ve literally had them for years! I like the idea of New Twist. I(generally) find their employees to be welcoming and helpful, but I find myself not walking into the store because I feel like I’ve seen it all before. I’ve often thought they might benefit by bringing in a selection of goods by local Eugene artisans that they can rotate more routinely than they do other merchandise. It would at least mean there’s something new to look at, and possibly help boost the recognition of local artists as well. New Twist, you do a lot of things right… but in my view, you could do a lot of things better. Please, give me a reason to stop in more frequently and see«what’s new».(Perhaps you could benefit from an expansion or second location?)

I’m not sure I can really write a review here as I’ve never been to the Actual Shop, but I deal with the lovely Andrea here in Portland and she keeps me slathered in the good stuff I have no business buying. Case in point: a kyanite necklace by Jamie Joseph– a Seattle artist that I just can’t quit. I need towels — not jewels! Ugh I need a support group. Nevertheless– contact Andrea at New Twist and get some stuff you don’t need but will love forever — fuck towels, it’s been a warm winter. The actual store is in Eugene, I’ve only ever ordered online… Check it out. You’re welcome! and I’m sorry your credit card balance just went up…

Sigh. There are so many lovely dainty jewelry in this store. I’d buy everything if it wasn’t over my price range. I just bought the cutest little pocket Buddha charm to take with me everywhere I go. It gives me a gentle reminder to find peace in the moment. I love that there are Will Leather Goods bags here. I’m obsessed with the craftsmanship and smell of leather. NewTwist offers the cutest little knickknacks for your home. As my friends and I get older I foresee house warming gift shopping here.

Most of the jewelry is okay but many of the household gift items are ugly. The stores carries the Stick brand of furniture but features some of the more ugly products of that unique furniture factory. If you like odd things and overdone, over priced items such as serving spoons with twig and acorn design handles of brass, this is your type of place. Otherwise, stick to the rings and such things.

It’s unfortunate that I feel justified in providing 1 star to this cool boutique. I’ve shopped here for the last year and a half. I’ve been pleased to find unique jewelry or gift items for loved ones. However, I’ve had two experiences(with poor management response) that will prevent me from doing future business with this store. I ordered a custom bracelet because they didn’t have the color of stone we wanted. I was told this wasn’t a problem and would be ready in approximately 6 weeks and the store would contact me. I waited 7 weeks before calling them, received no response. I finally emailed around week 8 and received a response that it would be a couple more weeks. This caused me to loose it as a gift for a special occasion. The second incident included purchase of a nice ring. After purchase we realized the ring needed to be sized. It was purchased before Christmas and we were told the sizing would be «free with the artist», but that we should«come back in a couple weeks after the Holiday». We went back and we were told the sizing would cost us $ 25.00.(The purchase price of the ring was certainly worthy of a free sizing). To add insult to injury they agreed to contact us when the ring sizing was complete. –They said the sizing could take«up to two weeks» and they would«call us when it’s in.» We called one day short of two weeks and the response was. «We’ll call you when someone picks up the shipment.» Two days later and another call to the store(again we’re having to do the effort) they tell us it was in. We stopped by on Friday at 6:15pm, the store is locked up!!! Hours posted were until 7pm. Tried calling the number«We’re sorry this voicemail is full.» Unique items, nice customer service up front, but buyer beware! Once they have your money, don’t expect much more from them. At no time did management offer to apologize for this issue or make amends.

New Twist has some lovely hand-made jewelry, including pearls, lot of great earrings. The rest of the store is kind of ‘meh’. They specialize in household décor and gifts, but a lot is a little too overpriced-artificial-rustic for me, and the other half a bit too shiny/overdone. Nothing that seems particularly in touch with current trends, and the collection seems to change little from year to year.

I LOVE New Twist! With their unlikely mix of beautiful jewelry and fun, funky home décor and gift items, there is no way that anyone could walk in that store and not find something to fall in love with! The women who work there are all delightful and sweet, very willing to help you pick something out and answer any questions. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a gift for the person who has everything, or anyone looking to give them self a unique gift! CHECKOUTTHEWEBSITE! They now have online shopping! So awesome for those of us who love the store but no longer live in the Eug!
