Northwest Canoe Tour

I just got back from am *amazing* tour with Ryan and three novice kayakers near Florence (we started at the Port of Siuslaw). Let me just start out by saying that Ryan’s a terrific teacher; he manages to both instruct and make you feel good about what you’re doing. He also did a great job of planning our tour, thinking through the tides and winds with care and taking us along the banks of the river – where we picked thimbleberries and blackberries from our kayaks – and then into a secluded beach area for lunch. There were enough thrills – wind that required some long, hard paddling – to make the day exciting as well as idyllic. Terrific guide, good quality boats, reasonable prices, great tour.

I’ve discovered paddle boarding through NW Canoe Tour and have been going many weekends. I’m hooked, now thinking about buying my own. I rented one for multi-​day use for our annual trip to the lake and it was a big hit with many first timers. Highly recommended!

Ryan, (owner) doesn’t open his kiosk located in Alton Baker Park until June. I had contacted Northwest Canoe requesting info on a rental and lesson for a stand up paddle board. Ryan did contact me and was willing to set up a time for this before a busy May. He had brought two SUP’s. After an initial overview, we hit the water at the canoe pond and were off and floating. It was as good as it could get for trying it out. I’m hooked. He as kayaks, canoe’s and SUP’s for rent.
