Superior Tan

They were on River Road but recently re-​located up the street to Silver Lane next to Arby’s. The new place is very well decorated. The employees have always been very friendly and accommodating to me. I prefer the stand up tanning booth for the best overall coverage but they have many other bed options. I go two or more times per week and never have to wait for a bed. They are down the street from a school so don’t go when school is letting out or you will be stuck in traffic. They always have great specials running so the price per tan is very reasonable if you buy a few at a time depending on the current deals being offered. Bring your own goggles or they can sell you stick on eye covers for 50 cents. I love this place. I swing by on my way to the gym and I’m in and out in about 15 minutes.

Bad customer service!!! Buyer beware… this tanning place thinks they are the only one in Eugene. As once a returning customer I would now say… find a better place to tan!

Was just here for my first time and I loved it! The woman at the front desk was the sweetest thing ever, answered all my questions and was very helpful in picking a bed and a new lotion. The facility was very clean, organized, and comfortable. Will definitely be coming back on a regular basis!

Best kept tanning secret in town and I hope it stays that way! Superior service, superior employees! Super clean and reasonably priced on tanning and tanning products.

Bulbs aside I went ahead and got a unlimited package and it is absolutely worth it. I enjoy the atmosphere, unpretentious and just plain kind. Not always what to expect when tanning especially once the packages are purchased, I feel like most places give up on customer service once you’ve put the money down. This is NOT the case at Superior Tan, just the opposite. Not only do they know there stuff, willing to share the time on the bulbs and the quality of the beds HONESTLY! I’m a huge fan I just hope no one else catches on so I can keep this little salon all to myself! There are groupons out there for other places in town but even at a discounted rate those places (one in particular) are pathetic compared to here. Save yourself the greif of dealing with pretentious «sales clerks» who will offer you no customer care and just try out this above average salon. Absolutely superior. Updated to 5 stars because they deserve it.

Superior Tan opened in May 2013, but I just recently made my first visit there after receiving a coupon for a free «bronze level» tan and lotion packet for new customers. It’s kind of in an awkward location, right behind Wendy’s and Chen’s Happy Garden (I recommend entering through the Chen’s Happy Garden driveway). When I walked in I was greeted very warmly by a young gal behind the counter. She had me fill out an info sheet for new clients (certifying my age, asking about my skin type, etc.). After filling it out, she helped me find the perfect lotion (Supre Smoke Platinum Dark Maximizer – smelled SUPER yummy). Apparently there was an issue with the «bronze level» room, so she actually upgraded me to the «silver level.» She also recommended a good time limit so I wouldn’t burn. Unfortunately, they only give you three minutes before the bed turned on, so it was a mad dash to apply the lotion. The experience was very relaxing. Unlike some other tanning salons I’ve been to, there was a radio right in the room so you could listen to music as you tanned. You could hear a bit of what was going on outside the room (people shutting the doors to the other room, etc.) but it wasn’t a big deal by any means. My only real complaint stemmed from the bed itself. I’m used to either stand up beds (which I believe the gal said their «gold level» is), or traditional beds where the top closes a bit to surround you more. This bed didn’t have the capability to lower the top. I don’t know if it’s my imagination but I feel like one side of my body got a little more tan than the other side because of that. If that is the case, though, it’s very minor. Next time I’ll probably try the «gold level» bed.
Overall, I’d definitely recommend Superior Tan. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable, the beds were clean, the atmosphere was very relaxing, and the individual tans and tanning packages (no contract!) are affordable compared to many others I’ve seen.
