We paid Derrick $ 10,050 in cash to plaster the walls of our home. It was fine and dandy when it was status quo, but when it came to completion, he offered us a Tuscan finish(color in the plaster) for our bedroom, living & kitchen areas for an additional $ 3,800. We were hesitant about the investment, but because we couldn’t find the right paint color for our walls, were moving out of our old home and living out of suitcases while our new home was being worked on, time was of the essence. So, we took the bait! Long story short, it isn’t that he made mistakes. Anyone can make a mistake. It’s that nearly 2 excruciating months later and 3 additional repair attempts, he walked out of our home today saying the repairs were perfect. What a slap in the face. Moreover, it’s the week-after-week-after-week of «no showing» and excuses: «I spilled the(plaster) pigment. The paint didn’t come in. My brother’s wife just had a baby. I’m getting divorced. You’re stressing me out» that wears as thin as parchment on wet pavement. I walked into my living room at my husband’s request today(shocked that he’d even bothered to show up) and saw him sanding the blemishes on my walls. My Tuscany textured walls now have sanded smooth spots which look like playdough-style amateur repairs. There are corners of my home are devoid of pigment and look as though the roof leaked or perhaps milk dripped down the edges of the walls. At this point, I asked him if I were to have my walls painted over, would they look consistent and… would you accept this in your own home? He packed up and left after offering us $ 2,500 in compensation. Really? A $ 3800 failed job, plus we paid $ 1,500 to seal the plaster(as per his requirement) and we had to hire another plaster professional to come out and bid the repairs needed on all of over our walls and pay to have painters come in and repaint I asked him to at least«float» the plaster to cover up all the smooth areas he sanded and his indignant reply was, again, that«the repairs are PERFECT». Our repairs are standing at $ 7,450 at this point. I could go on, but I’m tired. Be that as it may, we don’t expect perfection. We expect $ 10,050 to buy a really nice plaster job. Derrick may be fine for your plaster needs and his work looked really good before the Varathane was applied to the walls and the paint pigments didn’t blend in. But, he will be very deceitful about finishing up your job or being timely with repairs. He is spread too thin. Sadly, we paid him in full, thinking the job had been successfully completed. 2 months later, and after doZens and dozens of texts and excuses, it looks like we will be forced to spend more time seeking out an attorney and contacting the BBB and the CCB. In closing, my husband looked to see if Derrick had a website online. We were blown away to see a glowing review posted by the both of us, not only touting his work, but saying we had already recommended him to our friends. Really? We are looking forward to recouping some of our losses and hopefully Derrick will treat other clients with more respect and concern than he had for us.

Derek Turner and his crew are old school craftsman. With 40 years decorating experience, it take an artisan to impress me. Wish I knew how to post a photograph of the beautiful Tuscan finish. As s former resident of northern Italy, this crew created a truly authentic Italian look. They were meticulous to cover, seal and protect everything before starting to plaster the ceiling and fireplace accent walls. Clean up extended to the porch and didn’t leave a trace. Even covered door knobs. This group was on time, worked hard and fast, and was a pleasure to work with. I would recommend above all other craftsmen. Sincerely, Molly Madden.
