Chris Zauner and his team recently DJ’d a large community event I put on for a client. Large crowd– roughly a 1000 kids and families.
I had a couple conversations with Chris ahead of time to give him a sense of what we were looking for– the feel, the tone, the level of attendee engagement. Then he ran with it.
Chris was a great asset at the event. He arrived early with all the gear he needed for this venue. Calm, collected. He had extra time to spare, so he found one of our other volunteers and lent a hand to something they were setting up.
Chris does a great job of music selection. We had a mixed crowd– college kids, young families, baby boomers with no kids– the music throughout the event was well-​matched.
Chris also does a good job with the emcee piece. He’s energetic and has a charismatic presence on the mic, but doesn’t add the cheesy broadcaster/​gameshow-​host edge that many DJ’s throw in to their events.
