The last two trips have not been good. We looked at the buffet, the beef looked dry and the riblettes didn’t look like real meat, the slaw, potato salad and other salad looked good. The beans looked overcooked, as did the corn. Many people came and got the buffet to go, they were all regulars and we’re happy. The home fries were cold, limp and greasy. My husband’s hamburger was charted and cold. My spicy waffle fries were hot and perfectly fried. My bacon cheeseburger was okay, but the bacon was very hard. Tea was weak, coke was good. Waited 10 minutes to pay. The woman at the front of the line paid with credit card which wasn’t working. They finally voided the transaction and let the people with cash pay. The woman with the credit card left without her carry out. This place is a favorite with the locals, but I will not be back.

We seek out these kind of local places in small towns. It is hard to find a place as good as The Central Service Grill. They did not disappoint. I have had some really good BBQ, all over the south and the chicken dinner I had today for lunch surpassed them all. My husband ordered the combo plate and I got to sample a baby back rib also excellent. The servings were big — enough for a light supper later in the evening. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. I probably won’t ever get this way again but would highly recommend on the road less traveled.

If you like fried rice or stir fry, try the Courthouse Special. It is brown or white rice stir fried with green peppers, onions and mushrooms with your choice of meat. It like Chinese food meets southern soul!

So, out for lunch decided to check Unilocal for some spot to grub. Decided to check them out. Asked the waitress what would she recommend, the burgers of course. So that’s what I had the Baconcheddar burger & waffle fries.
This burger was really good. The sour dough bun was fresh bacon was crisp and the fixings were too!..
The only complaint were the waffle fries they had a good flavor buy they were cold.
The prices were higher than I’d have expected in such a small town but the quality was in par with the prices so no complaints from me.
They also have a banquet room in he back for parties and what not.

OMG This is the place. We went 30 miles out of our way based on a Unilocal recommendation and we’d go 100 miles out our way to go back! This is hands down the BBBest BBQ I had on this trip.
Juicy Pulled Pork, Succulent Smoked Brisket and hands down Killer Ribs plus this place has some spicy slap yourself HOT BBQ sauce. The staff is awesome and helpful, the place is in a renovated service station in the middle of this little town and you can smell BBQ from miles headed in.
I tell ya, stop here you won’t be disappointed. I wish we had one of these on KC!
