Had a nice boat tour of Lake Beaver. Learned some things, saw some vultures but no bald eagles this time. Just the right amount of information and time on the boat.

This was a pretty boring trip. I expected to hear a little more info about the area or something, but didn’t get much out of the trip for the price of $ 25.00 per person. Saw some trees, saw some water. That was about it. I’m originally from Lake of the Ozarks, so this is really nothing new to me. If you would like to see water and trees, then this is for you. If you want more history and actual information *GASP* then this is not it. There were way too many people crowded onto the boat, which was possibly unsafe, and the price jumped up by $ 5.00 when we boarded. Also, they don’t accept credit cards and only accept cash, which is not at all convenient.

I did this a few years ago and while the other reviews are accurate, its a gorgeous ride with really nice operators, they have upped the price so much that it isn’t worth it. When we went, it was $ 18.00 for the hour and 15min boat ride, now it is up to a mind boggling $ 23.00!!! They offer concessions on the boat, sure, but they are at a premium too. It would be better to rent a boat from the marina, pack a lunch, and take yourself out for a day. My family of 4 rented a pontoon for 6hrs for just under 200.00, which is WAY more economical than $ 23.00 for an hour and 15 minutes. Yikes!!!

Boat is average but Mary Ann — tour operator is very sweet and friendly and informative. My 8yo and I enjoyed it. Didnt need 4 people to make the reservation. You just call and leave a VM and Mary Ann calls back to confirm your reservation… no fuss. There was no liberal propaganda as some of the tripadvisor reviews complained. I was pleased and would totally return. Directions on their website were accurate and signage was true. Chairs were comfortable and plenty of space. Price reasonable — especially kids price.

The boat isn’t much to look at necessarily. If you are expecting a paddle boat, this isn’t it. It’s nice though for these hour to hour and a half cruises… simple deck with comfortable lawn chairs. The operators are SO nice! We enjoyed hearing about the history of Beaver Lake and different points around the area. Most of all, this is a relaxing journey around the lake. The weather was perfect and the view… beautiful. They have a bathroom on board as well as drinks and chips you can purchase. It takes 4 people total to make the trip… so you may call ahead to reserve. So glad we decided to do this attraction!
