Peaceful, beautiful, serene, & modern. True log cabins set in the forest, with a warm & non-pretentious vibe. Classy, and CLEAN. For the past two summers, I’ve spent six weeks working in Eureka Springs, AR, for the Opera in the Ozarks Summer Music Festival. As a recent widow, I was looking for the perfect respite. Cabin Fever provided EXACTLY that! When I walked into the cabin to decide if I wanted to stay there, I immediately felt calm, and the smell of pine was incredible. What made me decide in a split-second to stay, was that the cabin was upscale and tasteful, yet welcoming and homey. Large, full kitchen, very open and light, and high ceilings & ceiling fans. Large porch with plenty of chairs and a porch swing, perfect for watching the deer that come onto the property! The back decks have stunning views, and are huge. Each cabin comes with an indoor Jacuzzi and satellite TV. There’s a large selection of DVDs, books, and boardgames available too, plus an outdoor bbq grill. The proprietor, Ty, is down to earth, funny, friendly, and accommodating, and there’s even a resident dog named Katie who will brighten your day(only if she’s invited by you, of course)! :) I saw lots of return guests during my weeks there, and I know some of the cabins can accommodate many people — there are several to choose from. Everyone loves it there! Here’s the website: .

We learned about this little place online, nestled in the lush hills around Eureka Springs. I’m a New York city guy, far removed from the peace of running creeks and sweet bird calls, but Cabin Fever Resort was quick to bring back the nostalgia I have for my boyhood in southern Mississippi. Cozy, clean rooms, obviously the innkeepers here have placed a lot of care and love into their place and from what I understand, they’re still not done making it even better. You can’t get better than Eureka Springs and the surrounding area. A picturesque town, open, friendly, diverse and welcoming. Lots and lots of little shops where I could score just about anything. Prices are insanely affordable, even cheap if you’re from a larger metropolitan area and used to paying out the ear for every little thing. Lots of food choices, hiking and nature trails. I loved the girls who run this place and I love the resort just as much. We’re already planning a Autumn trip and I can’t recommend enough that you check this place out. Truly a little piece of paradise!
