I stopped there on Sept. 8. I left faster than a raspberry going around inside a blender when I saw the price of smoked salmon, $ 39.95 a pound!!! Won’t be going back to that place.

Always good seafood. The owner is a character you have to talk to. I wouldn’t call him friendly but he’s not as rude as some on Unilocal have described him.

We were just passing through Eureka on our way down the West Coast and heard this place had great smoked salmon. Skylar, the nice gentleman who helped us was kind enough to give us a free sample and it confirmed what we had heard. This is the best smoke salmon by far! We told Skylar we were traveling down to Los Angeles so he packed our salmon in a big bag of ice for free. Great customer service, great smoked salmon, you cannot go wrong with Mr. Fish

This is the best smoked salmon and canned albacore that I have ever had in my life. Staff was friendly when we were there and even if they weren’t, it would be hard to keep me from that salmon. Would love to order from Mr. Fish on the internet — Eureka is too far to drive from SF… or is it?

Have purchased here many times with complete satisfaction! He has never been rude to us or have I ever seen him be rude to anyone else! Your right he’s not going to chat it up with you, just his personality! If you want fresh delicious Seafood I would highly recommend Mr. Fish! Let him know your a San Francisco Giant Fan and I am sure you will get a smile!

If I could give a minus I would. Mark McCulloch, the owner, was very rude and foul mannered! We were courteous while he was waiting on ONE other customer before us. Afterwards, when we changed our choice on a fresh salmon slice, he said to us he was «very busy and he had other things to do»…and we were the only people in the store! So we immediately left. Upon leaving, I made a remark about him incredibly being in business 40 years with his service. Can you believe we were treated this way?

I’ve shopped here for oysters, salmon, rockfish and crab. Great fish, great service. Even got an oyster knife and instructions on shucking my own oysters.

A small fish store just up the street from the «giant» Eureka mall offers excellent smoked and fresh fish. The smoked salmon is great! and the smoked tuna belly is even greater! The store is informal and folksy, and the proprietor has good sense of humor. Smoked fish is not cheap but these guys offer an excellent product for the price. Bring your cooler when you come here — or they can sell you one.
