This is a review on skilled nursing/rehab… What an amazing place! I have a family member staying here short term for acute rehab after surgery, and all I can say is I cried happy tears when we found St. Andrew’s. Yes. I did actually cry. If you have ever had to research skilled nursing/nursing home facilities, you know how frustrating, awful, depressing, and scary it can be. Well, St. Andrew’s is exactly OPPOSITE of all those things. As a matter of fact it’s current Medicare ranking is 18⁄20 stars, which is excellent! From the first moment we arrived for our(unscheduled) tour, St. Andrew’s made us feel like family. The Marketing/Admissions Director, Vikki, is a jewel — so sweet and compassionate! She gave us the tour, along with reassurance about the type of care in which St. Andrew’s believes — a «person-centric» approach. Each person is cared for and treated as an individual, not a Medicare payment. So far, that’s exactly what we’ve witnessed in our first two weeks! The facility has a decent PT/OT rehab space that is newly remodeled — love the space that replicates a real home environment(kitchen/bathroom), and will be getting some new equipment soon. However, most important to my family, they have doctors who visit 3 times a week on campus(not the 1 – 2 times a month we found with other spots). There are RN’s on staff 24/7, along with other nursing and CNA staff. They have been super friendly, kind, efficient, and compassionate. We have been extremely impressed. There is a hair/beauty salon on campus, daily church services, and regularly scheduled entertainment activities(plus the dining room is decked out to root root root for the Cardinals!). Super friendly dogs come to visit each Wednesday, and there is a well stocked little library/rec room. We fell in love with with the beautiful views of the valley and countryside, which can be seen from the many, many windows. The dining room has the best views, and I can only imagine how breathtaking it will look with autumn leaves and snow covered hills. There is the most beautiful interior courtyard that has a delightful fountain, swing, chairs, and wind chimes. We believed this the moment we walked through the doors when Vikki greeted us, and we know it now as truth: this is a place our loved one will get better and have physical and spiritual healing after a very difficult and challenge filled hospital stay and recovery from surgery. St. Andrew’s skilled nursing care is just excellent! St. Andrew’s is currently undergoing a $ 5 million dollar remodel to update it’s interior and improve on some essentials. You can see some of the concept drawings as you walk in the entrance. It will be amazing and will be another selling point when completed — the upgrade will replace some of the 70’s feel and modernize the place. Yet despite the construction, St. Andrew’s is not a messy unkept construction zone! It is clean and well kept — not easy to do with major renovations going on. You would expect nothing less in a place caring for your loved ones. That’s another thing I love about this place, their expectations of themselves is high — very high. They know how some other places are, and they will accept nothing but excellence. St. Andrew’s used to be a place called Price Memorial. It was bought over a year ago, and it is under new management, in partnership with Ursuline nuns. I don’t know how it was before, but all I can say now is, «You go girls!» Those nuns and new management are a winning combination. Thank you for taking care of my loved one like they are family! We are so happy we found you. God bless!
