This place was great. Having lived in Hawaii this was a welcome surprise. The food reminded me of my moms cooking. The décor was fun and service outstanding. You can bet we will be back.

Ambiance was a little hokey. But the effort was cool. Trying to bring in some of the island to an… Interesting… Town. I had the Asian chicken salad. I like that they didn’t drown the salad in an overly sugary syrup like dressing. The chicken had a good flavor to it. My husband had the combo with pork and coconut shrimp. He said the pineapple gravy on the rice sounded weird. But it ended up being good. It’s been years since either of us had Hawaiian BBQ(we live in Monterey) so it was a pleasant surprise to find this place. Service was good. Attentive. Not overly so. Would definitely come back to try other stuff on the menu

Absolutely delicious! We got the mango habanero happy hour special, I got the huli huli chicken(pupu) and Justin got the beef bulgogi dinner. Everything was packed full of flavor, and those wings were really freaking spicy!!! The happy hour Mai Tai was one of the best I’ve had in a while. We will definitely be back! :)

Just walked in at 8:30pm exactly and was TURNEDAWAY!!! It’s says it closes at 9PM and all we wanted was DRINKS??? Not only were we turned away… there was almost no one inside of there… I don’t understand? Do they not like to make money? It’s Saturday night… Aweful, aweful, AWEFUL first(and last) experience!

Could not believe it when we were told our party of nine could not be accommodated. It was after college graduation and this was a recommended place. Not even offered to sent us away with takeout. Having worked in food service this was a first. They missed a lot of $$$$$$$

The food at Banana Hut is okay. The service is ridiculously slow… every time I go. I’m done.

Food was ok. Word of mouth said it would be really good but it did not taste very authentic but it was ok. Big portions.

Very good food. We ordered the Korean BBQ chicken and the pulled pork. Recommend the chicken! We also ordered a few drinks and the frozen tropical ones were delicious. Be careful though. Our bill for 2 adults and a 2 yr old was $ 84. Due to the price, we probably won’t return if we go through but it was enjoyable.

The staff at The Banana Hut was super nice and effective at doing their job. The food on the other hand fell short. Similar to what you can get at L and L BBQ but double the price. I ordered the shrimp scampi and my husband ordered the kalua pork. I was hopeful the shrimp scampi would be similar to what we had in Oahu at Giovanni’s shrimp truck but it wasnt. Nothing will ever beat Giovanni’s shrimp truck but you can make a similar dish that is super easy to make and tasty. I have made better at home for both the shrimp scampi and kalua pork. Its definitely worth a try once due to how friendly the staff is and how their isnt much in town to dine at.

Everything looked great online until I walked in and was barely acknowledged. Walked in around 12:25 to order to go, and was barely acknowledged by the three female staff on the floor. Not really an authentic aloha if you ask me. After some time, one of the girls on the floor let me know that I could walk to the back of the restaurant and order my food there. Changed my mind and just left. Definitely not a welcoming feeling.

Very yummy and unique sauces. We tried the pineapple bbq over rice, bbq over pork, miso honey over salad and lemon over chicken. Lemon sauce packed a punch very lemony, sweet, not like Chinese fod at all. It was very slow service though, over an hour at lunch.

This was the best dinner I have had in eureka since moving here in September. I had the loco moco! My favorite Hawaiian dish! Food was hot and was as good or better than I found in Hawaii.

This is by far the hardest review I have ever had to write. I’ve been going to see Ken and Fatima since they were at Redwood Acres in 2006. I would drive from Arcata to Eureka in search of their food. Many times arriving to find that they were not open. When they opened the current location, I was a regular customer! Reward card member and all! I have 13 check-ins to prove some of that loyalty. Service and atmosphere are still top notch, but the price of food is not what I’d expect to pay. It has always been more expensive than the SoCal or the Bay Area, but I’ve been willing to pay for it because it’s good food. On my last 3 visits, the Pork Lau Lau, Kalua Pork, and pineapple gravy have been disappointing compared to what I have had in the past.

As we were sitting there waiting for the waitress to come take our order, all 5 of the waitresses were talking very loudly off to the side, in front of all the customers, about how she was upset that she got a 2 $ tip from a previous customer and she was yelling and complaining about it. At least the food wasn’t bad, my mashed potatoes with my ribs were cold, and my ribs were a little dry with a slight crunchy exterior. But The slaw was good, and the spam musubi was good. Im from Hawaii and there were some aspects of home here in the food. The only annoying thing they do is yell«aloha» everytime someone walks threw the door. Scares Yu half to death when they do it too.

I love this place! The atmosphere is wonderful! The fans are so decorative. There’s always parking in front. Although it can get packed on Friday nights, that just goes to show how wonderful it is! And you MUST try the DEEPFRIEDMASUBI! It’s amazing!

We had a party of 4 and I can tell you everyone was impressed. I had the baby back spare ribs and they were fall of the bone tender, perfectly cooked, and tasty!!! We spent the rest of our weekend in Eureka comparing every place we ate to this and it was no contest. My son’s birthday was that week and so we got an extra treat of a fried banana sundae and it was the perfect topping to an already great meal. The service was exceptional and cost was fair for the quality of meal and service. Would not go back to Eureka without assurance that we would get a second meal here.
