Music water and birds Ferran Park is a beautiful lakefront park that features a gorgeous sculpture of a blue heron. The park just sort of blends in with the scenery and it’s easy to go right by it if not for the eye catching heron. The stunning work of art is the type of thing that demands closer investigation once you see it. The park is actually quite a bit larger than it looks because it hugs the shore of the lake and is long and narrow. A great place for a walk along the water on the paved paths. The park offers several boardwalks for fishing or just relaxing and has a aquatic center and pools for water activities. Located within the park is the Alice McClelland Memorial band shell, one of only a few band shells in the entire state of Florida. A beautiful structure that is on the national register of historic places. Ferran Park is definitely a cool place that is extremely unobtrusive and welcoming. The type of park that you will probably spend a lot more time exploring than you first intended.
