I lived in Mt Dora many years and frequented Kings hundreds of time. I loved them. Since moving to Ocala 10 years ago, I had to be satisfied just to buy their BBQ sauce(mustard) from my Publix stores. Today, I purchased their 32 oz jug at my Publix for $ 1.00. That is because it was on clearance. I understand, because it is so watered down now that it won’t cling to ribs, chicken, anything. It used to be a joy, now it’s watery mustard. Seriously, is that what is being applied to the pork and chicken at the Eustis stand? Shame on you.

I was born in Eustis, FL and I grew up on King’s. I remember from an early age riding up to their window with my dad and ordering the ribs with the BESTSAUCEEVER. We used to get a couple of slabs to take home and we’d eat them for a couple of days(if there were any left!). I haven’t had them in forever and I’d give anything to go with my dad again but he passed away. Luckily, I was in Publix in Jacksonville where I live and I found King’s sauce!!! Needless to say I almost flipped out because I had actually been thinking about it because my husband loves BBQ and has never had King’s. I’m hoping to one day take my son down to King’s and grab a slab. This place brings back nothing but fantastic memories for me. Thank you King’s!

We have been coming to Kings for years! It’s the best barbecue ever! We drive far out to get it. We don’t live in the area. It takes us about 40 mins. and it’s worth it! We buy 2 slabs of ribs. On the way home, we stop for boiled peanuts at a stand. You drive up and stand at a window to order. You can go down by the lake or eat at picnic tables on the premises. We used to eat it by the lake. Now, we take it home to eat it. We eat the left overs the next night. I really hope they branch out to other areas. Hopefully, Apopka or Orlando area.

My kids and I love good BBQ. We heard this place has been known for good BBQ, so we thought what the heck, little drive but may be worth it. For starters, this is a pick up place. So plan on picking your food up, not eating there. So we pull up and didn’t have to wait long *couple minutes as there was only one other person there*. We decided to order a whole chicken *we ask for plenty of sauce* and rib sandwich. I must say, they butchered our poor chicken. When we got home, it was literally in pieces *whole chicken look like someone took a knife and just hack it*. Sadly, barely any sauce on our chicken and it was very dry. However, on a positive note, the rib sandwich had plenty of sauce, tasted good and it was a delight.

OMG! I grew up on Dreamland BBQ in Tuscaloosa, AL. Kings? The closest thing I have found. No frills here. I repeat, no frills here. Get a slab, have em wrap em in paper and take em home. Anytime I am near Kings, regardless of location, I make a point to swing by and grab a slab. AND…when you invite friends over telling them ribs from Kings… be select… they’ll be beating down your door. Don’t forget the beer, this sauce screams for it.

I found this place after map-questing it. This place is randomly tucked away quietly in a somewhat iffy neighborhood. While we were there, several people ambled up to the window to procure their food, so it’s popular in the area. Presentation: A half rack of ribs with 6 pieces of soft white bread slathered in the yellow sauce wrapped in wax paper and tucked into a brown paper bag. Utilitarian, cheap, and makes for easy clean up! Plus the bread soaks up the extra sauce, yum! The sauce: Tangy mustard-based sauce with a strong vinegar kick, I really liked it. I wouldn’t eat it all the time, but it’s a nice alternative to the standard red sauce. My boyfriend ate his portion but as he isn’t a huge mustard fan he wasn’t hugely enamored. The meat: Lost them a star. It was obviously cooked somewhere else and then sat too long. The end pieces were a bit dry and tough to chew but the pieces in the middle still had a bit of juiciness and fat left to them. Roughly half our rack was good & the other half dried out. There’s a small park area next to the building with a playground and several tables. It’s labeled«King’s Place», so we ate our food their in the shadows of the early evening. Even so, we stood out quite a bit. Also, I’m not fond of the fact that we saw a seriously sketchy looking dude eyeballing my grandma’s car & us while we ate. We had to interrupt our meal to make sure Creepy– Mc. Kreepster didn’t try to pull any nonsense. If anything, I’ll buy a bottle of their sauce and throw it on some food at home so I can control the tenderness of meat & not have to worry about the crowd.

Ditto… the best tasting MUSTARD-base sauce anywhere… VERY busy and only open until«da ribs dey goan.» I believe only open for business Friday and Saturday? NOTE: bring your flak vest or personal protection, the«hood» is downright scary.

These guys make the best BBQ sauce I’ve ever tasted, it’s just as simple as that. If you’re a fan of mustard/vinegar bbq sauces, this is THE sauce. If you’re in Central Florida, you can find it for sale at your local Winn-Dixie. However, if you want a «red dot» bottle of the hotter stuff, you’ll have to get it from the source. This isn’t just a fantastic sauce, it’s a tradition and a lake county institution.
