I love this place!!! It may be a little more expensive but it’s TOTALLY worth it. Cool staff… great coffee.

I decided to come here to get an ice coffee just to try something new. It cost $ 5 for a large ice coffee which cost more than Starbucks. It was just okay only. Never again

I finally found the chance to check out Brue, which is fairly new to the neighborhood. When I entered the café, I was pleased by the relaxing atmosphere and the cozy interior. They had a small selection of Bennison’s baked goods and I opted for a chocolate pastry, which was ohhh so good. I ordered a mocha as well, which was exactly what I needed for the morning. The barista was friendly and service was overall great. I appreciated that the café was quiet and the music in the background seemed to fit the mood. I can definitely see myself coming here to study or get work done if I’m bored at home. There are plenty of seating inside and outside the café. There is even a printer inside the café, which is perfect since I’m always out of printer ink when I need to print something important. Anyways, I can’t wait to try out the other menu items and look forward to coming here more often!

Awesome place. Good music, good coffee, and pleasant staff! Spilled my coffee, and the staff were super helpful, and offered me a free drink.

Good coffee, pleasant staff, tables for groups and charger rows for laptop road warriors who need free WiFi and comfortable seat with a sandwich for lunch. I tried the breakfast panini, good stuff. My group has already decided we’ll be back for our next meeting, maybe you should check it out if you haven’t yet… They also have pour-overs, cortado, and decent lattes. Salud!

What a cute little place! Nice beverages and great pastry selection! It would be a wonderful place for a student to study, they even have paid printing.

Great coffee and lovely sitting area. I was upset when starbucks left but I am much happier with Brue. Customer service is awesome here. I almost didn’t write this review for fear of the secret getting out but I would be more upset to see them leave so tell everyone to stop by and check it out. They are a great addition to Evanston!

Brue is a great new addition to the Evanston coffee scene. The coffee is from Asado and much less acidic than Starbucks — kudos and thank you from the bottom of my stomach. The baristas are not lightning fast, but do they really have to be? We got our coffee(a regular and an almond milk mocha) and a treat from their selection of Bennison’s Bakery goodies and chilled in the Brue atmosphere. Brue has great seating and minus the giant island of merchandising crap that was in the old Starbucks, the space feels much bigger, but still cozy. Good coffee, delicious local snacks, friendly staff, great seating and really really clean — what more can you ask for? I’m all for supporting local businesses and Brue is a great spot to do just that.

Great coffee. Happy staff. Pleasant atmosphere. This is my daily morning stop. Always greeted with a smile by staff and the customer base is friendly and chill as well. Less of the cattle call you get from Starbucks and more of the vibe of the«Central Perk». Free wifi and indie tunes. Love it.

This is a cute coffee shop away from the city. It’s really quiet and has plenty of seats for studying. They get their coffee from ASADO Chicago and bakeries from Bennison’s Bakery Evanston. The oat meal resin cookie is pretty tasty. If you have car and wanna find a quite place reading while enjoying the aroma of coffee, this is definitely a place for you!

Speed it up! I thought service was slow because it was new. 3 months later – still slow. Does anybody over the age of 17 work here?

Stylish and modern atmosphere which is good for work. People were nice :-) Coffee is not really my strike taste because it was lighter than I thought, but it’s ok. Pastry was really good!

This used to be a Starbuck’s and what a change … for the better. I appreciate the quiet and peaceful vibe. The(repurposed, distressed?) wood on the tables pulls the look together with panache. The mugs are nice, as well. The gas fireplace was cozy on a rainy day. Chocolate chip cookies were not too dry, not too chewy. Just right. I’ll be back!

I love this place! Not the biggest selection of coffee, but luckily they have my favorite, which is the mocha. The workers are very friendly. The place is quiet with some great tunes playing in the background. Free WiFi helps get that homework done. Everything is close to Starbucks prices, but I definitely feel like you get quality and quantity out of your pocket! And they have the most delicious banana bread! I highly recommend stoping in!

Strong and smooth coffee and cappuccino. One of the best features is how much froth is in the drinks with cream. Definitely well done and worth the extra time to prepare versus a simple mix with half-and-half creamer. The beans also seem to have a strong flavor without really being bitter or having an over-roasted taste. Good coffee at reasonable prices.

Okay, they have finally fully won me over. My new consistent study location. Love the tea, the barista’s are friendly, love the quiet atmosphere. Pastries have gotten way better since I first reviewed.

Ok so first off, this place is a 1000x better than the Starbucks it replaced, so that’s a positive big time. They also serve a local roaster named Asado which has a deserved good reputation. To the specifics: the coffee is excellent, not as well made as Brothers K which is the best in Evanston. They serve Bennisons baked goods which are reliably good but not a very exciting selection since everyone has their stuff now. They also advertise having fancy chocolate stuff but I didn’t see any. Which seems to be what best shows their newbie status: theßy don’t have much of anything. Few food options and only like 3 coffee varieties — a dark, mild and a mixed. Carrying a boutique roaster, I was looking forward to seeing some unique stuff. Bottom line: a solid but not memorable experience. I would totally get coffee here again if nearby!

This place just opened and I love the décor and atmosphere in this place! It use to be a Starbucks, so it’s nice to see an independently owned coffee place here instead! Coffee was great and strong. They have a good menu with café con leche and cold brews too. A few food items, but didn’t see exactly what it was. Customer service should of been better I thought for a place that just opened! A little more excitement would of been nice. I said thanks for the coffee and how excited I was for a new place, and I didn’t even get a thank you or a response at all. So that threw me off, but I will return to try some other drinks!
