I went to Dr. Cheeks because he was close by, on my Dental HMO, and had some slots available. I was a little concerned when I showed up and saw what the office looked like: not the sleek, surgical Death Star feel I’m used to with dentists’ offices, with every surface gleaming and reflective. It felt more like the Millennium Falcon, or an underfunded public library. But I found Dr. Cheeks to be personable, professional, prompt, etc., etc. He comforted me (I am terrified of my own mouth and what might be going on in there), explained things patiently and clearly, and seemed admirably set on avoiding oral surgery or other high-​priced solutions on my behalf. He had another client show up three hours late for an appointment and he treated the guy with kindness and understanding. I’ll go back.
