Edible Arrangements

Five stars! Unfortunately my condo building didn’t let me know that I had a box of fruit waiting in the package room, so when I retrieved it 2 days later it had gone bad. It really wasn’t the fault of Edible Arrangements, but when I called to explain the situation they told me I could pick up a fresh new one anytime at no cost. This is peak customer service and I will continue to frequent this location for gifts!!!

Here is the exact conversation with the person working at Maple Avenue, Evanston, Edible Arrangements today (Dec, 29,2015)
First I was in the process of placing an order online but the 20% off Holiday code was not working so I called.
Employee: «Hello» (no one said what business it is so I could have called Lowes appliances)
Me: «Hi I was trying to use the 20% off code on an order, but it didn’t-«
Employee «You place order? what name?»
Me «I was trying to place an order»
Employee «What is name of ORDER»?
Me «I am sorry (why why do we say this when no one is SORRY, yet) I have not yet placed my order, I TRIED TO, but the promo code-​«
Employee «I do not have your order».
Me «Ok thanks» (again, why do we, or I do anyway, say THANKS when nothing has been done to thank anyone for). I’ll stop in later».
I drive over there (AGAIN this is a DELIVERY SERVICE for PEOPLE who do not WANT to have to drive and park and tromp through the snow, but prefer the luxury, in theory, of ordering online, not speaking to a human and it is done.)
My friend and I (she worked in customer service for 12 years) walked in an empty store. No PEOPLE AND no arrangements of ANY KIND, empty shelves, empty countertops, empty flower display cabinets.
My friend and I shouted a friendly HELLOOOOOOOO? Nobody answered. We were trying to think positive because we needed to send this «thank you» arrangement today. A woman comes in and we asked if we could order an arrangement.
Her «We are out of all our specials» (did anybody mention specials?)
Us «So can we order online or… do you have a menu? a pamphlet, any marketing materials.»
Her «I can’t have any specials for you for 30 minutes»
Us «Ok so are we suppose to look on your computer or can you look them up for us or, how can we order»
Her «No we are out of that». (I KID YOU NOT)
She asked us four separate times, did we place an order. We replied four times that we would LIKE to place an order NOW.
Everything we asked had a response as if we had said something, anything, but a basic customer service, basic transaction question. Everything we asked had a NO response. She all but pushed us out the door with her parade of No’s.
I would have given up then but my kind, customer service friendly friend was still trying so hard to communicate with this person. It was as if this employee never been in a store of any kind, never worked in any store or had any basic comprehension of how a job of any kind or store of any kind, works.
There seemed to be ZERO comprehension that she should/​could be doing anything at all for the *people standing in her store wanting to BUY SOMETHING* This completely baffled her.
There was ZERO sense of responsibility on her part that no transaction means poor business practice, not trying to be of help is not a good way to do business. She was simply repeating various reasons why she could not help us, despite our calling to HER attention the various ways she might be able to help us place an order. She continued to smile and repeat, smile and repeat as if she was offering an upgrade to First Class.
It got to the point of attempting to do her job for her
That is my review. I have no idea how this place stays a float. Or how this person got the job when so many insightful hardworking experienced people are homeless and unemployed.

I have come here several times now to pick up my arrangements that were ordered for me by family and friends, I’ve also had arrangements delivered to me too. Just the other day it totally slipped my mind that I had an order to pick up. The sweet front desk girl, Yudira called me to remind me and when I came in she was eager to get me my arrangement. She’s so professional and very thoughtful, a real manager like professional. If she’s not the location manager, she should be!

I had a birthday this past week and I was fortunate to get off work a half an hour early at 3:30 and I called home to share the news with my lovely lady. I was asked if I had anything delivered to me at work, which I did not. She explained that she wanted to surprise me at work with some yummy chocolate covered strawberries, so she placed an order 4 weeks ago for it to be delivered today.
When she called to find out what happened to the delivery, she was told that the delivery driver didn’t start until 1pm and that they didn’t know that the delivery was going to a business, otherwise they would have made it a priority. Then the woman checked and found out that the delivery was made after I left the office. I tried calling my office but it was closed already.
The next day, I found my chocolate covered strawberries sitting out on a counter.
The card that was attached to the box clearly shows:
1) business name
2) a suite number
3) a business phone number
4) the address type is listed as «Business»
so for them to have said that they didn’t know that my delivery was going to a business was either a lie or pure negligence.
I don’t understand why they don’t have a driver for morning deliveries, that seems like a good reason to stay away. I know that I would never order form this location after this experience. I can understand a mistake, but they didn’t seem to care that they were negligent, and that is the reason that I won’t give them any of my business again.

Just had a wonderful experience at this store. The store associate, Kenan, was so helpful to me and the other customers who popped in while I was there. He was very pleasant, offered us samples, and pretty much brightened my day!

I see that there is only one review for this business, and I apologize for any inconvenience on your past experiences. I am the new store manager for this location, and are doing my best to have each and everyone of you, leave with a WOW experience. Please come in and enjoy a small sample on the house. As soon as you enter our store front, you can smell our fruit, which is cut fresh, every morning. Choose from our amazing chocolate dipped options, beautiful fresh arrangements, cute cards, plush bears and balloons, but most of all a whole new attitude towards proffesional business management. Were here to «Make Life A Little Sweeter» for any occassion that might arise.

I have nothing against the company in general. I like fruit. And theirs is pretty good actually. Covered in chocolate, what’s not to like. The fruit is fresh and it’s tasty. Awesome. But this location — I think not. There are plenty of others — go to one of them.

The delivery driver from this location SUCKS (or at least one of them does — don’t know how many there are) and is completely unprofessional. A friend ordered something for my birthday to be delivered to me at work — obviously a surprise, why would I know it was coming? On my birthday, at 4 PM, the delivery driver calls and says «oh, I have a delivery for you, I’m running late, how late will you be there» because he knew he was delivering to a business address — I told him 5:30 (also, at this point I didn’t even know what company he was with). He called back 15 minutes later to tell me that he just wouldn’t be able to make it to me before 7 PM he was running too late (and like hell I was going to stay at work until 7 PM on my birthday). He promised he’d drop it off at 10 the next morning. Excuse me? But fine. I could have dealt.
Actual time of receipt: 4:30 PM the day AFTER my birthday. It was supposed to have been there more than 24 hours earlier. And the website says you can get same day delivery even, so why on EARTH would he not be able to make a delivery that was scheduled well in advance?
I don’t know whether they re-​made it. I sure hope they did, but I have my doubts (I haven’t actually eaten it yet). I do know that when delivered, the box was not even cool to the touch (it says to refrigerate it), which suggests that it had been out of refrigeration for too long (which was only made worse by the fact that he came so close to the end of the day that I didn’t have time to refrigerate it before my hour commute home).
While I have no problem with Edible Arrangements in general, I will NOT be patronizing this location
