I highly recommend doing a wine tour with Evanston Cellars! This past weekend my girlfriends planned this as an activity Saturday during the day as a part of my bachelorette party and I was not disappointed. The transportation, lunch, and all tastings were included. There were 5 girls in my party and we were with another group of 4. At first I thought it was odd there were separate groups on such a small bus(its not really that small I’m just a space person) but it turned out to be fun getting to know the other people. Dileep(I believe that is his name — very sorry if I got that wrong) was absolutely amazing and incredibly accommodating. We were all very impressed with his attention to detail! When we met to start the tour he had glasses of wine waiting(I believe that were from his winery) It was a nice welcome — we boarded the bus and he gave us an intro into grapes/different wine knowledge, we were polite but I think he picked up on that we weren’t listening and so he kindly turned the radio on and let us jam up on the drive up. We visited a few different wineries on our tour. Hickory Creek Winery was fun, the wine wasn’t my favorite but I really enjoyed the sitting area, and the tire swing on the tree, it had a good feel to it. Not to mention the adorable Corgi that loved eating crackers. My favorite is definitely Free Run! If you go, try the Grapparita! It’s a brandy that has a mild tequila taste and they mix it with margarita mix(its also 80 proof) SO good! Free Run also had an amazing eating area surrounded by a pond and all of the grapes. Dileep had our lunch all set up and ready to go for us and he went above and beyond to accommodate a member of our party that had a gluten/soy/lactose allergy, little things like that go a long way with us! We ended at Lemon Creek Winery, this place had a great gift shop and if you finished your tasting a bit early there was a farmers market right there! My favorite wine here was the Peach Spumonte, incredibly sweet but very good! Dileep kept lots of waters in a cooler for us and even let us drink our wines on the bus, we also loved his personality — he was polite but energetic and very funny, he even posts pictures of your event of facebook so you can tag your friends. All in all, I highly recommend taking the day to do this trip, it was a major success!

Dileep is the man and you should take his wine tour. Here is why: –For ~$ 130 I was chauffeured to 3SW Michigan Wineries with my girlfriends and literally had to do nothing else(lunch included and all tasting fees paid for) –The man knows his stuff. I like how he gave us narrative about each area we were going to. But at the same time, he also is cool if you really just don’t give a darn and rather him not tell you. –Attention to detail: ample water on board(very necessary) plus unbreakable crystal wine glasses so that we wouldn’t be subjected to red solo cups while we drank wine on the way to our next destination Don’t let the low number of Unilocal reviews steer you, he is a hidden gem and this makes for a perfect day trip whether you are bacheloretting or just wanting a city excursion. I came back to the city a wine connoisseur(well kind of, the pinot may have gotten the best of me ;))

I went with a group of 12 girls for a friends bachelorette party and we all had a really great time! I also learned quite a bit from our very knowledgable and nice tour guide. I would highly recommend this fun experience!
