First Presbyterian Church of Evanston

«First Pres» of Evanston is a community of Christ followers who want to know, love, and serve Jesus – and His world. What makes First Pres special? Some visitors have said it’s the look of the building with stained glass windows, the history of the place, the courtyard garden or even the 1000-​pipe church organ.
But like makeup on a beautiful woman, that’s cosmetic. The beauty of First Pres isn’t just external. Its beauty is found in the heart – the heart of God – in His people at First Presbyterian Church of Evanston.
The Bible and the gospel – the good news of the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus is taught from pulpit to classrooms. And it’s lived – inside and outside – the church walls.
It’s lived out in small groups that meet for Bible study, prayer and fellowship in homes across Evanston and beyond. In a coffeeshop «Q Place» where non-​Christians can ask tough questions about God, the Bible, and Jesus. Worldwide as prayer and support go to mission fields all over the globe.
First Pres, like any church, isn’t perfect, but it is real. Its a place where people can live out their faith together with love and support. Its the church that I call home.
