I‘ve now tried this place twice(Green City Market location) and I am competely sold. The guy(who I assume is Ryan based off the other reviews) is extremely friendly– he even threw in some extra veggies for me to try! The ingredients are very fresh, and most importantly– the crepes are DELICIOUS. I have only tried the market fresh veggie crêpe off their seasonal menu because I can’t get enough of it– but maybe eventually I‘ll get around to trying something else. I highly recommend going to a farmers market close to you, even if your only purpose is to grab one of these crepes.

Gotta B Crepes catered dessert at a 40th birthday party I put together for my wife and 50 people last September 2013. They were terrific. Easy to work with. Reasonable prices. It’s been 10 months and my friends are still talking about them. I HIGHLY recommend them for catered events.

Terrific crepes. Tasty with fresh ingredients. Usually excellent service and very clean despite being outside. Lately their service has gotten worse(–1 star). Part of the problem is their ordering system. You walk up to the stand, unsure where you order and it turns out the guy cooking the crepes takes your order. He then tells the person to his left what you ordered, who invariably forgets when the crêpe comes down the line. Usually, the person adding the filler to the crêpe has questions for you, so again you repeat your order. Finally, you get to the end of the line where someone asks you what you ordered so they can charge you the right amount. It’s a muddled experience that needs to get better.

We decided to have breakfast at the Evanston Farmer’s market and chose to share a blackberry crêpe at this stand. It was a plain medium-sized crêpe with about 6 – 8 blackberries in the middle – that’s it. It cost $ 10. No matter how locally sourced the ingredients are, this is a ridiculous price for what we got. I felt quite ripped off and would not patronize them again.

Although Unilocal lists this business in Evanston, it’s actually a vendor at different locations in the Chicago area — downtown and within the surrounding suburbs. I see them at the Schaumburg Farmer’s Market every Friday. Yet, I never gave them a second thought until yesterday, when I was still craving crepes from the previous night’s Unilocal event at another crêpe place. I was a bit hesitant because of the price tag(some of the crepes are $ 10), but I wanted to give them a shot. Here’s why I love them: they use fresh, local ingredients from farms they work with and the vendors at the different markets they go to. The batter includes butter, milk, eggs, and lemon honey from local farms. The fruits, veggies, meats, and cheese used in each crêpe are also seasonally and locally sourced — which is pretty amazing. The way this place does business is the way it should be. Local businesses supporting local businesses? Awesome! Gotta B Crepes offers sweet(dessert) and savory(meals) crepes — honey, chocolate, cinnamon, fruit, pizza sauce, veggies, ham & cheese, and Nutella are just a few of the ingredients in their crêpe offerings. After going back and forth between the Fiesta Veg De Sol(a salsa, veggie, and black bean crêpe) and the River Florentine, I decided upon the latter. The River Florentine has sauteed [River Valley] crimini mushrooms, caramelized onions, and local greens melted with [Cedar Grove] mozzarella and [Kathia’s] porcini mushroom sauce.(Brackets indicate which local business the ingredient is from.) It’s fun to watch them make the crepes in front of you — they’re pros at it! The crepes, after folded and cooked, are the size of a breakfast omelet. Some of them are cut up into little rolls, while others are triangles covered with strawberries and sugar. Each crêpe is a cute culinary creation. My River Florentine did a delicious dance in my mouth. I devoured it quickly, sad when it was gone. I do wish the $ 10 crêpe was a bit bigger, but it’s not a bad price to pay for the fresh ingredients and service. I saw some of the dessert crepes and drooled over them — I think I’ll get the Strawberries & Banana next time(it’s cheaper too)! As I was chowing down on my meal, I was chatting with another local business owner(just another reason that Unilocal is awesome) about this vendor and learned the story behind Gotta B Crepes. The husband and wife duo decided to start their own crêpe business after one they loved closed. They set up a crêpe station in their garage — using a pancake griddle for their creations — before moving to a commercial kitchen and appearing at farmers’ markets, supporting other businesses. You can find them at various locations this summer. Ryan runs a mean business and makes some amazing crepes. We had the pleasure of having him come into our office and he made the best crepes that I have ever had. I tried the pizza crêpe and one of the desert crepes and they were outstanding. I live downtown, so it’s not likely I will see him at the Evanston farmers market. He does have a stand at the Green City Market, so I am going to make a point of getting there with friends. If you love crepes, then you will be very happy with Gotta B Crepes!

These Crepes are amazing! I like to take advantage when they are in Capital One 360 Café on Wednesdays at Water Tower Place. I just wanna try them all! Both savory and sweet crepes are amazing and quite filling.

Gotta B has been setting up shop in the Capitol One Café in the Gold Coast on Wednesdays and it’s the best thing ever. Now I can look forward to something different for lunch once a week! The crepes are fresh and tasty, and Ryan is always fun to talk to. AWESOME.

Nice little creperie located at the Evanston farmers market. Has the feel of a Paris street vendor where crepes are freshly made in front of you. They offer both sweet and savory crepes. I had a cinnamon and roasted apple one which was pretty good. Prices are a bit high though for what you get.

Just visited while running errands on my lunch break. First of all, it’s genius that they have the skillet right at the sidewalk to show them making delicious crepes to passerby. Located near the corner of I met the owner Ryan, and he was very nice and we chatted while making me the most fantastic S’mores and More crêpe. Yummy. Think one graham cracker topped with a crêpe that was filled with marshmallows, and chocolate. Banana optional. Definitely recommend.
