Herrera Landscaping Service

I have used Herrera Landscaping for 11 years and their service quality has gone down considerably.
This year, they dug up a plant in my front yard and have yet to replace it.
More egregis is the fact that I had Jorge come out to bid on some work. We agreed on a price and I signed a contract and to this day, nothing has been done. My emails go unanswered or I am told they they will get back to me.
I spoke diretly with Lisette about this issue and she said she does not get involved with the residential service anymore but that somebody would get back to me. That was two days ago.
I am seriously thinking of changing my lawn care services for the 2015 growing season.

They have been taking care of my mother’s Winnetka home for years including a number of neighbors homes. They are polite, efficient and do a great job. I ask them to trim the back hedge, they gladly do it! I do some gardening for my mom and they always clean the clippings away, they clean the gutters in November, over seed and fertilize, treat for grubs and the lawn has never looked better since moving in the 1970s! I don’t know about those few bad reviews but their lawn service is affordable and professional.

I hired this company to remove evergreen shrubs, install a concrete patio, and re-​sod an area of about 175 SF. I paid a 50% deposit up front based on a verbal quote for the work.
A week later, the shrubs were removed and the patio installed however due to the extreme heat at that time the contractor advised against installing the sod as it would be a constant struggle to keep it wet and healthy. He recommended waiting until late August/​early September. He likewise advised against planting new shrubs/​plants until cooler weather and said he would till and clean up the area where the shrubs were removed when the sod was installed. As the vast majority of the work had already been completed satisfactorily at that point, I paid the full balance in good faith the sod would be completed as promised.
Big mistake.
It’s time for the sod and after many repeat phone calls and emails, the company is refusing to install it, claiming it was never part of the initial scope. After many phone calls, emails and visits to the site, the estimator says yes, sod; the office manager says nope, done, not sending a crew with sod.
There is clearly disagreement between the field and office staff with this company and the customer is the loser.

Seeing as how this company does not warrant any stars but I had to put one on my rating, DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY. BEWARE. I initially hired this company to cut down and stump trees in my yard. Cut them down they did. Charge me they did. Stump my tree? HA. They stumped half and left. I noticed a few days later that it was not done properly. I called Lisette Herrera and she insured me the problem would be taken care of. A month goes by and nothing. Another week my doorbell rings, and lo and behold it is the stumping company telling me they were «sent» by Herrera, but could not do the job unless he spoke to Herrera. I ensured him I had been trying to get the problem resolved for over a month. He walked away and got into his truck never to be seen again. Lisette has REFUSED to answer my calls, voicemails, etc. The biggest mistake? My husband PAID THEM IN FULL. I would have never paid them in full until the job was done to my satisfaction. To this day, I have filed a complaint against them with the Better Business Bureau, which (SURPRISE), they have also ignored. DO NOT HIRE THESE PEOPLE. Go with a reputable company and pay a little more for a complete job.
