John Vainder

This is the best G.I. doctor in Chicago; We fly to Chicago to see him. Compassionate, smart and honest. He has helped our family in so many ways deal with problems others could not handle. A true ‘doctor’s doctor”. This is the guy to see.

I have seen Dr. Vainder for my forever on-​going «tumny issues». Three things I loved about this doctor are:
1. He will not ask you to have time and money consuming, fancy procedures unless you need them.
2. He will be honest with you without scaring the s**t out of you about your condition and will explain you «whys and hows».
3. Well, he solved my issue which could not be solved almost for three years. No more bloating, stomach cramps or extreme constipation.
I am happy and would recommend Dr. Vainder to anyone who needs TLC in the tummy area.
Wait can be a little long at the office, but it will be worth it. Also the lady who handles the phone and the nurse are pleasant people, which is kinda rare at the medical offices around here.

Dr. Vainder was extremely helpful with my abdominal pain. One morning, before his office opened, I had a particularly bad episode and he took my page and had the doctors in the ER ready and waiting for my arrival.
He has a very calming demeanor and comes across as very knowledgeable. He takes the time to listen to your concerns and answer your questions without feeling rushed. Definitely would recommend.

I recently had some health scares and Dr. Vainder (GI doctor) was such a tremendous comfort to me. He was professional, calm, and even funny. He was extremely easy to talk to. I appreciated that he didn’t sugar coat anything, either, such as «Oh, you’ll be fine. I’m sure your test results will be negative.» Instead, he said, «It could be either A, B, or C… and you’ll deal with whatever your results show along with me, your PCP, and other doctors. It will be a team effort.»
It is not easy going to any doctor, particularly a specialist, but I highly recommend Dr. Vainder to any patient who needs GI care or treatment. You’ll be in great hands!
