Precision Multisport

When you have the winter blahs and need some friends to train and ride with Precision is the place to go!
They have the best trainers and coaches. Jordan, Lauren Craig and Daphne are awesome! They spent all winter helping me with my cycling skills.
They have about 20 bike trainers inside plus 3 treadmills, spin bikes and rowers. They also offer strength and agility classes.
You can store your bike there during the winter months so you don’t have to schlep your bike in your car on the days you want to ride.
They work with training peaks so every ride you do is recorded with heart rate, calories, speed and distance. It really helps me analyze where I need to improve.
They also have separate fun free events throughout the year. Girls movie night (ride while watching the chick flick of your choice) beer and bikes (ride while chugging a beer and eating snacks). These are just fun ways to break up indoor cycling rides.
The fees are reasonable for unlimited rides. They also offer triathlon performance packages so you can incorporate swim bike and run with them.

This place fully rocks.
I came here through ClassPass, and am now making a habit of using all three classes per month and thinking about buying an additional package, despite still being on ClassPass.
What’s to love here:
1) You are paying for a group fitness class and getting a personal training session. I typically go to the TRX classes (which are structured and pre-​formulated, but flexible if you are weak or injured or if an exercise just doesn’t work for you) and also to the «Base Training» sessions. These sessions entail showing up, telling the coach what you want to get out of the workout and how hard you want to go, and then getting your butt kicked with a tailored workout.
2) If you have an injury, they can and will make a workout JUST FOR YOU. After i injured my leg, I showed up and asked if I could focus on arms and upper body for the day. The coach made a full workout with me (including cardio using rowers) on the spot. Don’t be intimidated by the «crossfit-​esque» environment, this place is not only for super fit and healthy folks. Like, I would take my parents here and know that they would be in great hands.
3) No pretension or stupid rules. The coaches are laid back, real, and great at formulating tough, customized workouts. If you show up early or late, you will not get punished or turned away. They love their clients and do a great job getting to know you and treating you like a valued customer, whether you’re coming through ClassPass or going direct.
4) These workouts are hard. You walk away feeling amazing for what you achieved, regardless of fitness level.
5) These people are just good people.
So, you should go.

I wanted to write an updated review as it has been over 7 years that I started training with Craig. if could give 10 stars I would as he has change my life as an athlete and personally. He coached me in swimming for open water 10k nationals. It was very successful and placed second in a competitive age group at the time. He then coached me for my successful crossing of the English Channel in 2011. He has been there threw the ups and downs and not only taught me how to be a great swimmer but a great person. The things he thought me in the water crossed over into my every day life. leaning how to control my emotions and the mental part of the sport helped me do the same in everyday. I have gotten to know so much of the Precision staff, they all are top Level coaches. The people that have met threw this has been the best. Everyone is friendly and so supportive from running a first 5k to doing high level races. I got to know JP very well as he was a coach that got me threw a 27mile open water swim race in Canada. He is so positive and pushes but also has helped me with many things in my life. He also help me run my first 15 mile trail race. Everyone has became such a support system, from racing to everyday life. I got to know coach Claire well and she helped push me motivate me and swim some hard sets with me. We not have a great friend ship because we met threw Precision. Coach Alicia is the same she has been there threw some of my hard training times for my Marathon swims to encourage me. With out of them pulling together I was able to reach my goal. If your looking for a group to make great fiends have great coaches and amazing out comes in your race you can’t go wrong hiring any as your coach. My life has been changed and I am grateful for everyone there.

Great gym that doesn’t feel like a gym. Always a different workout to try. Love the CompuTrainer classes. Great staff that makes you feel welcome. Been going for a few years now and really enjoy the variety.

Precision Multisport… the best training studio you aren’t going to. In a world of all these franchised facilities and box gyms, this is refreshing. Personalized attention, and a variety of options. Adult and youth programs. Indoor and weather permitting outdoor training too!
This is great for triathletes of all levels; from the hesitant not sure I want to even try to the Kona qualifying elites. Yet NOT INTIMIDATING! I was amazed, as I have experienced this before. Runners, swimmers, even the every day «non athlete» person just trying to be fit can find something here.
I first came to know Precision Multisport through a winter triathlon training program I was a part of that utilized the facility for their Computrainer studio. Craig and JP have helped me train for multiple events, as well as aid me with my return to sport training after a hiatus due to injury. The studio has moved since I started trading there, and expanded. They now offer more training options, class times, etc. BASE Fitness, TRX, other training classes, a wide range of Computrainer classes, and individual trainers… all highly recommended.
I truly have learned so much during my training here. The coaches are attentive, knowledgeable, and put up with me! I am not high maintenance, just hard on myself. When I go to Precision Multisport… I do not feel like I have to BE the best, I just am encouraged to TRY my best; and everyone has off days, and are well supported here. The experience, and the way the coaches are with clients, is HUGE! I don’t feel like I am a part of a cookie cutter workout. Thank you PM!
They often have special events and other fun things. They also put on a few of the best races in Chicagoland! I travel in from the city even to train!

Len Joy — 5 starI have trained with Precision coaches Craig Strong, J.P. Bordeleau and Heather Collins for several years. They are excellent coaches who work effectively with people of all ages and athletic abilities. They have a clean, roomy no-​frills facility with an excellent computraining studio and all the usual fitness equipment. But the key to the Precision experience is the coaches — they take a personal interest in their clients and they get results.

I met Craig at master’s swimming, knowing little about swimming and nothing about triathlon. After working out with him and the rest of the Precision crew for the past 9 months, I can honestly say that it’s one of the most positive and fun communities I have experienced. Not only that, but there are tons of awesome workouts, and Craig and all the coaches are super knowledgeable about everything from training to races to the latest in equipment and technique. Thanks to the whole Precision team!

I met Craig in 2008 and I have trained with him off and on ever since. He taught me how to swim (literally), He trained me though my first sprint, Olympic, 5K swim, 70.3 and Marathon. I have tried to train on my own, but there is nothing like someone holding you accountable and being part of a group. The group workouts really push me to be better. I always feel so great after a tough workout with the PM team! I am looking forward to another successful season in 2013!

I’ve been training on my own for triathlons for the past 2 years with modest improvements (sprint, olympic, 70.3 and Ironman distances). I’m now signed up for what I consider my most important race and decided that it was time to give coaching a try to see if I could have a break through performance. Craig has been my master swim coach during that time so I naturally went with him as my triathlon training coach. Craig is knowledgeable, friendly and always willing to listen to you and provide feedback and adjust your training plan. I still haven’t competed in that A race, but in the 3 months I’ve been under Craig’s supervision I can honestly say I’ve never felt more tired (in a good way) as I do now. His workouts are really pushing me and making me improve considerably. I’m swimming, biking and running faster than ever.
In addition to him being a great coach, you also get access to his training studio (CompuTrainers, treadmills, swim bench, rollers, etc.) and to his cadre of athletes. I really enjoy swimming, biking and running with the group. They’re super friendly, funny and dedicated. Perfect environment for those cold, early mornings when its hard to get motivated.
If you’re considering getting a coach to complete your first Ironman, Sprint, 5K or whatever or if you want to improve considerably for your next one, then you should definitely consider Precision Multisport and their coaches (Craig, JP and etc.)

Craig tells the story of when we first met, I was swimming towards the deep end of the pool and he left his phone down in case he needed to jump in and save me, funny but true! I was absolutely terrified of being out of my depth and struggled to swim one length, so all of you out there that THINKS they could never do a triathlon for fear of the swim, think again. Because if i could do it anyone can with Craigs help.
Thanks to Craig I have completed 6 triathlons and knocked 40 minutes off my original time, none of this would be possible if it wasn’t for the patience and excellent coaching which I received from both Craig over the past few years and more recently J.P.
I cannot thank these guys enough, I look forward to availing of their fabulous new facility and to training with them for many years to come.

I’ve completed 9 triathlons so far in my training career with numerous coaches along the way. Craig is very knowledgeable about coaching with many years of experience. He’s passionate about coaching and loves seeing improvement among the team he trains. My most recent triathlon has been the best thus far, considerably quicker than my previous events. Service deserves a solid 5 stars. If you haven’t considered coaching, give Precision Multisport a try. You will become a better performer.

Bottom line, I hired Craig for a service, it didn’t work out, and he failed me as my Ironman coach.
