This park is used heavily for soccer and baseball but not so much for joggers or walkers which is surprising because it actually has a path going all the way around it and the fabulous Leavy center right there for bathroom breaks or water breaks. Most people flock to the lakefront which is jampacked but this is a very cute place to exercise.

This park has so many great areas to play and relax. It’s also a good option for company parties although you have to get a permit from the City of Evanston. There are tennis courts, a jungle gym for the kids, areas to barbecue, lots of different fields to play soccer, softball and baseball, etc. There is also a field house with bathrooms to use. People should come to this park to check it out.

Evanston is rife with parks, in all different shapes and sizes, and I’m fortunate enough to live a block away from James Park. It’s very well maintained, there is a walking/jogging path, it’s a great place to take our dogs for a walk, and is one of the top spots for youth soccer and baseball leagues. The only thing they need to improve is parking: during the soccer and baseball season months, Oakton is overly crowded with people parking for their kids games. It’s also incredibly dangerous, people darting back and forth across a busy street.

Best Hill to sled down in the north burbs, holler at this place when you have kids, don’t show up drunk on a broken piece of plastic and flail down the hill. Easy street parking, they used to slang hot cocoa, but no mo’. Thanks for the memories, I will be creating more with my kids. Love.
