Walked in to have a cup of coffee with a friend and maybe a pastry. Two guys stared at us and did not say a word. I aimlessly walked toward the back where I thought I ordered and I had to ask«is this where I order» not even looking up he said its back there. I walked back and saw a man, he didn’t talk. I said I would have a press. He didn’t ask me if I wanted to see a menu, or if I wanted anything else. Atmosphere was awkward, the artwork looked more like a tattoo parlor. And the music sounded like I should be on drugs. This will be my last time coming in. I make better coffee in my apartment. It wasn’t fresh, super watery

When I found out I would be traveling to Evansville, the first thing I did was search for a restaurant to meet a friend at for breakfast. I definitely wanted to stay away from corporate restaurants. I was excited to come across this place! Everything was great about PG’s! They had a great vegetarian selection. It was even written on the menu that they can make things vegetarian upon request. It’s hard to find places that are so willing to fulfill the food needs of us vegetarians! I ordered a breakfast sandwhich with veggie sausage – it was delicious! My friend enjoyed her breakfast burrito as well. They had a water carafe so that you could get your own water. I really liked that they offer the self serve water. If I ever have to come back to Evansville, I will definitely visit this place again!

Amazing food, great staff who literally run up and down the stairs just for you! Local, organic ingredients with reasonable prices. Sushi night is delish. I agree with another reviewer on the grilled cheese with bacon and fried jalepenos – it’s wonderful! I like that the gallery and the menu are both always changing and they have bands every week! Really, what’s not to like?

Super friendly staff, and delicious food that is definitely worth the wait. My only regret was only ordering a half-plate of the shiitake gravy biscuit. Seriously, you owe it to yourself to try it.

Made a special trip to check this place out and get a glass of wine. When I walked in it was empty except for four people playing music in the back. I thought maybe the bartender was in the bathroom or something, so I stood around for a few minutes. One of the musicians noticed me & said«do you need something?» Turns out he was the guy on duty. «Just tell me if you need something. I’m technically working,» he said, and went back to the music. I hung out for another half hour out of curiosity, and went unnoticed. Judging from their website and the stuff they had lying around, this seems like it could be a great local art/music space. I’d like to check out their shows sometime. But if they don’t pause the music session for a minute to help a customer, I don’t see how they’ll stay in business. I hope they get their sh** together in that regard.

We came for a quiet, leisurely breakfast and got more leisure than we bargained for. We were there, mostly waiting, for almost two hours. To be fair, the waiter told us there would be a wait at the beginning. There were four other people in the joint when we arrived, so I unwisely assumed it couldn’t be that bad. I wanted to like it, I really did. We each ordered coffee, your typical French press, somewhat inconsistently refilled. I ordered the eggs atlantic(eggs bene but with salmon instead of canadian bacon), which came with a fruit cup, and hash browns with toppings. My partner ordered all-in hash browns, vegan breakfast sausage, and a fruit cup. When we finally received our food, the server hadn’t written down the extra fruit cup or my hash browns. We let the fruit cup go(the first one didn’t taste particularly fresh) and asked for the hash browns. Once I received the hash browns, I felt compelled to eat them, which was a mistake. They didn’t come with all the toppings advertised and they were easily the greasiest hash browns I’ve ever had. My poached eggs were nearly fully cooked in the middle and the sauce was lukewarm but otherwise serviceable. I tried the vegan breakfast sausage and couldn’t take more than a bite, but my partner liked it. At the beginning, the waiter did seem«chemically influenced,» as another reviewer put it, what with the forgetfulness and erratic arm movements, which, whatever, if the food had been good. I heard the table behind me joking about this and talking about their wait and how their orders had been placed incorrectly as well. The waiter was otherwise pleasant, and it almost seemed as if he had been surprised to be expected to take orders and serve people.

A little too hipster for me and my family. We went to this restaurant in search of a gluten-friendly breakfast. What we found was a dilapidated building with a hipster staff. The host/waiter seemed to be high. He had body odor. We asked what juice they had. He said orange juice or apple cider. We ordered orange juice. And he brought out water because they were out of juice. Bacon is sometimes made with wheat smoke to cure it, which then transfers gluten onto the meat. We asked if the bacon was gluten free and then received a sarcastic, «there’s no gluten in bacon» response. I paid for my coffee and we cancelled our order and left.

Stopped in Sunday morning with the family for the first and last time to try this place out. I will emphasize the last time because the server was so hip he forgot his job was to serve customers and felt put out to even take our order. When we finally did order what sounded like an good meal, again the server was lost on his psychedelic sadness. We decided to let it slide and hoped for the best, being optimistic things would improve. Which I guess u could call our mistake. Unfortunately, after 45 minutes to make some pancakes, a smoothie, scrambled eggs and an omelet, I inquired how much longer it would take for the food, to which the sad soul questioned«why did I have an appointment or something?». After consulting with the cook? If one exists, an additional 20 minute wait was coming our way. So we canceled the order and walked past the rest of the customers whom were in the same boat. We will never know if this place is any good and thankfully will never return. Thank goodness for the power of media to convey to others not worth the wait.

Take some time to enjoy your coffee or tea. The food is totally worth the wait. Check out the current art show and play some games.

The environment is extremely cool, the music is great, and they have intriguing art for sale, healthy choices on the menu as well as the hearty meals for brunch. Didn’t serve bloody Mary’s. Would definitely not come if I was in a rush

Came here for breakfast with the family. I got the Cuban sandwich(delicious!) and everyone else had burrito or omelette. Healthy portions! Everyone couldn’t stop talking about how great the food was. We will definitely be back.

Great intimate venue that features both local and traveling acts. It is set up like a party in your parents garage, has an outdoor sitting area, and a really cozy art viewing area. Beer selection is perfect for this venue, and 40s are plenty. I love this place, and it really is a fantastic addition to Evansville.

We went to a punk rock show in an odd, dim little mess of a place, in Evansville! I have looked for this opportunity for a long time. I’m not sure what brought this place about finally, but it is most welcome. From the hodgepodge furniture up front, to the very reasonable beer prices, to the cool patio, and the very welcoming staff, they’re doing it right. One of the best parts of this is that nobody lives close to here, so they can open up the whole back of the place and you can stand on the patio right next to the bands, and they don’t need to keep it down. Looks like the eastern part of West Franklin is giving the western part a run for its money.

Had a great time at PG’s on Friday night… the B.Y.O.V. event they put on that night was pretty freakin cool & unique… I met a lot of new cool people and even saw a bunch of familar faces… colorful amazing art work lined the walls and most of it was for sale… check it out and support our local businesses of Evansville…

I came for the central location and free wifi. I made repeat visits, during the next several days. This business has an refreshing urban vibe. The food is great. I am a fan of healthy vegetarian food; served stylishly. I am also a fan of art. PG is a gem.

First off, to be fair, I am only reviewing this from the music venue aspect. With that said, I had a much more positive experience last night. My beer was served to me right away and was nice and cold. A little later in the evening, a total stranger bought one for me for no reason at all other than random kindness. That made my night! Although still cramped up, the room in which the bands play was made more spacious with the large door to the adjoining patio raised. Parking of course was still an issue. However, there are plenty of spaces nearby. In particular, the lots behind the building and Tin Man Brewing right next door. Won’t say the place is perfect. But am glad I gave it another chance.

Fantastic! I’ve been looking for a place that serves awesome veggie options with local produce and cold press coffee and here it is! I don’t know what hemp milk is but I appreciate that they provide it!

My friends and I were in Evansville for some college ball. We hail from Chicago and were looking for a fun place with great food and we found it! I really love that PG uses local ingredients. The food was spectacular. My best friend’s daughters loved their berry shakes and cinnamon silver dollar pancakes. They came with pink sprinkled hearts which made the girls love them even more. My best friend and her fiancé had a breakfast burrito and biscuits and gravy with shiitake mushrooms. The shiitake mushroom gravy was a delight and refreshing from the usual gravy. I had the jalapeño popper bacon grilled cheese. Yes it exists and it was fabulous. We had great conversation with the owner and he made the most delightful freshly squeezed blood orange mimosas and if he sold those bottled, we would have bought a case. The atmosphere was relaxing and quaint. I did not find the place to be too artsy. I am an artist but hate some of the pretentious artsy bullshit and there was none of that. It felt more like hanging out at a friends house, mind you a friend who can make excellent food and drinks. We all wished we could’ve packed the joint up and taken it to Chicago with us. I highly recommend this establishment.

A real Portland vibe, right here in Evansville. I expected to encounter the typical coffee shop fare, but was pleasantly surprised to find a number if unique and eclectic breakfast and lunch items. We split a tasty English muffin sandwich(with pesto) and a grilled cheese sandwich with jalapeño poppers cooked inside. They also had some inviting flavored soda options, but I opted for a can of Tin Man, located next door. If you value uniqueness and want to get a taste of Portland’s quirky culture, come check this place out. I know that I’ll be back.
