STILL! As good as it every was… especially if you are a PEPPERHEAD! The Sanchos are MILES above any other FF Mexican (even with an EXCELLENT Tacos Johns a couple of miles away)! The haters will hate on the «authenticity» of the product… yeah…this is EVANSVILLE, INDIANA folks…90% of the eaters here equates the best Chinese food with the «best» buffet… I needn’t say more. It’s simple, tasty food… the hot sauce is HOT… the veggies are fresh…****drops mic****

If you notice the reviews, most people that have been exposed to good «authentic» mexican food do NOT give this place a favorable review. There is a good reason for this… This place was an extreme disappointment, not only in food presentation but most importantly, taste. They use a bar b q taste sauce that belongs on smoked meat… NOT MEXICAN FOOD! It was terrible. Once was more than enough, we wont go back

Didn’t try this place for many, many years, now that I have found it I can’t quit eating there! They have a special flavor to their sauce and its just awesome. Always consistent, great portions and quick, friendly staff. I have found my new lunch «go to» place on the east side! Drive thru is quick too. They come outside to get your order so it’s ready when you pull up to pay. I usually get 3 soft shell chicken tacos (2.14 each!) and its really good grilled, sliced chicken. REAL CHICKEN, and you can tell because its chunks, not shredded. I have become a regular there, great place to dine in also, very clean and friendly inside.

Menu is rather hit or miss. Don’t bother with their salsa… it tastes like ketchup. Things on their menu worth getting: fish taco (decent, but not great) & soft taco (not great, very basic).
Reason to come here: It’s cheap.

Absolutely love TACO T! Every single time I’m in southern Indiana its almost always my first stop! I usually get a sancho with a side of chips and cheese (not nachos — that’s different) The apple strips are amazing and they use that amazingly good ice in their drinks… you know what I mean! ;) if you get a come back cup (collect them all!) they refill it at a fraction of the cost as many times as you wish! This local chain is to die for! You’ve just got to check it out!

I’m on the fence when it comes to Taco Tierra. On one hand the food is always hot and fresh tasting. On the other hand, there is something missing, maybe some Mexican seasoning or something, I can’t put my finger on it. Everything is just a little bland for my taste. I typically get a bean burrito with the Hot as Hell sauce, which adds a nice flavor, but without the hot sauce the burrito is really blah. The Nacho Papas are good too, when dunked in hot sauce or cheese sauce. The service is good and generally fast, you either order at the window, or if there’s a line they will come to your car.

A must eat every time I come back to my hometown or visiting family in Mt. Carmel (home of the original Taco Tierra). My usual is a chicken sancho with medium sauce or a chicken nachoback taco with medium sauce along with a large cherry diet dr. pepper. Delish! Taco salads and nachos are good too. Fridays are fish taco day which sounds odd but are surprisingly yummy. You can’t go wrong here. They even have a happy hour in the afternoon for drinks. If you are craving something sweet try the cinnamon apple strips. Try this place and you will be hooked.
