I am very picky. Very few places meet my level of expectations in the quality of food they offer. Well this place has done it. I got the pulled pork with no rub and sauce on the side, crinkle cut french fries and american potato salad and all were great. I have done this 4 times in 3 weeks and it was great each time. And the staff are so nice.

Terrible barbecue. I gave it one star because I couldn’t give it any less. It’s well worth passing up and head to Hawg n Sauce in Mt. Vernon! Also met the owner and he was a total jerk. Stay away.

We were looking for a place to have lunch on the west side. We came upon Wilson’s General Store & Café. My wife saw the 1964 sign as a sign that we should try this restaurant since it was a lucky year for her. We were not disappointed. We both chose the stuffed pork barbecue potato. It was the largest and best one we have ever tasted. While waiting for our food, I perused the many pictures, signs and items within the store. For great barbecue, I highly recommend this place.

We selected Evansville for a small family reunion. On a Sat night before we left, they wanted BBQ. Since I have been to Wilson’s on other visits, I knew exactly where to take them. We walked in 14 strong and could not have been treated any better. The group told me that it was the best BBQ they have ever had. Thanks again Wilson’s hope to see you again soon.

Excellent BBQ ribs, had the baked beans and fried potatoes with onions too. Good meal — eclectic atmosphere. Wait staff did a good job.

They have the best BBQ sauce I’ve ever tasted, and their pulled pork is tops. Their mac and cheese needs what I think is a little salt, but I can live with that, and their sides leave a little something to be desired as they don’t have many of the type of sides I like although they do have a decent amount of sides. And their chicken is always a little dry. But their brisket is always good, and their ribs are good, too. But seriously, the best thing there is the pulled pork.
