Armor Fence Construction

I always thought of myself as a patient man, but this guy really tested me. Where do I start…
1. Appointment — Chuck showed up late with an excuse about leaving his phone in a gas station. Little did I know, I would receive a million excuses.
2. Quote — He was the lowest, but inaccurate. Ended up almost the same as my trusted contractor, but without the quality of work. He will give you the lowest, but I think it’s a bait.
3. Quality of work — The quality of work is so, so. I find some things I have to redo myself. Contact the guy for fencing work and possible retaining wall work, but that’s it. That’s the one a star I am giving him in the review. I spent some money in the backyard, and I think he was over his head on this project.
4. Commitment — He gave me 5 different finish dates, he didn’t meet any of them. He disappeared for a little while and I had to hunt him down to finish my backyard. He asked permission to do other projects, but didn’t show up on the return date. A 3 week project ended up 3 months, and he is still not done.
5. Overall Work — This is a one man show. He doesn’t have any helpers. He is also a messy contractor, I ended up cleaning after him. Unlike my previous contractor, he would clean up everyday after his work, this guy doesn’t. He took over the yard for a complete 3 months and it was a mess. It’s something I wouldn’t want someone else to endure.

Chuck’s bid was by far the lowest of the 4 bids I obtained to replace a 75 foot section of cedar fencing. Chuck is the owner of Armor Fence and did most of the work by himself although he did have a helper part of the time. When my neighbor learned I was having this project done, she also hired Chuck to replace fencing on her property. We are both very pleased with the price and the quality of the work done. Chuck told me he has been building fences for 30 years. When you watch him work, you will believe it. Efficiency and quality. Armor is based in Everett, WA; I live in Redmond, WA, so he is willing to travel a bit.
