Hearing all the raving in the ‘ville(and tied to a particularly nasty craving for fried seafood), we ventured forth to Everett, seeking out the wonderment of Captain’s Quarters. Counter service in a large, impeccably clean space with a decent selection of fish, crustaceans and other deep-fryables. Her chicken tenders were Sysco quality, which is fine for a late night quick-fix but I guess I expected more from a 5-star independent biz. The quantities are plentiful, and if you get the ordering dynamic down, you’ll leave stuffed for around $ 10. What dynamic, you ask? There are tucked away combos, plates and meals that initially stand out, but at the right time, can save some cabbage. She originally asked for a small chicken finger($ 6) with a small side of fries($ 2.75), but noticed(almost too late!) a dinner plate featuring the same items plus cole slaw for a $ 1.25 less. Jam on it. The kid saw his $ 8.50 fish & chips plate immediately and went for the kill. Again, portions are outrageous — a whole lotta food. The schrod was fried beautifully in bite-size morsels but showed a hefty amount of the darker, more alkali meat close to silver skin. Would have loved to see more of the flaky white. Fries are previously frozen and mass produced; salt to your liking. Really friendly service, with profuse apologies for running out of chicken tenders thus adding to the 30 minute wait. Plus, I’m digging the slightly sadistic décor, with life goldfish centerpieces at every table. «Hey pal, I found Nemo. Nom nom nom.» Brutal. Maybe not as sadistic, but just as notable –Family Feud plays on the sole dining room telly. That Steve Harvey is quite the character! I can appreciate the local love and would give the Captain another go in a heartbeat, but with mediocre food and an atypical lunchtime wait, three it will be.

Ok so had to come back to review the new meals… Was driving by the other night & noticed they had Baked stuffed now & If you have read my other review you know that ITSMYFAVE… So the bf mentioned getting somthing & I thought«Ooh seafood would be good» Then I remembered ITSTHURSDAY! They deliver… So I called and did the same thing as last time — asked a ton of questions because I wanted to know all about the items in the window & not on the window… So I ordered my Baked Stuff, the Cheeseburger & the BF’s Cheeseburger Plate 30 minutes he told me & really in 30 minutes they were there… AMAZED… Smells were all over the house & I Couldnt wait to open… 1. The cheeseburger had stuff on it(Lettuce, Tom, all that) the BF hates anything & I didnt ask for it so if ordering from here & want plain just mention, I assumed that they would ask if I wanted anything on it… He was a little irritated(hes High Maintenance) but nothing he couldnt just pull off & he said it was good & thats big for him! 2, The Baked Stuffed Shrimp was DELISH… My greedy self would have liked more shrimp, there was only 3, but the veggies were great & the potato is a potato it was good! 3. The clams were Good & didnt really taste clamy if that makes sense… They were delicious tasting just not overly fishy, hard to really explain but they were good! 4. Onion Rings were good, but mostly fell apart in the bag! Maybe they were bagged too hot! All in all still a great go to spot for me! Prices are great, food is great! So glad they are back in business!

Thank you for coming back to Everett! It’s been too long since I’ve been able to get amazing seafood in the area. Mmmmmmm, scallops… mmmmmm, clams. Definitely very high quality, great prices — easy five stars.

I was excited when I heard that Captain’s Quarters was reopening in Everett as I was a big fan when they were located on the parkway. It seems that since Abbondanza’s renovation and their move away from fried seafood, there was nowhere left in Everett to get great fried fish at reasonable prices. My first trip back to Captains Quarters, we ate in the restaurant instead of take out. The restaurant(the old Sal’s Pizza) was large and clean. They did a great job on the buildout. I had a scallop plate, while my guests had the fisherman’s platter and the cajun grilled swordfish. All the fried fish was great. The fish was all super fresh tasting, and not greasy at all. My friends said the haddock on the fisherman’s platter was among the best they had ever had, beautifully flaky and no greasy flavor. The swordfish looked great and smelled even better. My friend said they were a little heavy on the cajun seasoning, but she is not a big fan of very spicy food. If you are a heat-seaker you should be fine, but maybe you should ask for light cajun if you are spice sensitive. She said the flavor of the seasoning however was very good. We all had fries and cole slaw with our dinners, and the fries were good middle range fries, not as thin and crisp as shoestring, but not as thick as steak fries. They went great with the awesome house made tartar sauce(which I’ve missed ever since the original location closed). The cole slaw was good, crisp veggies in a nice tangy sauce. It was great being able to visit Captain’s Quarters again. I think the residents of Everett are going to be very happy that these guys have come back on the scene!

Had a last minute meal here last week with a group of friends. This is the new location on Broadway in Everett, not the old location. The service and food were excellent. I had grilled salmon, fries, garlic bread, and mozzarella sticks. The salmon was cooked perfectly. My friends all really enjoyed their meals as well. When it came time to pay, it was so refreshing to have a low bill for such good food! I will be back for sure. Regarding the space itself, it just needs some touches like plants, paintings, and maybe some better lighting.
