Delicious!!! My new favorite lunch spot, for authentic Mexican. Small, quaint, super clean, roasting their meat on a grill… delicious!

Chicken is great, but service is still very poor. Server has an attitude. Very loud TV noise in Spanish is annoying.

The food is great but the customer service is very very terrible! It’s so unfortunate because I really love the food here. The young girl that takes the orders has no idea what’s on the menu, she doesn’t know the prices or what’s included, gets the order in completely wrong and on top of all of that she has the audacity to have a rude attitude the whole time. I love the food so much that I gave this place a second chance but nope my order was still wrong and I got attitude from her and the woman that was grilling the chickens. The older woman was talking about me in Spanish(I lost it but I cAn still understand it). Beyond rude and unprofessional. I won’t be coming back for a few months, in hopes that they have some different employees there.

Mexican chicken! I almost always get the Combo with the wing/drummet and breast. The skin is so tasty and the meat is so moist. Eat this with the tortillas and add the hot sauce… can’t go wrong. It’s also cheap! A go-to spot for lunch

Not exactly El Pollo Loco but close enough.

Being a gringo from Southern California this place has filled a serious Mexi-chicken hole in my stomach. Enchiladas, carene asada, it’s all good. Not the same as El Pollo Loco, of course, but great!

This is as close to el pollo loco as you can get in these parts. Tasty marinated grilled chicken. Just tear it apart, toss into tortilla, and add lots of their salsa. Yum. Only issue is the nearby neighborhood is kinda scary.

Was in the mood for a burrito and this place hit the spot. Had a Carne Asada burrito for about $ 5 bucks. I’ll be back to try the chicken.

No bueno. Can’t compare to El pollo loco. Chicken in this place is malnourished and dry.

I grew up in California where I had access to El Pollo Loco. Here in Seattle, I miss that type of cuisine… food. El Pollo Rico is kind of like this. They are missing a couple of things that I’m accustomed to but on the other hand, they try to fill my void. I’m used to going up to the counter, ordering and getting my grilled chicken a few minutes later. Here, they kind of make the chicken made to order… meaning you might have to wait a half hour while you wait for them to grill a bunch of half chickens for your order and other orders that might be ahead or after yours. They have good hot sauce and good tortillas. I miss the coleslaw and the salsa. I like to order food and bring it home where I can make the side dishes to fulfill my experience. We also tried the tacos and the chicken soup. I thought that the chicken soup was pretty special. I wasn’t expecting much, but the broth was rich with flavor. The tacos were good, but there are other places in the Seattle area where you can get good quality tacos like this. Once again, I would have liked these more if there was guacamole or salsa or chopped cabbage or cheese options to accompany. This is good food that has the potential to be even better.

I walked in and I was the only Gringo in there. every thing is in Spanish, but that is OK I speak food Spanish well. Here is why they didn’t get 5 stars from me. I ordered the house specialty the charbroiled chicken. I Think I may have gotten the Gringo special. The taste was very good but it was dry o so very dry what a disappointment after sitting there smelling this beautiful chicken smell and bite into mine and it was so dry. I will try them again hopefully it will be better.

I agree with Ben C. if you walk up to this place you won’t be impressed, but if you don’t go in you’ll be missing out on some of the best Mexican food in Washington state! If you’ve ever been to El Pollo Loco in California, this place is very similar. I’ve known about El Pollo Rico for years and went there for lunch when I worked in Everett six years ago. Many of the patrons are local Mexican laborers on the way back from a nearby construction project. The chicken is marinated in a secret sauce made of various spices and fruit juices and then grilled to the peak of perfection! Yum!!! It is one of the best kept secrets around. Just about everyone that goes here speaks Spanish natively and I love being the only Gringo inside because I’m the Gringo that’s in on the secret! The asada tacos are equally wonderful and are served with either corn or flour tortillas and are garnished with cilantro, onions, and radishes. You’ll be given homemade salsa, and a homemade green and red chili sauce to season your meal with. One goes here for the food and not the atmosphere! This is absolutely my favorite Mexican restaurant in the state for flavor!

If you walk up to this place, you might want to turn around because of how it looks. It would be a mistake, you can trust me. Grilled Chicken is the house specialty. I have driven to Everett to eat here twice after I happened upon this place. Speaking Spanish is a plus when you order here, but not necessary. The chicken is grilled on a 8 foot iron grill to perection after being marinated in a liquid that leaves the skin sweet and crispy, and the meat sweet and delicious. Awesome home style frijoles and rice served with the ½ chicken and full chicken meals. I really recommend trying this place out if you are in the area.
