Mike’s Roast Beef

First things first I’m back baby I’m here at mikes roast beef in Saugus and I got a steak and cheese and the food cost $ 10.00 and I gave him a 20 and this guy has the balls to give me no money back the reason I game him a 1 star is the only thing that is good is the orange soda here are some pictures #imonanewlevel

I haven’t been here in over 10 years and their roast beef supreme is better than I remember! Really great place! Good job guys for keeping up with the good work!

The roast beef was all right but my thing I’m bitching about is a couple of us left the Sox game and went there after 12 am and we were feeling good.lol. the place was empty and there were 2 state cops out front. I asked to go to the bathroom and the women behind the counter was like no bathrooms. really 2016 and no bathrooms when from 12 – 2 am its a shitshow .so we left and went to McDonald’s on the parkway. so if u go late bring a bucket cause god forbid u need to hit the head.

This review is for my love of their Lobster Roll. It’s packed and it’s delicious. I want to warn you, it’s made with Mayo. If this is a problem, you and I can’t be friends. I understand the love of butter, and hell I can’t eat hot lobster without it, however; this is lobster salad people, like tuna salad, crab meat salad it’s made with mayo…
Finished a Celtics game, stop here after, finished a Bruins game, stop here after. Oh you just saw a show in Boston, stop here after. Did you just see the Red Sox game and leave early to beat traffic, well then go to Mikes with all that time you saved.
The order taker, usually quick and can understand drunk talk. The place is well lit and has easy parking. I would give it 5 stars, but you need to give a good douching and keep up with the counter top as well for that in my opinion.

i will never ever return to this location. we called 5 times to place an order and they hung up every time, i go in and complain the lady was so rude to me. they were not even busy so im confused as to why they couldnt answer the phone. the lady then refused to even take my order so i left and will never go back. she should be fired.

Staff is always friendly. I was back and fourth between a roast beef sandwich and chicken ceaser wrap one day and I ended up going with the wrap and the cook overheard me going back and fourth and put a roast beef sandwich in my bag because he knew I wanted to try it. Well. I’m sold on both and I go back quite frequently.
Chicken ceaser wraps are amazing.
Roast beef sandwich was great
Lobster roll was packed with lobster and good size
Grilled cheese was great

I’ve been a regular at mikes for years as we all have been after today’s experience I’ll pass seafood platter was utterly disgusting shrimp tasted sour/​weird tarter was gross and not fresh like who messes up tarter sauce? Lol come on roast beef Sandwich was dry the food just wasn’t the same very disappointed I assume their banking on who they used to be mikes roast beef? Yea I’ll pass

Got to get the Roast beef with cheese, pickles, mayo, grilled. Yup.

Their food is consistently delicious!

Had the super roast beef sandwich last night with provolone and mayo. Decent sandwich. The flavor of the roast beef is among the best I have ever tasted. A lot of people cover it with the sauce. In my estimation this is a mistake for anyone who likes real meat flavor.
I have heard the clams are the main event here but I didn’t have room for both.
Based on the sandwich it’s worth a return visit.

This place may be one of the worse places to get food. It’s over price and not worth the money. I got the chicken wing and onion rings. It was greasy and under cook. Stay away if you do not want to feel ripped off.

I go for the roast beef with sauce. Fries are cooked perfect nice and crispy. The best in mass. Yes better than Kelly’s. Indoor seating. Fast friendly service. You can’t go wrong. It’s worth the drive from anywhere.
I am from the south shore and go here just to eat.

So today Mikes Roast Beef scammed me. I was craving some fried clams and ordered a large for $ 18. My sister picked up the order and didn’t open it until she was home. First off the large is literally a small french fry box, maybe 4″. What pissed me off the most was that it was under cooked. I wanted fried clams not sushi. They should take their time cooking even during peak hours because people can seriously get sick from stuff like this. And if you can’t do it right than don’t do it at all. I called and complained and the lady on the phone told me that’s the way they do it and didn’t even apologize, obviously because she didn’t care. I’m confused because this is the first time that they’ve pissed me off like this though all I’ve ever ordered from them before was subs/​chicken wings. I will have to be more selective with them, can’t support that they skim on stuff like this. A large side of fried clams from liberty bell is $ 12 and they put it in a regular to go plate, maybe Mike should take note.

Was recommended by our cab driver and he was right, great roast beef sandwiches! It’s already a favorite of ours!

The wife and i kept meaning to get roast beef some night, constantly noting the proliferation of roast beef places the further north you go. She would always consider this normal, expected, whereas i, from the south shore was not used to it. Weird. Anyway, not having grown up with it, i was even more excited.
So, one night after dropping a crapload of money on groceries at the basket, including a dinner for that night, we said, you know what, i’m hungry, and pulled into Mike’s when we spotted it on the way home.
i had a roast beef and cheese and i think barbecue sauce which was messy and awesome. The curly fries probably come out of the same bag as everyone else’s, but whatever they fry them in has been aged, cured, tweaked, fermented, whatever, to perfection. They are outstanding. It’s not the sort of place you want to hang out, but that’s okay, it’s a short drive home for us.
Next time i’m getting a thing of fries for the car ride, too.

Came here late one night about a year ago.
Service was… Kind of awkward.
The girl taking orders was having a racially insensitive conversation with a customer (or friend?) who was waiting for food and gave me an embarrassed look and just hushed the person up.
Okay.
Ordered a roast beef sandwich and a lobster roll, to go.
Drove home about half a mile.
Food was… Meh. The lobster roll was not very flavorful at all. The roast beef sandwich not very memorable, either. It was kind of disappointing because I think I expected it to be good. Maybe they were having an off night, so I will give them that.
However, it’s unlikely I will go back there because I’m quite sure that one of those two items got both myself and my boyfriend sick.
We definitely felt quite ill several hours later and we really had not had much food that day besides the food from Mike’s.
So… Yeah. Not a fan, sorry.
I think I would rather drive down the street to Kelly’s.
