I will not ever use this business again. Although I had one good experience with them, and the majority of employees seem very professional and knowledgeable, I had an encounter with a real«piece of work» that left me shaken. I was returning to repay a loan. A young woman told me I had to pay cash. Not having experience with this type of business, I was not aware of that, so I said«thank you and I will return shortly.» When I returned from the cash machine — a young man waited on me. The young woman was standing in a doorway arguing with another employee who seems to be trying to help her with a policy. She suddenly exploded and yelled, «I know! I am not retarded!». I found this statement to be extremely upsetting. I finished my transaction, shaking to my core, and the young man who was helping me said«I hope you will come back soon» I said, «Oh no, after what I just heard I will not be back» and he asked me what I had heard. I pointed to the woman and said«She made a very offensive remark about a class of people who she knows nothing about» She heard me and blew up again! She started yelling at me, telling me she could say anything she wanted, it is a free country, and she has a right to defend herself any time someone tells her something she feels is wrong! She went on and on, was completely out of control, and said she hoped her opinion didn’t ruin my whole day. I am in control of who affects my day — and I can say, even though this was an extremely uncomfortable and upsetting situation, I refuse to let people of such low intelligence and social awareness ruin my day. I can only keep that control by refusing to put myself in a position where that kind of behavior is exhibited and will not be going back to Pawn Pros. There are dozens of like businesses in our area, and if I feel the need, I will go to one of them. FYI: I did call the main offices of Pawn Pros and asked to talk to a high level person in authority. I was told he was out and my information was taken and I was told he would call me back. One week later I had not heard back, so I called again. I was connected with this person, told him my story, was told«well, sometimes customers get out of line in our business and we get angry back» but that he would look into the incident and be sure it was taken care of. I will never know if that happened because I will not go back.
