This location constantly has a poor selection of products. Plus the deli meats always seem to look old and of course waaaay overpriced. Today the store was out of plastic bags. Brown bags? Really? For the prices charged(stop and rob is more like it), at least have bags. I only go to this store when I’m too busy to hit MB, which is always much better for prices and selection and freshness. Has the management of stop and shop ever done a price comparison with MB??? I think not. Please improve and stop embarrassing the(used to be) good stop and shop name.

Whenever in Chelsea and in the need of some flowers, we stop in at this Stop & Shop location. This store located in Everett is large, clean, and well organized. The selection here is amazing and they have a great floral section. This store also has a nice greeting card section which is a plus when in a rush. Overall, it is conveniently located, easy to get in and out of, and less packed than Market Basket. That being said, the prices are a bit higher, but they have some products the other stores don’t have.

This store needs some attention. We arrived around 7pm on a Monday, and couldn’t find any shopping carts inside or outside the store. We went and retrieved one from the parking lot. The baskets for produce were almost empty(which I’ve never seen before at a Stop and Shop). On the 1st aisle(for sale items), something red(juice?) was spilled all over the floor, but someone had just put some paper over it(instead of cleaning it). There were almost no employees around to help us. We ended up doing the self-checkout system, as to not have to interact with the few employees that were there. You can tell this location has long been neglected, as they are using old signage for the aisle markers. Those were signs I haven’t seen in years! Please make an effort to clean up this location. It really needs the attention! Especially when Market Basket is on strike, there’s not many options for us to shop at.

Pros: There’s a Wendy’s in the same parking lot Cons: it’s a disgusting cess hole of filth and depravity. I’m convinced that all the other Stop and Shops send their expired produce here to be sold at twice the price. The only thing more rotten than the fruit is attitude of the employees and the army of toothless Zombies that shop there. As an added bonus the Men’s room floor is constantly soaked in urine regardless of the time of day. The only reason I shop here is because it’s a mile from my house and it’s a slight upgrade from feeding my family out of a dumpster.

Not a huge fan of Stop & Shop. This mid level type of supermarket is caught between the inexpensive options like Market Basket and the high end niche providers like Trader Joes and Whole Foods. A dying breed.

I get my grocery shopping done at this Stop and Shop location pretty much every week. I used to go to Market Basket, but I could never find a time where I didn’t have to fight off hordes of people to get my food. This store is rarely crowded(actually, it’s more of a ghost town then anything). I think the employees here are really friendly. I’ve had a lot of them ask me what I am going to do with ingredients I am buying and they seem geniunely interested in trying new things. The friendliness of their staff is definitely a plus. They have a wide variety of different products. The meat selection isn’t too shabby either. The downside to this location is really my two favorite things to buy while grocery shopping: Fish and Cheese. Now pretty much all Stop and Shops have a poor cheese selection, but the one here is small and the products they sell never change. The fish section is very small and I think it gets wrapped up and brought over from the Stop and Shop that’s located near Station Landing. I’ve never seen more than 4 registers open at a time. Even though this location is never too packed, it can cause long checkout times if you go at a busy time. You will certainly pay more for groceries here than you would at Market Basket, but I think the quality of food is a little higher. I do make extra stops if I want to buy fish. The store is clean. Based on previous reviews, it looks like it had been dirty-looking for a while, so I wanted to be sure to point out that I don’t feel gross shopping here. All in all, it’s just your average run of the mill grocery store. You aren’t going to be wowed by anything they sell, but you don’t have to deal with the stress level that Market Basket crowds can cause.

I’ve always liked Stop and Shop. Wide aisles, self check out and friendly staff who are indigenous to the area. Everything I need and want and savings rewards for gas. Cool right? Problem is that you pay a high premium to get all that. But sometimes I still like the convenience of going here on occasion/payday.

Its pricey, and I dont love that… But it is 1000% better than Market Basket just in terms of Atmosphere, whenever I go to MB I get soo stressed & end up usually on the verge of going to jail for assault… I cant go there anymore, I end up cussing out too many people & dont look like a good parent with child in tow… So I endure Stop & Shop for most things I cant get at Price Rite(which is great if you can deal with non brand name things)…

This Stop & Shop sucks. It is one of those places that feels dirty the second you walk in. And i don’t know about you but I prefer my grocery shopping to be done somewhere that seems clean. Do NOT get fish here. I made the mistake of doing this twice and both times I ended up with revoltingly spoiled fish that stunk up my kitchen for days. Do not get produce here. You ever try to buy produce a few days ahead of its ripeness so that it lasts longer? Well that won’t happen here. Bananas are spotted already. Avoid the deli section unless you enjoy being hit on by bored 16-year-olds with their boxers showing. Stick to the non-perishable aisles and you are probably fine. Otherwise, I’d recommend heading over to route 1a in Revere for a much better place to stop and shop.

This place isn’t that bad, but man, I ventured in here the other day as a break from my recent Market Basket addiction… and I’m not kidding: the place was empty. It was freaky. I think the Market Basket is seriously leeching customers from them. I would feel sorry, but that Market Basket is one gigantic and cheap and exciting supermarket. Addiction resumed. Sorry Stop & Shop, you’re just not as good.

Someone call the board of health, this place is disgusting. A few weeks ago, my sister and I went shopping and the top of a jello box was encrusted with rat feces. Yesterday I went to purchase a dry goods product, which had been nibbled on, and there it was again — mouse droppings. The customer service is shoddy at best, there are working class disgruntled employees and high school kids who are too busy gossiping. I’ve been to the other S&S’s in Revere that have nasty habits(i.e., putting back rotten food after a customer has returned it), but the feces is DISGUSTING!

I simply love this place. I don’t care that the Market Basket is closer to my house. I will drive the extra 3 minutes to go to the Super Stop & Shop because it is THAT much better(plus, there is a Wendy’s across the street and I am somewhat addicted to their Strawberry Frosty Shakes). Anyway, this place has just about everything you could ask for — in addition to your standard supermarket fare, they have a pretty awesome deli counter, a section for organic/natural foods, a florist, a bakery(the cakes there are actually VERY good, and they will write whatever you want on them), a whole aisle for books, another aisle for seasonal stuff, etc. etc. The Market Basket has a whole aisle dedicated to GOYA products. Need I say more? Oh, and they have a REDBOX! Did I mention that? You can rent DVDs for $ 1/night! And they have new releases and stuff. It’s much better than Netflix or any video store you will find. My personal favorite thing about it is the self-checkout aisles. I never get a whole ton of stuff when I go… just a few things here and there. I like being able to scan my own items, bag them in my recyclable bag, and be on my merry way. As little human contact as possible pleases me greatly. The prices here are a smidge higher than what I would find at the Market Basket, and for that, I had to deduct a star. Also, at another Stop & Shop I’ve been to, they had those scanner guns you could take with you while you shopped and scan in everything WHILE you were shopping, and that saved me mucho time at the checkout counter. This one doesn’t have that… yet(hopefully soon!). My only other complaint is that they used to be open 24 hours, but now they actually close at a decent hour(like 11pm on weekdays and I think 9pm on Sundays). I’m one of those weird people who will get the urge to go grocery shopping at midnight or 1am, so those limited hours don’t really work for me :-( Oh, and there’s also a Citizens Bank inside, and it’s open on Sundays. I don’t even bank at Citizens, but that’s gotta be pretty cool, right?

Shopped here the other day — it’s pretty much your standard Stop and Shop. Not super huge but moderate-sized. No gas station like at the one in Medford that I could see. Would go to again.
