Went to an estate sale today at The Manor… guess all the issues that people referred to here on Unilocal were insurmountable because everything — and I do mean everything — was for sale and today it was 25% off, tomorrow it is 50% off. There were rooms full of holiday ornaments (Christmas, Halloween, Easter, Marci Gras, etc.), all the furniture, all kitchen &‘serving equipment, all the staff uniforms, bottles and bottles of wines and liquor (many bottles were opened), tons of books, even the clothes from the private rooms upstairs of the caretakers. I agree with what people wrote, about the buildings and the gardens — gorgeous. Just seems a little sad…

My wedding is in July and the lack of communication is getting worse. If this improves and/​or my wedding is beyond amazing I’ll edit my review but this makes me extremely nervous. Does anyone that has had their wedding here have any advice with the concerns I have?

I had the same problem as many of the other reviews. Fell in love with this space and it’s beauty, had a great wedding ceremony and reception. But the staff was not helpful at all with anything the day of the wedding. At least my family helped out. Never got our damage deposits back and we got married in May of 2011. Too bad the communication was poor, and we never got what we were promised.

Venue was nice and provided great value. Wedding day went well and smooth however communication was a struggle throughout planning and after wedding. After we place our deposit it was even harder to receive return calls for questions. Then after wedding we were lied to with regards to receiving payment for our damage deposit. After over a month of false promises after our wedding date and more lies we had to use our lawyer just to receive our damage deposit. This left such a sour and frustrating situation that I would never refer or do future events here. I wish this didn’t happen to our wedding venue because it ruins the thoughts of our wedding with how much stress they put us through.
