Who doesn’t love the library? If you don’t try it out sometime, seriously. I enjoy an endless selection of browsing at my leisure over countless topics from fine literature to coffee table books about exotic places to advice on what color should I paint my bathroom. I NEED this kind of diversity in my life and it’s FREE! For me the library could serve as a mini armchair vacation, or feed my brain with important knowledge about the Kaluza-Klein Theory, or entertain me with the best recipe for making huge bubbles or make me the life of the party by providing a video on Salsa Dancing instruction. I want to sing a love song about how I feel about the library and I bet there is a book on how to compose said melody. Actually, there is a pretty catchy tune on YouTube called the Dewey Decimal Rap, watch it, and if you haven’t understood how the library works, he’ll rap it out for you. Ol’ Dewy was a pretty Smart Cookie. Oh, did I mention that it’s all for FREE? Unless of course you can’t part with your engrossing novella in three weeks time, in which case they’ll charge you an enormous fee of $ 0.40 whole cents a day. Even so, who cares? That money goes back to the library, which I would actually pay for if it wasn’t already free! And on the rare occasion I can’t find exactly what I’m looking for, there is always a friendly and intelligent Research Librarian available to assist. Talk about Smart Cookies, these peeps know where it’s at. I’m certain there a hundred more resources available to me that I haven’t yet tapped into, I see info about stuff for kids and teens, movies, presentations, and all kinds of other interesting events, but for now, I’m content to cruise the aisles in search of things I didn’t even know I was interested in.
