Gym staff is constantly wiping down, resetting, and cleaning up the gym. It’s getting more crowded as time goes on, due to more members, but it’s still worth it!

I’m here in their «ballroom» for a conference. Great space, clean, and ono buffet! Finding Kroc was easy and there was adequate free parking.

Was planning on having my sons first birthday party here called several times to have somebody call me back but no one ever called me back very disappointing and now I’m reading such bad reviews on customer service i’m giving a one star very very very disappointed. Upper management needs to be informed or changed!!!

Wow!!! Been here for over a year… today they stop me from going in because I had a monster drink. Been consistently coming here about 3 – 4, up to 6 days a week… but today the security stops me from bringing in a workout drink?!
1. Im in gym clothes.
2. Not in waterpark/​swim clothes.
3. Obviously Im not a cheapie that is trying to not buy food from the café when on a pool break.
4. The manager questions if they sell that in the vending machines. NO manager, you should know you only sell powerade, some awful protein drink, and dasani water.
WAIT so does that mean U cant bring any other water into KROC? Hmmm…
But you can put whatever you want in a water bottle and they cant ask you whats in it…
I am upset, why? Because Ive been doin it over a year. The manager says sorry for being INCONSISTENT (for about a year?!)…
So makes me think… how can they be more consistent??? The following:
A. They can be more consistent in wiping machines down, or telling others to wipe it down after they are done because thats gross!
B. They can consistently change the wiping towels more often! So its not drowning wet and unbearable to use. Then maybe people would use it to wipe down —back to A.
C. They can be more consistent at drying the wet floors after they MOP the wet floors in the lockers rooms, which in end makes the floors more wet and smelly.
D. They can re-​rack some dumb bells on the outside rack because not all members go to the classes that use it – keeping it in the studio, leaving the out rack empty…
Okay KROC lets be more consistent!

I am so disappointed with yhe Kroc center hawaii. I brought my daughter and family here for her 6^th birthday and was not allowed to enter because I didn’t have my drivers license. My husband drove and decided to leave my purse at home so it wouldn’t get stolen, and when I called to ask about a day pass there was NO mention of a driver’s license needed. So my daughter left in tears and we got drive and hour and a half home sad because all she wanted was to go on a water slide for her birthday. Thanks a lot manager with no compaassion. We had my husband’s Id, just not mine.

I had planned my daughters surprise 7^th birthday here. I was surprised at how packed it was I ended up getting a membership there to attend the gym and I haven’t seen it as packed as it was the day of the party. Anyways, when arrived they took us in right away and had us seated and someone was there to answer any questions I had. I had a afternoon party with extra swim time from 1:30−6pm with lunch break at 3:30 — 4:30. I wish that they would do away with morning parties and extend the swim times especially for the kids because we know these kids don’t ever want to get out of the water once they start playing. When lunch had came out I got everything I had ordered except for one mistake I had a double order of everything and one pan came out a single order when I had noticed that the workers took care of it right away. I don’t like to make a BIG deal of something that someone can fix with the workers trying their hardest to fix my order as soon as they could. They couldn’t give me my second order of Teri beef but instead replaced my order with garlic chicken and I must say that was the best mistake that they had fixed the Garlic chicken was awesome. Everyone had enjoyed the food and most of all everyone got to enjoy the pools. Someone always checked and made sure you was okay and made sure you were taken cared of. I would definitely come back.
As for the gym, I love that there’s no competition there it’s so laid back and I love going there although I’m still a newbie the machines are dummy proof and there are pictures and instructions available.
Locker rooms/​family restrooms: I couldn’t believe this place offers personal showers with hot water!!! If I can make it in between work I take advantage and shower before heading back to work. I would definitely recommend others!

Nice area to come and hang out at, especially on the weekdays when no one is around! The kids can swim while u lounge & get a sun tan. Love the acai there at the Kroc center. Lots of free parking in the parking lot!

This place is way better than the wet and wild. For one thing, there pool is extrememly nice & clean. Another, is because their jaquzzi is so relaxing, HOTT HOTT, which I love. However, I only gave them a 3 star because they are exensive when it comes to having a baby bithday party. I mean the price is unreal for only 3 hour use of the cabana than you have to move your stuffs or leave in that matter vs. the water park you can stay there all day and enjoy all the rides, no need to rush out. Yes, they have other activities you could do, but ask yourself is it realy worth it. To me its not.

This place awesome for kids to have fun. My grand son was there spring break he had so much fun that he going to return inthe summer now. Staff was fantastic so much patients

We have been members for almost 2yrs now and love it! The pool is very clean and the water park splash pad is perfect for lil swimmers! The Jacuzzi is perfect for relaxing and doing physical therapy stretches.
Looking forward to utilizing the gym more! Also they offer swim lessons, music and martial arts. Looking to try them all this year

I was looking for a gym to go to since I moved out to the West Side. When I typed in «gym» on Unilocal,this was the first place that popped up.
I have heard many reviews from friends and family about the pools and venue area but nothing about the gym. I decided to drop in and check it out.
This place is HUGE. Well, the pool area. It is like a mini water park. There is a lot of parking and the pool deck is filled with lifeguards. Looks as if they take water safety very serious. Props to them.
Why the 2 stars you ask? Well, I walk in and see a few workers at the reception desk. *CRICKETS* All eyes are looking at me but no one says «Hi» not even a wave. As I approach the desk, I ask about the gym. The woman points to the gym and says «Go take a look» She then turns to talk to her co workers and ignores the fact that I am interested in possibly signing up for the Kroc Center.
I decided to hold my tongue and not ask about a tour since she looked occupied by off topic conversation with her co worker. I took it upon myself to make my way into the gym. The reception desk is the reason I did not sign up for this gym.
The facility itself is very nice. The gym is a decent size. The customer service needs some work. Even when I walked out, they just looked at me and did not say a word.
C’mon Salvation Army, teach your staff some customer service.

I was a gym slut before I was introduced to the Kroc Center. I’ve tried 24 in Pearl City, and UFC gym in Waikele. There was always a reason for me to cancel my membership there. It simply wasn’t for me. I was apprehensive to pay for the enrollment fee and $ 60 monthly membership, but after going for several months, I can say it’s worth it. I recommend to get a day pass if you have my doubts. That’s what I did, along with stealing all my boyfriend’s complementary passes. It’s a great family gym. So much for the kids to at the pool (water slides, lazy river, diving board). Their Olympic room is awesome and has lots of space for multiple people to train. I have never had issues with waiting, but I can imagine people who use the treadmills and ellipticals having to wait when the gym is really busy (after work hours).
The only issue I can think of is something minor. They shouldn’t allow people to wear sunglasses inside the gym. It’s unnecessary and it makes me feel uncomfortable. Please, don’t think I’m trying to flatter myself, but I worry for other people too.
This issue put aside, it’s a terrific gym. I actually enjoy working out now!

A five star facility! I doubt General William Booth imagined a Salvation Army Corps such as this considering his early operations in the East side of London.
Ok…the specifics.
1. The parking — plenty!
2. Revenue generation — while I don’t know if this location is self sustaining, it appears they have multiple ways of generating $ thus allowing our donations to go further.
3. Church, gym and pool all on the same premises. While not exactly a new concept for the SA, it is still fairly rare to find this in the islands.
4. Location! Easy access off of the North South road. You. don’t have to fight the congested city traffic as you would to get to the Blaisdell or other in town venues.

Excellent venue for kid’s birthday party!!! It’s a mini-​waterpark at half the price of Wet-​n-​Wild. We came for a first birthday party, but it really should be for kids from 3 to 8, where they will enjoy and realize the maximum benefit of this place. It has a kiddie water play area, lazy river, basketball hoop water area and two large slides. The best thing about it is that «NO LINES», yes, because it was more young family oriented, it wasn’t over-​crowded, or maybe because it’s February. I had a great first impression of this center, I wish I knew about it sooner. Definitely planning to visit again with a day pass with my daughters and a few friends this summer.

The facility is very nice. We like how close it is to our house and using the pool is great if you don’t feel like dealing with sand. However, in the last two months it seems like every time we come to use the pool a child has a «fecal incident» which closes it down. They allow babies and children who are not potty trained to go in the pool with disposable swim diapers rather than waterproof/​reusable swim diapers. So the mess gets out into the pool. YUCK! And a disappointment to my children, particularly when we have just arrived only to have the air horn go off as soon as we get sunscreen on.
I also didn’t realize that classes are not included in the fee. So on top of paying a family rate for membership, if my kids want to take art classes or judo there is another fee for it. Altogether it is very expensive.
I’m considering cancelling our membership because it just isn’t worth the money.

We stayed all day from 10 to 6 and can i say best pool on Oahu thus far. When we arrived at 10am the check it process was simple. All you need is your ID. They’ll give you passes to scan yourself in. Gym on the right, lockers and pool entrance on the left.
The pool was quiet at 10am but do know that the water is pretty cold.
POOL: They have a kiddie playground surrounded by shallow pool areas with water sprinklers, a basketball pool area, mini waterfall and a separate pool area for kids that are learning to swim. They have a mini lazy river with 2 sitting pools in between; and 2 slides; one for single riders and one for 2 people on a tube.
18 and over or take a lap test:
They have a lap pool, diving board, rock climbing wall but you will have to take a swim test for under 18.
JACUZZI FOR ADULTS ONLY. Yas! and it has a waterfall in it. peace and quiet especially at 12 and 4 when the pool is closed for water testing and cleaning.
They have 2 private cabana areas for parties, which i will rent. its $ 450 – 500 for up to 40 guests. Their catering menu is different from the café menu.
However, the café menu is cheap. Everything is under $ 7.00 its more of a healthy snack bar with salads, wraps, melts, sandwiches, acai bowls, coffee, slushes, etc
No french fries available which is what we really wanted.
All in all, we will return to rent cabana for a party but because we live in town I don’t know if we will be purchasing a monthly membership.

I Love the Kroc Center. I visited for a birthday party at one of the cabanas. The cabana party was in an area between the lap pool and slides. Basically you are seated on benches in the designated area. For what my friend told me they are pretty strict about food and drink (except water bottles). You must purchase drink and food from them except for the cake. Also, I noticed while we partied in the area, it seemed that a person or two were designated to check on the party which I thought was a nice touch.
There is no denying the best thing about this place is the pool area! First of all, the pool area is Ah-​Maze-​balls! Seriously! A lazy river? A slide? A kids play area? Free life vests for use? AND a lap pool? Just those things listed makes me want to be a member! My kids had a blast playing in the kids area and I had fun on the water slide! Another great thing about the pool area is that there are a good amount of lifeguards monitoring the area. I like that safety is most definitely a priority!
During the party I walked around the facilities and did some recon. I found the gym/​exercise area, cardio area, locker rooms, child care, and a banquet area! Nice! Everything is new and maintained at this point. I am totally sold on joining– the con? I live in town and would probably not come as often as I would like. However, know that I tell all my west side friends all about the center and beg them to join so that they can invite me.

The Salvation Army Kroc center is located on Kualaka’i Parkway along Kapolei Parkway. It may be a bit difficult to find if you are not familiar with the area since the neighboring businesses are quite further away. U.H. West Oahu is down the road heading mauka, while the new mall, Ka makana Ali’i is heading makai. If you’re still confused, just follow the rail heading west, the end of the rail takes you directlyto the Kroc center!
The center is great for the leeward community as it offers a variety of things to do. With your membership, you get unlimited use of the fitness center, gymnasium, game room and pool area amongst other things. They offer church services on Sunday, there are classrooms or banquet halls you could rent out. A café is located in by the entrance when yoi get the munchies. For a fee, they have child watch for up to two hours.
If you ever have questions about the center, the dedicated front desk staff are more than willing to give you a very informative answer. If you want to purchase a day pass to check the facilities, these are the people you want to see.
The center also gives back to the community. Every year they take part in the Angel tree project. During the holidays, they open the doors to the public and have different kinds of events. Some examples include: Kroctoberfest in October to celebrate Halloween, and A touch of Christmas. They also hold Art nights and sometimes put on shows to showcase students that participate in voice lessons that thwy offer.
Not many people realize that the Kroc center is not «just a gym or pool area». When you realize how much this center has to offer, you’ll come to appreciate it for all the many things you can do there.

If you’re driving down Kualakai Parkway you’ll see three significant (soon to be four) things:
— The RAIL being built (this is the start /​or end depending on how you look at it.
— University of Hawaii West Oahu
— Soon to be Ka Makana Alii (West Oahu’s premier mega mall intersecting Kapolei Parkway
— AND The Salvation Army Kroc Center
You’ll hear people refer to this place as the Kroc Center and this place is huge for West Oahu.

The only thing I see that this place is missing is adult day care (if you’re part of the sandwich generation you’ll know exactly what I am referring to). But the PROS far outweigh the cons here. I really can’t find anything wrong with the Kroc!
We’ve been on again /​off again members of the Kroc for the past three years and the only reason we’ve been off has been because sometimes life gets in the way of working out or leisure. But the beauty of being a member of Kroc is that unlike most places where you are stuck in a membership with an annual renewal — here you pay month to month and if you choose to cancel your membership, just be sure to be within the parameters of their policy to cancel your next month’s membership or else you’ll end up paying for that month. A simple visit to the center will cancel your membership and save you tons of money if you are not using your membership. Membership is easy with a one time registration fee and a prorated month and next month deposit (unless you sign up at the first of the month). Sometimes they have registration fee «sales» but I haven’t seen this done in a long time.
This place is clean! Cleanest gym I’ve been too! I’m a self-​professed OCD, germaphobe so this is of utmost importance to me. Also, I personally know that their hiring staff seriously takes their employee candidates through a rigorous screening process to assure that their staff is up to their standards and are of good moral character and background. I’ve been called twice by the Kroc for character references for two friends who work or have worked there. That makes me feel good knowing that The Salvation Army’s human resource center carefully picks their employees.
Another win for the Kroc (for me) is that they offer seasonal programs for children, adults and families ranging from arts and crafts, hobbies, life skills and enrichment programs. They cover the gamut of topics here and the program fees are quite affordable. Many of these classes are FREE too! They put out a booklet every season (this can also be accessible online) that covers these programs as well as highlights what the Salvation Army’s collaborative mission is with the Kroc Center.
So overall, the Kroc Center isn’t just about membership to a gym, it’s more than that considering they offer so much to the community in terms of programs, facilities and resources. Kroc Center is a huge win for the sprawling suburban community of West Oahu!
We love it here it and find ourselves coming back time and time again.

Came here for the water play area.
An overall good deal. $ 56 for 2 adults and 2 kids.
They day pass gets you access to gym and showers also.
Monthly membership rates seem very reasonable as well. Most the employees seemed happy and welcoming.
Water play area has 2 water slides. One open air slide and one enclosed tube that can accommodate 2 riders (under 600lbs total) on a tandem inner tube. Minimum height for the slides is 48″ and a couple lifeguards power trip on enforcing it.
There is also a small lazy river, lap swimming, and children’s water play structure.
The pool shuts down from 12 – 12:30 and 3:30−4 for maintenance.
I was impressed by the cleanliness of the facility.
The café snack bar offers reasonably priced food and refreshments.
I would come back again. A good alternative to hotel pools.

It was worth the drive and getting lost (my car says we can go again) DO NOT follow the GPS instructions or you will get lost. Exit #3 off H-​1 West, You will be driving parallel the Rail for about 3 miles south. You will see the center on the east side under the Rail. Problem is; you can’t turn into the property immediately, you need to venture a mile or so south before you can turn. (and you can’t make a U turn, as the GPS says you can) I might take the exit before Exit 3 next time… If you’ve not been– map your route before you get behind the wheel. My humble advice. OK, on to Kroc:

a place for worship: haven’t seen the chapel or church but I saw signs posted throughout with hours of worship and list of other religious functions,
a café with coffee and tea drinks; little sandwiches and snacks
a venue: great place to have a kiddie birthday party or a graduation party or a «no reason» party…
I’m not an institution type joiner; but this place? If I lived closer to the area, I might have to make an exception and get me a membership card…

Wowzers, I’ve always wanted to know what I would buy when I had more money than I could spend in a hundred lifetimes… and now I know! I’d build a gigantic community center just like the Kroc Center! My girlfriend Tamra P has been telling me about the Kroc Center for years and we finally got around to getting a family membership.
VALUE: When you think of everything this facility offers you really can’t go wrong. A full gym, workout classes, aquatics center, kids water play area complete with lazy river and slides, basketball court, performance theater, game room, worship center and so much more. The family memberships are the best value at only $ 99 a month for a family of five.
CHILDCARE: I haven’t tried out their childcare room yet but it’s only $ 4 for two hours. That means you can get a gym workout, take a nap, swim at the pool, take a nap, get a massage, take a nap or my personal favorite: eat hot food with two hands then take a nap. All guilt free because you didn’t have to ask Grandma to babysit or cut off your arm to pay a babysitter. There’s a punch card of 20 childcare sessions for $ 70 which I’ll be buying as I have three children.
LOCATION: In between Ewa Beach and Kapolei. Yes, this place is on the other side of the Universe if you live in town. But guess what West siders? Now you’ve got something that people in town can only dream of having. Sure you have to deal with Zipnado and random brush fires, but those water slides are worth it!
LIFEGUARDS GALORE: Finally, a place where you can bring your kids that’s clean, safe and you don’t feel like someone is going to get a staph infection. Overall I was really impressed with the cleanliness of the facilities and the number of lifeguards at the pool area. The life vests are free for kids to use so you don’t have to have a heart attack worrying about your child getting sucked into the current of the lazy river. My son fell down and cut up his knee on the concrete, and literally bled his way through my entire band-​aid supply. Thankfully the lifeguards fixed him up proper and he looked like he had visited the ER with all that bandaging.
BUILT FOR FAMILIES: Yes this place is built with families in mind. Family discounted memberships, family locker rooms, family sized water fun, therefore if you’ve got a family… this is your place. I actually think I’d feel really out of place here if I didn’t have kids. I recommend that if you don’t have kids just borrow a nephew or your co-worker’s kid so you too can blend in with the rest of us. If not, you’ll just be the weirdo single person who hangs out with families, and we’ll all feel jealous and sad for you at the same time.
We’ve been here twice so far and are really happy with our experience so far. This place is going to be our new favorite hangout for the Summer!
