We tried Marsillios’s Kitchen on a Wednesday night, not too busy. Calamari was delicious to start. The house salad was mixed greens, light olive oil and grated Parmesan over top, very light and fresh . I got the veal Parmesan, my wife saltimbuca, the entrees took some time to prepare but that’s ok we enjoyed the relaxed well decorated and comfortable dining area. The food came out piping hot and obviously just made from scratch, in a word, delicious. Cappuccino after dinner was perfect. We will be back !

Bottom Line: One of the best meals I’ve ever had! Can’t wait to go back! I was staying at a local hotel and my brother came to take me out to dinner. He asked the ladies at the hotel for a recommendation and was told Marsilio’s. He called and tried to make a reservation but they were booked until 8:30. We went over and sat at the bar and they had a table ready for us after one drink. Walking in to the restaurant it feels like you are walking into someones’s home. It’s very cozy and quaint. There are 2 High Top tables in the reception area — I wouldn’t want to sit there unless I was absolutely desperate! It just seems like they squeezed these 2 tables in just to squeeze 4 more people in. You are right on top of the Hostess and the front door. When you come in and go to the left, there is a small bar and a small dining area. The bar seats approx 10 in a small«L» configuration. I enjoyed the time at the bar because we sat next to a couple who had ordered and we got to scope out and ask them questions about their meal. There is a section of the menu called«I Can’t Decide»(or something like that) I had the Francois. It had Veal, Chicken, Shrimp, and Artichokes all done in the Francois style. Every bite was outstanding. My brother had steak which he said was delicious but he kept reaching over and taking more tastes from my plate. My plate came with the obligatory side of pasta, Oh Wait — This was no standard side of pasta. I don’t know what they did to it but when we added some of the grated cheese from the table to this bowl — once again my brother and I were fighting over the dish. The pasta, sauce and cheese mixed together were just perfect mouthfuls of creaminess. We both started out with the Caesar Salad, and again, I don’t know what they do differently but we both raved about the salad. Again, creamy is the word that comes to mind. The dressing was not overpowering in taste or amount but yet it was the star of the plate. If you go to the right of the entrance it is a much larger dining area — a little less intimate. There was a small business Christmas party going on in the same room and we weren’t bothered by it at all. The service was very professional. Outstanding all the way around!

Very nice restaurant. First time there since it moved to Ewing. Service was awesome. Main meal was good. Not great. Pretty pricey for what we got.

Went back a couple times since my 5-star review, and have found their food offerings to be hit-and-miss. I had a seafood combination of some sort last time and was really underwhelmed by the portion, though the flavor was spot on. This accompanied by a salad that was really sad — and consistent with the time before — consisting of some greens, an overabundance of cheese, dressing that was virtually all oil and no other flavor such as vinegar, and perhaps one cherry tomato(actually I seem to recall getting none, but don’t remember clearly as it has been a couple weeks.) The one bright note was their always excellent calamari with hot cherry peppers, which I have had the last two times covered by this review and that was great both times. The menu here has quality to offer but is too much of a minefield to navigate for my tastes, so I think I’ll try to find someplace else to eat in the area. Pity, as I used to love eating here when they were in the Burg.

First time at the new location this past Friday. They’ve done a very nice job with remodeling the old Antonios. John was our server and he could not have been better. He remembered us from a previous restaurant he was at. All in our party raved about the food. We will be back for sure!

We are in the best part of the country for quality Italian food and Marsilio’s does not disappoint. From excellent salads and appetizers to fantastic entrees. I highly recommend the Sunday gravy it is amazing.

I had the Vodka Rigatoni and it was awesome!!! My wife had the Eggplant Rigatoni which was also amazing. Everyone in our party of four raves about what they ate. Our waitress was great as well, extremely knowledgeable about the menu and very helpful in making suggestions. Great atmosphere and ambiance. We will definitely be back!

Came here on a Wednesday night. The place was actually pretty busy for a weeknight. We ordered eggplant rollatini as an appetizer which was really good. The house salad was SO good I devoured it. As my entrée I ordered the house made gnocchi and WOW it was amazing! The gnocchi was so fresh and soft! My date ordered fettuccini Alfredo with sausage and that was excellent as well(gnocchi was better though — highly recommended). You can also Byob but they charge a corking fee which I did not know. Next time! For dessert we had tiramisu. Also good. And for an appetizer, 2 entrees, dessert, 2 glasses of wine and 2 beers our bill was about $ 100. Not bad at all! I have heard mixed reviews about this place but my experience was excellent! I will be back for sure!

Great ambiance. Delicious food in a hefty portion. I had the crispy chicken with roasted red potatoes and it was absolutely wonderful. The new liquor license is also a nice touch so I was able to enjoy a nice glass of wine with my boyfriend for his birthday. And even though they were busy for a Sunday evening, the service was still really good. Will definitely go back!

Had a wonderful dinner for two last night. The place was packed, so we were glad we had a reservation on a busy Saturday night. They took us right away. We split the antipasto salad. It was delicious, but the tuna described on the menu was missing. The bread was absolutely scrumptious & we loved it. My friend had delicious veal… two very large slices very tender. I had the pencil points & Sunday gravy. Huge portion & fabulous! My only criticism is that it seemed they just didn’t have enough staff. My waiter was constantly clearing and setting up other tables, so he wasn’t as attentive as I would have liked. Many of the tables converted to larger setups & throughout the evening they were remaking tables for 4 to tables for 8 or more. I almost felt like I was behind the scenes of a stage show watching the sets being moved around. It was distracting from a very lovely room. I’ll definitely be back… maybe not on a Saturday night, though.

I love love love Marsilio’s! We take advantage of their carry out menu a lot, they have 20 meals under $ 20 so we can get dinner for two for around $ 24. I am continually searching for the perfect vodka sauce, and Marsilio’s is the closest I have ever come! I get their Vodka Rigatoni almost every Sunday for dinner. I have also had their Gnocchi, it is excellent if a bit rich. When I am not feeling like a carb blow out, I go for the Caesar with chicken. Always fresh and delicious. At the end of the summer they are getting a full bar and liquor license. I am not sure if it will still be BYOB but I know that they will have a much larger list of available wines and cocktails, as well as a bar area inside the restaurant. Just another reason to keep coming here!

At the risk of sounding redundant, I too, am in shock of the low ratings for this restaurant. My boyfriend and I dined here last night not fully knowing what to expect but hoping that the good reputation Marsilio’s enjoyed in Chambersburg would carry the day. We were not disappointed. The ambiance is intimate and cozy, the kind in which patrons tend to linger. And linger we did. The owner was gracious enough to stop by our table near the end of our meal, and engaged us in warm conversation. He shared during our conversation that the restaurant has just received it’s liquor license, but will retain the BYO option for its customers with a small corkage fee. Sounds perfect for those who wish to bring their own, and others who may feel like a martini or some other cocktail with dinner. All of the food was perfectly prepared and nicely portioned, from the mussels appetizer, the salad that came w/our entrees, and our main dishes(I had the Can’t Decide Seafood consisting of shrimp francais, crab cake and salmon; he had the Can’t Decide Francais consisting of chicken, shrimp and veal francais). The made in house hazelnut cheesecake was delicious, and our server was non-invasive yet very attentive. With appetizer, entrees, dessert and coffee, dinner was still under $ 100. Job well done, Marsilio’s. You’re just earned two new fans.

I am so sad this place has such poor reviews! Although I have only been here two times, I have always been very happy and impressed with the quality and quantity of the food. PROS: –BYOB: You can purchase wine from one local winery at the front desk(limited selection), but you can also bring anything you like to drink –Price: Dinner for two, including appetizer and dessert has always been under $ 100 –Ambiance: Great for a quiet, romantic night for couples, or even a small intimate group –Food: Portions are always enough for left overs. One appetizer serves two people, and entrees come with a salad with a delicious house dressing. CONS: –Service: Very laid back. At busy seems they seem some-what under staffed, but if you go in knowing this, you will be able to sit and enjoy your food, wine and company rather than being rushed –Menu is a little limited, but has everything you need for an Italian place. OTHER: –Seasonal Chocolate Hazelnut Cheesecake is to die for. –Giftcards available. –Reading the other reviews, I have never had a problem with the attitude or inexperience of the servers; they have always been extremely friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable in both the menu and the specials. –This is not ‘fine dining’, but considering the price range of this restaurant, I think is perfect for a night out different than your local chain.

This place gets a three stars from the previous times I have went. The first and second time that food was wonderful, however the service could be better. However the 3rd times was a complete disaster!!! The first two visits I order the chicken parm and Caesar salad… everything was great!!! On of the best chicken parms I have ever tasted!.. The servers were inexperienced on customer service and the menu, but the food made up for the service. The third visit was a complete disaster! I ordered the Caesar salad and there was no Caesar dressing, but a light vinaigrette. The vinaigrette had olives in the mixture, so the dressing was leaving brown and black etchings in the salad. I understand that mistakes happen, so I requested a new salad. The waiter was rude and tried to explain to me that the croutons were causing the marks on the lettuce. I was like okay, I heard enough! Just bring me a new salad. The new salad came back with no croutons and the lettuce l appeared the same. Well to my surprise, the cook used the same lettuce and threw tons of Cesar dressing on the salad. The Caesar dressing tasted old and it could have been because of the mixing of dressings. I was so mad, I left the salad as is and placed it to the side. Needless to say, I did not have to request this dish to be taken off the menu, the waiter was smarter than he lead on…

Wow, I’m“m so surprised this place has such bad reviews on Unilocal, because the night I was there the place was PACKED! We forgot to make reservations and waited about an hour for a table(sipping wine or else I wouldn’t have made it). Food was awesome too! I was always really interested in coming into this place having eaten across the street a few times and this place ALWAYS looks closed. Well, came here for dinner with 3 other ppl and we had an amazing night. Let me start off by saying this place is BYOB, bc that alone gives it 2 stars in my book. Thankfully they have cute little cocktail tables that you can wait and have wine if you were a jerk and didn’t have reservations like us. The ambiance in general inside is surprisingly chic with a large floor to cieling framed mirror in their larger room and these interesting little jars in the next. When we did start our meal, we ordered a million appetizers BC we were starving. We had clams casino, mussels in wine sauce and mushrooms stuffed with bacon and scallops. Let me just skip over the mushrooms BC if you are any type of foodie, you know that anything that includes both bacon and scallops is a sure fire hit; sadly only 3 for a whopping $ 8. The clams casino were good but not great, small in clam size and a small portion with only 6 in a plate, but sauce was delicious. I did love the mussels and they were a large heaping pile, way more than enough for 4 Pol. ENTREES! I ordered this amazing chicken that was smothered in cheese, artichoke and prosciutto. It came with 3 large pieces that I savored for meals after. Another person ordered the«I can’t decided seafood platter» which included a little bit of everything from a crab cake, to salmon and it looked amazing. The other person ordered the crunchy salmon which was cooked to perfection, made you want to reach over and just grab a corner with your fork. All in all we were all extremely satisfied. For desert we had the sampler plate with crème brûlée, tiramisu and a cannoli. It was supposed to be for a few ppl to share, but it was extremely tiny(and cute). So 2 ppl shared and I stuck to my wine! Needless to say, I will definitely be returning, I am deducting a star bc their service could’ve been a lot better. The server was in a rush and treated us like we were at a diner, we were missing utensils and we couldn’t find her for a good while. Anyways, according to their website they have fun nights like crazy chicken night… which I don’t exactly know what that means… but all I know is that I want to be there.
