Haven Maven

Haven Maven just opened in a «small» retail space and I went there opening day. Guess I’m not sure what I was expecting but have to say I was a little disappointed.
I like the concept the owner created. It’s basically a garage sale open during set retail hours. The place is a little difficult to find. The website explains that too. You won’t see any signs for HM on the main street side but there is a small sign for it on the side street if you are headed for the parking lot in back of the building. Seemed a little awkward (but it works) as you have to walk through Serafina to get to HM on the second floor.
When you walk in there’s a «small» room filled with all kinds of «garage sale» items to look over. I was expecting «more» to choose from. Items are all marked with torn off masking tape. Yes… just like a garage sale. Most items seemed very inexpensive. Buyers beware though as all purchases are CASH ONLY and hours are limited (Thurs– Sat.)
The owner does say she gets in new items weekly. Maybe if I happen to be nearby I might stop in again but I’m not sure I’d make a special trip to Excelsior just to go to HM. I’ll give this place 3 stars for «effort» and «creativity» but let’s see more merchandise.
