This place was AMAZING! There’s so much care and attention to detail. The waitstaff took great care of us, and the food was divine. I’d go for the seafood 2nd time around. My mom ordered the fish and chips(gluten free). I would never normally order fish and chips– I assume it would be greasy– not at all. It was divine. Order it gluten free to mimic the experience.

Delicious, homemade, farm fresh ingredients. The food is incredible, the service is great, the prices aren’t bad considering how delicious everything is. My husband and I go to the farm dinners every month. What a treat! We always leave there stuffed. Their Sunday brunch is really good also. Great variety on all their menus. Reservations are recommended on the weekend.

My wife and I made a brewery trip down to the area from MA. After making a visit to Proclamation Ale. We stopped in and were blown away by the food and craft beer selection(such as Grey Sail Captains Daughter in draft). The service was outstanding as well. We are planning another visit to the area in the foreseeable future!

Visited at 7:15 pm this past Saturday evening. It was our first time, and had heard great things! I think we may have picked an «off» night. Our server seemed very distracted and stressed, and it took forever for her to even say hello. We waited and waited and waited for our food. Over an hour and 15 minutes. Once food arrived it was ok. Nothing too exciting. Burger for myself and fish and chips for the hubs. Average at best. I don’t see us venturing back anytime soon.

Pleasantly surprised! We got a babysitter for dinner and decided to stay local(we usually go to Providence). I’m so glad we did! The place is really nice inside, very comfortable. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Love the beer list, we both got different Revival beers, a local brewer. Most of the food is local as well, some of the vegetables and fruits are from Schartner’s Farm up the road, and the batter on the fish and eggplant is from Kenyon Gristmill, which is in my neighborhood! We started with pork nachos, very good! I got eggplant parm, it was delicious. The tomato sauce is a bit spicy, no complaints here though, I love spicy. The eggplant was battered just right, and topped with Narragansett creamery mozzarella. It was perfect! My partner got chicken carbonara. We shared our meals so I had a taste, it was amazing. The cream sauce was slightly sweet, there were thick slices of bacon and snap peas. Really good. We had no room for dessert and brought home leftovers, great food and great portions for the value. We can’t wait to go back and try something new. Absolutely a hidden gem in Exeter.

One of the best dinners we’ve ever had. We started out with a pitcher of white sangria, which was $ 30, but ended up giving us over four glasses of sangria each! We had the Brussels bites appetizer with the creole aioli, and that was totally delicious. My fiancé got the flank steak special — which has a ginger teriyaki marinade, and I had the delicious eggplant towers, a vegetarian entrée with eggplant, cheese ravioli, and a delicious red and green pesto cream sauce. The standout of the evening was the dessert — we split the chocolate banana foster bread pudding with the restaurant’s homemade gelato. Fabulous! Our server’s name was Matt and he was a joy. Very knowledgable and easy going, but very professional. We were at the table, trying to watch in the kitchen, and another server even came over and said he noticed us looking around and could he get us anything? As he poured more water for us. Great service. We will definitely be going back and I even asked if they catered as I would consider them for our wedding! A++++

Very nice setting. Roomy, clean, and well laid out. I got the Santa Fe Salad with blackened chicken. It was very good, but a bit small for the price. My BF got a bacon and egg breakfast sandwich and it was very flavorful without being too greasy. The home fries were just ok, they tasted a bit old, not too crispy, not too fresh. His mom got a chicken sandwich and she was very happy with it. Large selection of beers,

If I could give this place 10 stars, I would. One of my all time favorites and I’m so glad I’ve moved next to this hidden gem. One of the best places to eat in south county. Fresh & excellent quality food. Lots of local ingredients used. I’ve never had a bad meal there and I’ve been for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Lots of craft beers. Yummy sangria. And chef Brandon is fantastic. Since the first time we went there to eat, he always visits the tables to see how your experience was. Lots of respect for that man!

I’m sorta new to this corner of South County and without really realizing it, Celestial Café has become my «local watering hole» and I’m pretty darn happy about it. To start, I’ve never actually grabbed a table here and had a end to end meal(although my wife has and she was a fan). I normally grab a stool at the bar, grab some apps and enjoy the good vibes of this place. 5 stars, you may ask? Here’s why: –One of the better draft beer selections around and at good prices. Note that I’m in the bar/restaurant no-man’s land, right on the NK/Exeter/Slocum border. Stuff from Foolproof, Grey Sail, Mayflower, Revival, etc. and if you read my other reviews, you know local RI beers makes this guy happy. –The bar never gets jammed up so there is always ample room to hang out and shoot the breeze with my wife. –The bartenders I’ve had normally go above and beyond and are some cool cats to chat with –The apps are just kick ass across the board; lots of local stuff, lots of different tastes and unique combos. I personally have tried the grilled oysters, the basket of chips(with potato’s from nearby Schartner’s), the crispy Brussell Bites and the oriental calamari. I think they have a very solid cocktail and drink list; that’s something the wife has ventured into and I have not yet. I’m also due to try one of those farm dinners(full 3 course dinner with a local brew or glass of wine for $ 40 — I shit you not).

This gem is located in a strip mall next to a vacant store and a gas station so our expectations weren’t high but, once you enter you are transported to a different rehlm. The dining experience is very personal: great service and attention to detail. The food is incredible. The calamari was tasty and not oily. Wonderful ceasar salad, the Rhody sweet potato dumplings were unbelievably good. We were there for lunch so we did not try the wine list but, they have a variety of very good domestic and craft beers. Dinner was booked solid so we will have to wait til our next trip for that. Not to be missed! Oh and the chef came around and asked how our dining experience was. This doesn’t happen in many restaurants these days. There is a reason they are celebrating 16 years preparing and serving inventive and tasty dishes.

I want to give more stars to this restaurant. It has so much potential! A group of 10 went for lunch on Sunday, and we had the option of breakfast or lunch menus. This was great for our group. In looking at the menu, they source a lot of their food locally. The real standouts were the calamari, the berry french toast, the berry mojito, the penne pasta with Alfredo sauce, and the«hot chips.» The citrus calamari is some of the best I’ve had in a long time. Light and crispy with the unexpected, but delicious, addition of artichokes and roasted red peppers. The hot chips are freshly fried potato chips that come in their own basket. I would not recommend the cranberry pear salad. Best described as waterlogged and tasteless. I would also warn against the bananas foster chocolate bread pudding. They are individually made and mine was overcooked. Also, the ice cream seems to be homemade and was way too hard(this was true for all of the ice cream at the table). All in all, I would have rated four stars for the food and the service, but I had to deduct a star for the flies. Seriously! There were three or four flies around our table(not outside and no open doors or windows) that would not leave us alone. No one was doing anything about them either, so I get the feeling this is common or they don’t care. Either makes me hesitant to recommend this restaurant to others.

I was in the middle of nowhere Exeter when my cousin and I came upon this place. It’s definitely a godsend for picky eaters like me if you’re down there. They use a bunch of local ingredients from the local farms in the surrounding area and state. We started with the Baked Brie w/Berries served with in house tortilla chips and the Pesto Calamari. Both tasted delicious BUT: Brie could have been baked longer, more fruit, and tortilla chips weren’t fried long enough. The Pesto Calamari was a little too sweet and soggy for my liking but my cousin enjoyed it. I ordered a Southwest Salad for my entrée w/blackened Shrimp(very good suggestion by the waitress) which wasn’t on the menu. My biggest complaint here would be the avocado. PLEASE, don’t use unripe avocado, it can make or break a meal. I will be back at a more convenient time for them to earn that fifth star ;)

A hidden gem! Don’t let the exterior deceive you, this restaurant is excellent! We came for a late lunch. I ordered the New Orleans Stacked Burger(pictured) and my wife got a Chicken Parmesan sandwich. I was very impressed with my burger, and while I initially thought the $ 14 price seemed a little steep in relation to other items on the menu, it was delicious and I would order it again without hesitation. Most of the sandwiches were priced between $ 9-$ 10. $ 14 was standard for their two specialty burgers. Craft beers on draft were $ 6.25. Considering its in Exeter, it’s likely a little out of your way, but it’s worth the trip! I am eager to return to check out their dinner menu as well as their«farm dinner.»

Celestial Café is one of the best restaurants in South County. It is remarkable not only for its food, but for speed and flexibility of the cooking staff in preparing it. Many restaurants have large menus composed of dishes that sound delicious, but have one item you can’t stand. The chefs at Celestial take such changes in stride. The waitstaff will often suggest alternatives as substitutes. So you don’t just remove items from a dish, the chefs will substitute items and the waitstaff will recommend changes to you upon request.
The food is swiftly prepared even when the place is hopping. I have had a complex breakfast prepared just for me in a small area just off the bar while an entire baby shower group was filling the main dining hall having lunch. No unreasonable delays, no excuses, just simple timely service. Celestial does a Saturday brunch with a wonderful selection backed by local organic produce. My personal favorite is working my way down the list of amazing French Toast recipes. You can find everything from coconut rum to a homemade strawberry/blueberry compote that was so delicious I wanted to lick the plate. I have trouble prying my friends away from shrimp seafood omelettes. Celestial is handicap accessible, the waitstaff is courteous, friendly, and very professional. Brandon, one of the owners and the head chef often visits the patrons to check on their dining experience. Celestial also has a large well-stocked bar, and the Saturday night dinner crowd will find a happy place with a pleasant atmosphere. And if you get the chance, try the chips — homemade and warm with their special sauce. They are served any time of day. I don’t believe in giving a five star review for a place I’ve only eaten in once. Celestial earns it every time I go there — and I go a lot.
