I was looking up the number of the office to get some past information about vaccines and was shocked to see such a low Unilocal rating. Dr Coldren delivered both my son and daughter. I had great experiences both times. You don’t wait too long in the waiting room — which is uncommon. I felt they were very professional and up to date. I could go into detail about how but don’t want to write a book. I had my first daughter in Michigan with an office of all men. When I moved to pa and was going to all women I was afraid it would be more midwife than dr but I was pleasantly surprised. I’d recommend these ladies to anyone having a baby. I had a much better experience in this office over the one with all men.

I have used a practice like this before where you see four different female doctors so you get to know them all and then have a doctor you’re familiar with no matter who is on call when you deliver. It worked for me before, but not at Great Valley OBGYN. These doctors don’t seem to read the charts so you’re constantly re-explaining your situation and birth plan. They also don’t agree with each other so you’re faced with four vastly different opinions about any scenario you bring up. They contradict each other and promise different things for your birth. This is not just confusing, but it becomes unsettling. My favorite in this practice was Dr. Wilson and I would return to her if she had a private practice.

For my first pregnancy with twins it was important for me to try and have a natural drug free delivery. There are 4 doctors in this practice, so every time you have an appointment you have a new doctor so that way you get to meet all of them since you never know who’ll be on call to deliver your babies. My first apt. was with Dr. Wilson and she assured me that I would not be required to take an epidural to attempt a normal delivery with twins. She was ok as a doctor, she couldn’t answer some of the questions I had, so I did not feel too confident in her ability. She also told me that I can only attempt to deliver naturally only if both babies are head down. My second apt. was with Dr. Wheeler and I liked her. She seemed to support my desire to have a natural birth and seemed knowledgeable. She told me that I could try and deliver naturally if baby A was head down and B was a breach, would still be okay. I was concerned at that point that doctors have different opinions on this and Dr. Wheeler even said herself and they seem to have a difference in opinion in their practice so the outcome will depend on comfort level and ability of whoever will be on call to deliver. My 3rd apt. was with Dr. Mentzer and because of her I decided to leave this practice. She was appalled by an idea that I would even consider drug fee delivery with twins and told me that she would not deliver without an epidural. I was shocked and so upset. Why did they waste so much of my time leading me think otherwise all along? Dr. Mentzer was not sympathetic at all and seemed very incompetent. She even told me that she would not try to deliver a breach singleton baby that it would be an automatic c-section. I would not recommend this practice(in particular Dr. Mentzer) to anyone. Stay away, especially if you’re pregnant with twins and considering natural delivery.
