I have fond memories of my time here. Coach Zhang seemed intimidating to people because of her aloof mannerisms, and Coach Pei was a very friendly father figure, but both were extremely serious about teaching every student well. I really enjoyed advancing through their wushu course, and the coaches’ daughters, Diana and Joanna, were inspirational to watch. Crazy to think that they trained with Jet Li! Class demographics were pretty diverse, ages ranging from teenager to adult, and a pretty wide variety of ethnic backgrounds. I actually started attending here before they did a demo at my high school, and I don’t regret it. Floor space is limited but there were open practice slots where everyone could share the space. I gained a lot of discipline and tone, and a friend of mine who took the tai chi classes felt like he benefited as well. They sold their own uniform, shoes, and equipment from a side room in the lobby. Clean bathroom, well-needed water fountains. This is something I’m definitely thinking about picking back up if I can swing the fee and time slots on top of my climbing gym membership.
