I have been living in the area for a few years now and had driven past Mezza note on many occasions. I’d heard good things about it but never enough to venture in. On a random Friday night my wife had gotten home late and after discussing and disagreeing on several dinner options for what seemed like days, she suggested giving Mezza note a try. Our go to Italian spot had recently closed and I had been craving some pasta so I agreed, but not feeling in the mood to change out of sweatpants, I suggested ordering it to go. When I got there I was pleasantly surprised to find the parking lot and dining room both pretty busy. I was greeted by a friendly host who correctly assumed that I was there to pick up food based on my attire I presume. My food was brought out and I was on my way. After getting home and opening the bag I was once again pleasantly surprised to find that my entrée came with house salad and a side of pasta, Plus the restaurant threw in a half of a loaf of warm crusty Italian bread. While the tomato sauce was not my favorite ever it definitely hit the spot and the chicken Genovese was very good as well. I’m still looking for my new go-to Italian spot but the food and service at mezza notte ensured that I will be coming back for seconds.

We’ve been here three times now, and it’s always been a pleasant experience. Warning: it gets very loud on a Saturday night, as the place is not very big. Good service. very good food. The fried zucchini, calamari, and cheese sticks are very tasty. The meatballs are great. the spaghetti could’ve been cooked al dente. Overall though, a very good Italian meal. Btw… their desserts are excellent! Try the cannoli and chocolate mousse cake! The cappuccino is hot and delish. The prices. beyond reasonable! A go-to place! We’ll be back.

This place continues to satisfy my byob, Italian restaurant needs. Food is above par during every trip. Last night I got the veal shank osso buco and oh boy, was it tasty. Fell off the bone, the risotto was prepared perfectly to coincide with the meat. Top 3 plates I’ve had at this place. My gf loves the mussels fra diavlo and she had a delicious almond crusted salmon, another great taste. The service is always great. Strong recommendation on this local gem!

Looking for a good Italian meal to carb up before the NYC Marathon. The meal was outstanding… some of the best Italian Ive had. Service was great as well. Would have enjoyed a glass of wine with it but I didn’t realize it was BYOB.

Was taken here yesterday for my «best of luck» lunch before my wedding. As previously stated in other reviews, I want to like this place. I really do, and it’s mainly because the staff is so attentive and kind, but the food… Wow… I’m still in and out of the bathroom every half hour because of it. Anytime you still have to eat bread and butter after your main course, something’s not right.

I’ve got a tip for you. I have been going here for years. But every once in awhile I’ve noticed something that might help you out. Durning the week sometimes I noticed the food quality is not as good as it is on the weekends. Must be the crew in the kitchen. But remember to make a reservation especially on Friday and Sat. Nights. I love the mussels Marinara, clams oreganatta, stuffed artichoke, fried calamari. Seafood pasta, anything Francaise and many more selection. Check it out on a weekend night of course. You won’t be disappointed. BYOB. Bottle King about 2 miles down the street.

The food here is excellent. Our waiter suggested my order of steak done medium as opposed to the medium well I usually get and I have to say it was an amazing recommendation. They were quick, attentive, and genuinely nice. My wife and I love places like this and this place is the reason why. The only thing I would change is to add cheesecake to the dessert menu.

Went there for the 1st time a week ago. Had reservations for a party of 18. We were greeted and seated promptly. Almost everyone in our party ordered an appetizer. Mezzanotte did a great job of bringing them all out at the same time. Dinners were all brought out at the same time too, and everything was hot. I had the chicken francese, which came with a dinner salad and a side of pasta. The serving size was generous, and it was cooked perfectly. Several people had the stuffed flounder special, and they were very happy with it. I am a big bread fan, and the bread here was delicious! Hot, fresh, and crusty — it was SO good. It would be nice if they had better desserts. All that was offered was ice cream, tartufo, and a chocolate mousse cake. They should look into getting some good quality homemade desserts — would be a nice ending to a good meal. Our wait staff was friendly and attentive. I will definitely go back.

I loved it! Great Italian food and a very friendly staff. I was hesitant because it looks a tiny bit outdated, but I’m glad I gave it a shot. My brother and I went there on a Monday night kind of late, and they didn’t rush us or make us feel like we were holding them up from closing. I’ve ate at 100000 Italian restaurants and grew up on Italian food, so it’s not often a place really stands out, but this one did for me. I had an awesome prosciutto and mozzarella stuffed pork chop from their list of special(which was also huge by the way) and my brother said his manicotti was on point also. Apps were great too. I’d definitely recommend.

This restaurant has gone from trendy to geriatric fare. Don’t get me wrong, I could be considered«old.» And, when I go out to eat I still want my food to look appetizing and be tasteful. The pears in my pear and Gorgonzola salad were hard and tasteless. My stuffed mushroom caps were swimming in a green sauce that was supposed to be pesto. Totally tasteless sauce(where was the basil taste?) and stuffing(what was it, anyway?). The peppers in my husband’s «roasted» red pepper and anchovies appetizer weren’t. The calamari in his seafood pasta dish were super rubbery. No dessert. Couldn’t wait to leave. Very disappointing. Positive note: service was friendly and efficient; ravioli still very good.

A new spot for a set lunch special– no complaints. Service was excellent — table clothes nice touch and the food was pretty good– loved the bread crusty outside steamy fluffy inside! Easy on the budget and sometimes you want something other than pizza– and the fixed lunch menu has lots of options– try it out…

Went there for the first time Saturday night and was quite surprised. Started with the Beef Carpaccio and couldn’t get enough Followed by the shrimp and pasta special was spectacular. Did not have room for desert. I definitely plan on going there again and would suggest everyone do the same!

The service was very friendly and the atmosphere was authentic but… the food was terrible! For appetizers we had fried calamari and stuffed artichoke, both were completely flavorless. My mother had pasta primavera, it was basically pasta in pasta water. My father had rubber chicken, I mean ‘country chicken’ with unfrozen vegetables. I had very average chicken parmigiana. If this meal came out to $ 20 for three people I wouldn’t be upset but it was over $ 100. There is nothing worse than leaving a restaurant unsatisfied and paying a ton for it.

Had dinner out with the girls. The service was great the food was even better. Nice size plates and really delicious food. The inside is a but dated and a little run down, but the food and service help you look past that. It is a bring your own as well. The prices were reasonable as well.

The food here is really authentic Italian flavors. Definitely order from the specials, they do a great job. If you go on a Saturday night, make sure you call WAY ahead to make a reservation! We came twice, once on a Saturday and got turned away(we were sad but it was worth it when we finally came back) went back on a Thursday and had a wonderful, quiet dinner for two. We were very pleased with everything we ordered. The spinach egg drop soup was out of this world!

service perfect, stuffed artichoke/clams oregenato outstanding. Main course and the specials were so well prepared and fresh. There are a lot of very good Italian places, and this one is one of the very best I have had eatin at… even the desserts; Tartufo was super fresh. Yes BYOB, and I had the best seat in the house, the Corner one where you can watch everyone who enters… IT is an Italian thing…

What a great way to end a busy weekend. Friends suggested we meet at Mezzanotte and I’m glad we discovered this local spot. I didn’t read the menu — the specials announced tonight were compelling enough and I decided on the Gnocchi in red sauce with chicken, Italian sausage and vegetables. It sort of looked like a giambotta — more stew than pasta dish — and it was delicious! Everything, for that matter, was well done in this quaint BYOB restaurant. Stuffed artichoke was very good and the calamari included tentacles(yay — most places just provide the rings). Finished off with a nice capuccino and the Napoleon was probably the best I’ve ever had. No heavy, thick sugary icing on top — all fresh custard and crunchy thin layers topped with homemade whip cream. Excellent! New local spot for us! I strongly recommend you give it a try!

Went back on a Monday night with a large group of 12 and dinner took just under 3 hours. Salads didn’t come out for an hour and a half. Some never came out. No apologies but he let us know that he didn’t have much help in the kitchen even though we made the reservation a week prior. Food was just ok. The bill was more than I thought it would be and we had to have it adjusted for the 1 appetizer and coffee that never showed up.

I would highly recommend this restaurant for hosting your next special event. Last weekend we hosted my daughter’s baptism here and everyone was raving about the food, the service, and everything in between. The staff was able to accommodate my group of 65 people and the whole dinner went off without a hitch. Best of all, the price was extremely reasonable. The restaurant is BYOB and they even let me drop all the beer, wine, and cake off the night before so that they could make sure everything was cold for the party. The owner Mike is also one of the nicest and most accommodating guys around. I can’t say enough about how easy they made our large event. Finding this place was a blessing and I’m sure I’ll be back again for future parties.
