I absolutely LOVE the new owner, Honey! She has already made some great changes and improvements to the salon! She also happens to do my hair and every single time I want to change my hair color or cut, even if it is a slight change, she completes it perfectly. She has amazing intuition on how to read an individual’s style, almost like a sixth sense. I have a vision in my head of what it should look like and the end product is just as I had pictured. Like she is reading my mind!
I recently got married, 5÷30÷15 and her and another stylist at the salon worked on my hair and makeup along with all of my bridesmaids, junior bridesmaids, flower girls and my mother! She and the other stylist who amazing as well, also did makeup. Honey did a couple trials both hair and makeup to ensure she had the perfect look! I received so many complements including the photographers who asked who did hair and make up. Honey has truly mastered her craft and I would recommend her to anybody, men, women and children to get their hair done at Siena Salon, but also to see Honey!

I went in last week for a trim and layers. My hair was the longest it had been in a long time and I just wanted to add style to it. My mom recommended him because she had gone to him when I was little and she remembered loving it. However Michael Joe is extremely outdated and full of himself. Instead of a trim he cut off six inches on the bottom layer and over a foot on the top layer. NOT A TRIM. He styled my hair in such a terrible way, I looked like I was in a terrible 80s film and I was worried I had a mullet. I was holding in tears the whole time and told him it was too short and he didn’t care. I reluctantly paid the $ 60 «for a long haircut» even though I said the word TRIM. And left and cried in the store next door before a woman who worked there told me to go back and ask for my money back. He had left the store because I was the only appointment he had for the day, so I called him. After convincing him that he robbed me of so much of my hair and sense of self he agreed to give me my money back. However I still don’t have it back and I don’t have my hair either. He has stopped answering my calls. He is a self-​important coward that relies on the success of his younger days. But now he is just an old man with a limp and 1 chair in a mediocre salon.

I needed a new hair person as my last person retired so I went through Unilocal until I found Siena and gave them a call. Set an appointment with Abby and went in. The shop was busy, clean and seemed ok. She washed my hair and gave me a great cut for a reasonable price. If you need someone who will care about your hair and listen to what you want call Abby.

Amy Kruskamp is the one to go to, she is amazing at what she does! I can’t say it enough! I have gone to her 3 times already and I will definitely be back! She always does exactly what I want and is always so pleasant to talk to. She is simply terrific! I highly recommend her!

Amy Kruskamp is the woman to go to. She knows what she’s doing. I’ve been going to her for some time and I’m never disappointed wth my cut or color. She’s funny and pleasant to deal with. Worth every penny, even for a cheap lady like me.

I’d be happy to give the salon itself a wonderful review. It was clean, inviting, and charming. My experience with Michael Joe, however was awful. As soon as I walked in the door, he greeted me with a question of how to spell my name. To my surprise, he was autographing a two year old issue of Russian Time, which featured an article about him. He told me thst he was a world famous hairstylist and thst I was certainly in good hands. He asked me if I wanted to keep the length. I said yes, and he immediately started cutting. Two minutes into the cut, he informed me that he charges $ 65 for a cut (yikes!). He spent less than 5 minuted cutting my hair. At one point he began motion like he was about to cut large bangs across my forehead, and I asked him not too. He whisked me away to wash my hair. He made me wait while he washed the color out of another client’s hair. He washed mine, then brought me back to the chair. He lathered up my hair with a gallon of spray gel, the put me under the hair dryer for 10 minutes. He went back to his other client while my hair dryed. My hair was about half dry when he came to collect me. I went home with a giant bush of 80’s hair. I had no idea what the cut even looked like. After coming home, and straightening my hair as I normally do, I was disappointed to find yhe worst cut I’ve ever had. It was so bad, I went to another salon and had the whole thing redone. I absolutely don’t appreciate Michael Joe’s lack of interest in my hair. I will absolutely never be back to see him. I don’t suggest you risk your head with him either.

First time here and got my first hair cut. Found this place by accident on Unilocal-​open on Sunday’s. Called in last minute and the saloon called in one of there stylist to come in and do a haircut. Abby was my stylist-​she did a wonderful job-​nice fade-​hard line part and shampoo. Great communication-​felt at ease and great finish product. Just found a new stylist-​great place-​great price and great quality hair cut.

Very nice and quaint Salon. My wife and I were up here visiting a friend, and they went and got their hurr did. The staff was very friendly and polite. My wife had her hair cut and styled by Abby, who did an amazing job. My wife looked amazing afterwards (she did before too haha). If I didn’t live so far I’d probably get my hair cut here aswell. Abby was a delight and made the time there really pleasant. Definitely recommend this Salon and Abby yo anyone in the area!

My hair looks sun kissed, just Iike I want, thanks to the cuts and highlights Abby Robbins gives me! I’ve found my stylist for life! And Abby is super friendly and fun!

My hairdresser of 22 years is now currently located here. I have lived in Elk Grove for the past 25 years and followed Michael Joe since he was first located on Fulton Avenue. He’s been at several locations all out in the north area but I have religiously gone back to him.
He has cut, colored and permed my hair all of these years. Siena Salon is great as it has two restrooms if it is needed. Also it has convenient parking right out front with much to chose from. I have been to the back of the Salon too. It had been recently broken into through the back way. I guess people are relentless.
There are other hairdressers there as well like Pam and others who I really don’t know their names but have seen on occasion. They currently have a gal who is doing nails too.
If you need your hair or nails done and you live close by, check it out! You may be pleasantly surprised especially if you want Michael to do your hair. He has done many wedding party people too. He’s the best in the business!

Just recently moved to Folsom & had no idea where to get my hair done, so I relied on a lil help from Unilocal.Based off of the reviews I decided to try Siena Salon. I called & they scheduled me with Honey, and I’m so beyond happy! I hadn’t had my hair colored in about three or four months so my roots were dreadful… and I wanted to stick with blonde. Honey made some suggestions and I couldn’t be happier. I scheduled my next appt w her. Definitely would recommend her services to those in the area looking for a hair stylist!

I am in love with my new hair. Both the cut and the color are AWESOME. I get compliments on my hair everyday even from strangers and I got hit on lol hasn’t happened in a long time and his first line was «I like your hair». My hair is purple and violet and omg it looks better then expected. I’ve been taking my now 11 yr old daughter to Honey for 3+ years for her A line cut then while growing out, then back to A line with one side longer. Now she’s settling on a longer cut. Through it all Honey has ALWAYS cut her hair EXACTLY how my daughter (& I) wanted. Oh and I also sent my mom to Honey, she has been looking for a GOOD stylist and now she has appt for the next few months. .We all are picky about our hair, but are happy now. Really!!! Amy Kruskamp is the best! I seen my friend’s hair and I absolutely loved it, I asked for her stylist’s number, I scheduled an appointment to get my hair done and it was what I was looking for. She makes you feel comfortable and she is easy to converse with.
She makes the time go by quickly with her fun personality! The color I got turned out well and the salon couldn’t be cuter! It is in a hidden location by Steve’s pizza! So plenty of parking spaces up front. I can’t wait to add more color next month! Amy you are the best :)

Honey Velazquez has done my color and cut for years and she is a MASTER colorist. I get compliments all the time and asked «who does your hair?» If you are looking for a great cut or great color, call her! You’ll be glad you did.

After returning from working in Alaska on a travel assignment, I felt like a cave woman. After reading some positive Unilocal reviews, I made an appt w/​Amy. She was patient, empathetic and asked questions to fully understand what I wanted. (I admit I can be «difficult.»)
I got the best haircut, blowout and natural-​looking highlights ever! I felt amazing when I walked out and left with some great ISO hair products as well. I will be back and highly recommend Amy if you want to look fabulous and meet a kool human being!

If It’s not the best idea for your hair type and face shape! She also waxs my eyebrows for me! I work cosmetics for a living and now sell ALOT of brow product since honey has started doing them! Plus my brows have the arch now I was always looking for! Go see honey she’s amazing!

This review has been a long time coming. I got my hair cut and colored by Amy Kruskamp a couple times, and both times it was flawless. This happened to be the first time I’ve ever brought a picture with me of what I wanted to do with my hair, she seriously did such a great job that I felt a little dumb for bringing it and the second time I went in I needed no such thing. Amy is such a fun and sassy lady that my hair appointments always felt we should be drinking margaritas and playing mancala. I don’t see Amy anymore on account of living in midtown and relying solely public transportation for all my transportation needs. Otherwise Amy would be my go to girl and if you’re reading this in search of a hairstylist, she should be your go to girl.

Mykelle is an excellent hair stylist. I’ve been coming here for about a year and I’ve been very happy. I highly recommend her. Fun conversations too :).

I called what I thought was the salon, instead I reached Mykelle’s cell phone since her phone number was listed on Unilocal and Google. She was helpful over the phone so I made an appointment to get a haircut and also discuss a consultation– hairstyles and up dos for my wedding day. When I arrived, she asked a couple questions about my hair and what type of look I wanted to achieve. I have sleek straight Asian hair (they specialize in Asian hair, lol) and just wanted a trim with more layers.
I get my hair cut while dry all the time but I assumed the haircut included a wash. She told me it’s better to cut my type of hair while dry which wasn’t a big deal, it was the way she said it and also told me her friend was coming and I felt like she didn’t want to shampoo my hair since she was short on time. She did thin out my hair but a bit too much. It was choppy all over and I was a bit worried since my wedding was a couple weeks away. I was there for about a half hour and although her rates were reasonable, I felt rushed out of the salon and she lost out on a potential returning customer since we weren’t able to discuss any hairstyles for my wedding.
I am thinking about going back to this salon since it’s close to home and provide a more positive review, however I will schedule an appointment with someone else.
