A+ Detailing and Alloy Wheel Repair

I’m not the type to write reviews but after my experience today felt I needed to speak on their work. Took my set of vossen cvt wheels in to just get a estimate of fixing the curb rash on all of them and one that was badly damaged and had a slight bend. Right after they gave me a price which was great for fixing all four wheels and the bend. I stated I had an appointment at 3:00 pm and it was already 11:50 am and asked to set something up on Monday, he assured me he could get me in and out in time and the work would be to the best quality so I accepted. Sat in the lounge for a few hours and was updated as they worked so I was always informed. I can say I didn’t expect it to be as good and not noticeable as they claimed but to my surprise after bringing my car out I was blown away you can’t even tell the wheel was ever damaged and looks brand new! Ali is great at what he does and I’d bring my car back here anytime though I don’t plan on messing the wheels up again lol. Made it to my appointment on time and at a great price got my wheels fixed saving me money on purchasing a new wheels or set all together.

I was approaching the end of the lease on my Audi 8L and took a good look at my wheels. Man, they were ugly. 3 ½ years of dealing with curbs had taken its toll. I knew that Audi would hit me up for at least a couple of grand at turn-​in so I thought it best to have them refinished … if it was possible. As I often do, I turned to Unilocal!for guidance and came across A+. I needed the work to be done quickly because in two days the inspection service for Audi was coming to look over the vehicle. I phoned Ali Shaflei, discussed the situation with him and sent him photos of the wheels. We met a couple of hours later, he confirmed his estimate and told me the car would be ready the next day. When I got back to A+ to pick up the car — which was ready ahead of the promised time — I could not believe my eyes. I would have thought the wheels were new. Today Audi’s inspector came by, looked the car over and couldn’t find a thing wrong with it, and he took a close look at those rims as well as photos. Amazing. It’s great to find a service provider, especially an automotive service provider, who does a great job, at a quoted price with courtesy and friendliness. Kudos to Ali at A+.

Did a good job on my wife’s new Explorer sport rims that I managed to curb. Friendly, no nonsense. Saved a bunch over buying a new rim.

After a poor showing the first time I went to A+, I thought I would give them another try. That, and the fact that I don’t know of many (well, ANY) other places that do wheel refurbishment. I needed refurbished rims for my 2010 Camaro SS – the stock wheels were flaking very badly and really needed some TLC.
Ali was not there, but I was recieved warmly by his business associate. He gave me a few swatches that had an impressive number of colors and I took about two hours total in dealing with him and picking out my color for the wheels.
I had a decent time until I was told the price for the wheel paint job would be ~$ 700, $ 800+ if I wanted a satin sheen on it. This was hugely disappointing to me, since I had expectations that it would cost around $ 100/​rim, and I already had a quote for getting them powder coated from Extreme Powder Coating in Lorton for $ 150/​rim. (You might be told that the heating process to powder coat your wheels will degrade the toughness of the metal, but that is untrue: the powder coating process only needs to heat the powder coating up to 350–400 °F, and only for 10 minutes, which is FAR below a temperature that would harm your wheels.)
Looking online, I can readily find NEW sets of wheels (powder coated, even, and in many different shades) for this car at that price, so for me it doesn’t make sense to paint these wheels. Very disappointing to waste my afternoon, but I guess I should have asked the price right up front.
My recommendation is to visit A+ wheels if you have a very specific wheel color in mind that can’t be found online, because (at least for my vehicle), it was not economically viable to have them painted.

A+ did a great job in getting the curb rash out of my Abarth! Very impressive job!!! Quick work, great price and an awesome outcome for me. I had the «rash» in three spots on one of my rear rims and now they look good as new thanks to Ali. I will be a customer for life (since I will probably do is again). From the online coupon THEY WELCOME you to use (find it on their website), to the professional and courteous manner of the way they treat you, I plan to recommend them in spades! If you’re on a tight schedule, call them early, tell them you need the car back the same day, and you can work from their comfortable (free wireless) waiting area. Ali and Peter (who deals with all the billing and appointments) are first rate. Great to see people like A+ Alloy Wheel Repair exist… you won’t be disappointed (and I’m EXTREMELY picky about my car).

A+ Detailing and Wheel Repair in Fairfax, VA took great care of my 2010 Cadillac CTS-​V for a great price! Previous owner had terrible glaucoma and it appeared that he rubbed every curb in Texas before I bought it from him in May. The road rash on the wheels was horrifying but it gave me an advantage to get the car from him at a great price! Moore Automotive, a performance shop in Fairfax, VA recommended A+ Detailing and Wheel Repair to me. Peter, Ali and Max are three great guys as well as businessmen! I am 100% satisfied and I will be bringing them more business very soon! Wish I could add some before and after photos but it appears I can’t!

Call up Ali @A+ based on other Unilocal reviews. All other wheel repair places pricing are now ranging from $ 170-​$ 180 for the first wheel. So, I decide to try A+ when our 2-​day old Abarth suffers the scratch from a DC pothole. Ali and his technician took car of the damage which is now almost not noticeable in normal light. Of course at super bright light and some angle you can still see the repair paint metallic grain and the clear coat shine does not 100% match factory hyper black wheel paint. But then again, this 5 – 6 times cheaper than buying a new wheel and remount the tire & TPMS. Check out A+ wheel repair next time you have curb rashes or pothole damages.

Ali was great, able to paint match 4 center caps to a set of aftermarket wheels. It came out looking very professional. Kept me informed and was very fast! Will use them again!

I love these guys! I flew over the grand canyon of potholes and bent an aftermarket rim that isn’t made any more on my 2012 Z4 which stuck me between getting it fixed or buying 4 new rims. I emailed in pics of the damage and they were able to take care of it on a Saturday.
They did such a good job that I’m having trouble finding exactly where I hit the pothole. :)

Bait and switch. False advertisement. Misleading sales tactics associated with used car dealership. I called on Saturday to ask about detailing services because I was getting ready to sell my car.
I wanted to sell the car private party rather than get robbed via trade in, so I figured detailing the car would increase the potential sales value. They quoted me $ 255 over the phone and I mentioned the 10% off on Unilocal.I also mentioned that their website said $ 210 but they said that their website was outdated. So in my mind I thought fair enough, I’ll take my car in anyways.
Little did I know when I showed up that the wheel and detail shop is associated with their used car dealership. I figured I’d entertain their offer since I’m trying to sell my car anyways. The kept me there for about 30 – 40 minutes while they looked at my car and asked me how much I was looking for it. I said minimum 15 grand based on the research I have already done with the condition, history of my car (1 accident), and saving me some time/​hassle. After doing their «inspection» they came back and said the car will need about $ 1500 in body work before it can be sold but «you’re in luck». Kbb (or comparable service) has come back with the car valued at 10 grand at trade in but we’ll give you 13,500 for your car! These people must think I’m an idiot. I just told them my minimum was $ 15k. He quickly showed me the car report without going into detail about what he selected to display the amount. Anyone who has dealt with cars before know that a car will be appraised differently depending on the physical and mechanical condition of the car so I’m sure he selected «poor».
He also mentioned that my car needed a ton of services at 80k miles all without popping the hood, which I mentioned I had already taken care of at 72k miles (car has 75k now). He then went to show me online postings of the same car that didn’t have the same sought after options, packages and color combinations but lower mileage from a private seller at a price point of 18.7k. Even though cars being sold from dealerships on the same page were listed at 20k or higher. (He failed to go over these) I told him that his comparison was flawed by picking the worse case scenario for my car and the best case from the car listings and I didn’t really care if he had to make a profit off my car. My whole point in coming in here today was to get my car detailed, so that I could sell private party and not to get ripped off on a trade in!
So his last attempt was to break down some numbers where he told me it would cost 1500 for the shop to do body work on the car and 200 for a detail. I told him that if they’re selling my car for profit they don’t need to make money off of any body work that needs to be performed. His justification was that the car services including the detail was contracted out. Hmm, in my mind I’m thinking, is this why the guy quoted me 255 instead of 200? Too much fishiness to go around for me to do business with. Sounds like a typical used car sales men. Time for me to walk out and make sure never to do business with any of their affiliated businesses. (Used car dealership, service, wheels, detailing, etc.)

Wow. I had a shop damage all 4 of wife’s Grand Cherokee’s wheels simply changing my tires. The shop offered to correct the issue and sent me to A Plus. Seriously, I thought that the guys at A+ had purchased new wheels in lieu of repairing them. My wife was similarly impressed.

A+ Alloy Wheel Repair should add another + to their name! I called a few days in advance and scheduled a convenient time to drop my car off. I was greeted in the lot and my car was immediately taken to the back of the shop. After a very short 65 min wait, the job was done and the results were fantastic. They had to point out where the damage was (curb rash), but I still couldn’t tell the difference. Simply stated, they did an amazing job on my wheel and if I ever need alloy wheel repair again, I’m coming back.

Ali did a wonderful job with my Acura TL wheels, I was stoked and impressed with his workmanship. I highly recommend him for you wheel repairs. I will definintely be using them in the future for any other curb rash accidents I do get.

I just had my two passenger wheels fixed on my brand new Lexus RX350 by Ali at A+ and I could not be happier!!! As I seem to be a curb magnet I have had work done from other places on my wheels previous to finding A+. Ali and A+ are THE ABSOLUTE BEST!!! The work he did on my vehicle is IMPECCABLE!!! I have already and will continue to highly recommend A+!!! I am so grateful to Ali and A+ for the beautiful work on my vehicle.

E-​mailed A+ through their website and quickly got a response with an estimate. After responding to the e-​mail I was able to take my car in the next morning. I was promptly greeting by the owner who was very cordial. He advised that the repair could take up to two hours but I was presently surprised that my wheel repair was completed beautifully in slightly under an hour. The tech had to show me where he repaired the wheel as it was repaired so well. Very satisfied with the staff and quality work and was relieved that my car is looking great again as it is only 3 months old.

Called around the DMV looking for a good Wheel Repair place and found these guys. Read the reviews and was impressed immediately.
I had experience getting my rims repaired elsewhere claiming to be a «mobile wheel repair shop». Though customer service was good with those guys, it certainly took a while to get my rims repaired and sent back to me (approximately 2 weeks). Plus, it extremely expensive since they needed to ship my 3 piece rims out to TX to get fixed.
Recently I found that my Infiniti M5 sport rims were bent and needed to go somewhere that could do it in a shorter amount of time and at a decent price. I called A+ and they told me to stop by anytime and no appointment was needed. I drove by yesterday around 4PM and had them look at my wheels. They found that all four of my rims were bent in some way causing my annoying steering wheel wobble when going 65mph+. Max (the owner) took my car in right away. He said it would take about a day to complete but when I told him that I needed my car today, he immediately got another worker to assist him and told me that it would be finished by 7pm.
I waited at their shop for 3 hours with my kids. Luckily they had TV and refreshments so that was not a problem. They even let me see their work progress throughout the repair. Max took time to explain to me what the issues were and what he was doing.
He and the other guy worked non-​stop for 3 hours getting my rims fixed. I had friendly conversations with the rest of the staff and was impressed with Ali’s knowledge of rims. Max’s attention to detail in repairing every little imperfection was also impressive!
By the end of the day, for the cost of one brand new rim, I had all four of my rims straightened to perfection. On my way home I felt a major difference!!!
I highly recommend A+ and will definitely go back there again. Prices are fair and workmanship is excellent.

Purchased a brand new, white 2011 STi in March of 2011. Took 3 months to arrive in the states after everything that happened in Japan with the tsunami. In June 2011, Husby gets a call that the car has arrived! Woohoo. So of course, I ask every day to let him let me drive the car. And one hot and sweaty ass July summer day, I do my usual promising and begging not to mess the car up and he forks over the keys.
So, OF COURSE, after swearing up and down on my life that nothing will happen, I park the car too close to the curb at work and curb checked the right back passenger side rim. WHYYYYYY! THIS CANNOT BE REAL LIFE. Naturally, I freaked the hell out. I ran straight into my office and Unilocal’d the crap out of rim repairs. I did mad research. On Unilocal,different forums and Google’d whatver I could find within a 25 mile radius. Despite the few negative reviews on here, I called anyway to make an appointment based off the positive reviews.
The phone conversation went like this:
Me: Hi. I need to make an appointment.
Max: Okay, well, we have an opening next Tuesday. (AKA… A WEEK FROM TODAY. Not going to happen!)
Me: No, I NEED to come in today. Like, RIGHT NOW! [I’m on the verge of hysteria]
Max: Uhh… Is that you pulling into the parking lot…
Me: Umm, maybe… And I will bum rush you in your office and plead that you fix my rim before my kind, sweet and loving husband murders me. You wouldn’t want that blood on your hands, would you?
Max: [awkward silence] No. Please finish parking and come in.
He didn’t have to tell me twice. I parked (without messing up any more rims) and ran inside to grab him and cried hysterically while I showed him the scuffs on my BRAND NEW RIM on my ONE MONTH old car (I swear. Only my dumb ass could do something like this). He told me to breathe, have a seat inside the air conditioned office and got me a cup of water to calm me down and got to work. I watched from the office window and desperately prayed to every single God I could think of that my husband would never find out about this.
About 40 minutes later, he waves me over and shows me the rim. IT WAS LIKE NOTHING EVER HAPPENED! He told me to avoid washing the car for 24 hours. No problem, I tell him and gratefully paid the awesome man and left to go back to work, a happy and sane woman again. And prayed again on my way back to work. That I would never have to drive to A+ again for rim repair.
Fast forward to TWO days later, I come home from work and find my husband washing the rims in the driveway. Yeah. WTF, right? Just my luck. I nervously walk up to him and the car and am all nonchalant, like. «Hey… How’s it going?» As he happily sighs and says. «Don’t you just love this car? I decided to wash just the rims because they had break dust on em. But the rest of the car is still clean.» Of course… of course! he would wash JUST the rims… I nod and quickly walk away before he notices anything weird… And go inside the garage, anticipating the freakout that would occur if he noticed the rim. Surprisingly, everything went off without a hitch. A+ did so well that even my car fanatic of a husband didn’t notice the rim. THANK YOU!!! I can’t tell you how much I love A+. And Max. I love Max for fixing my rim. Lovelovelove him!!!
PS: so… one day while I was eating lunch in the city in March of 2012 with my girls (8 freaking months later!), I got a phone call from my husband. «Is there anything you want to tell me?» I’m like. «Oh. Shit. Um. I’ll talk to you when I get home…» So, I go home and of course, the dreaded day I’ve always feared has finally come. He points to the rim and is like, «Did you do this?» I’m like … «OMG. Fuck! Yes! I CONFESS! I DID IT!» And tell him the entire story. He listens patiently in amazement and then I whip out my iPhone to show him the pictures I took. As I do that, I look at the pic. A REAL CLOSE LOOK. Zoomed in and looked again. And look at the rim he accused me of curb checking. DAMMIT. The rim he was talking about was on the front DRIVER side. I didn’t do it! And I just outed myself and confessed when I didn’t have to. Because remember, I had messed up the passenger side rim? But I deserved that. I finally was able to confess and get that shit off my shoulder. And you know what? He laughed about it all. He couldn’t believe I would go thru all that trouble. Well I did. And I told him. «That’s how I know I didn’t do the driver side.» He said, «How?» I’m like … «Because I would have gone back to A+ and gotten it fixed without your ass knowing, AGAIN.»
So now, it’s a story we tell all our friends because everyone knows how car-​crazy my husband is. And it’s funny as hell. We’ve since had 2 friends go to A+ for rim repair based off my experience. And only NOW, can I finally write this review to thank A+. Because I finally accidentally confessed to my husband that I did it. LOL.

Came here a few months back to get my rim on my new car repaired which was scratched at a car wash. Everything was okay, although the repair job wasn’t that great since you could still see the sanding which the worker (who was the owner) had done. It was ok, but it looked a lot better than the scratch so I dealt with it.
So a few months go by (approx. 7) and the portion which was repaired is now peeling off. Called the owner and the response to me was, we only warranty for 6 months. Makes sense to have a 6 month warranty if they are going to do a crap job with crap products. If you want a temporary fix to deal with the same stuff again, feel free to go here.
