My 20 year old heating system finally failed and needed to replaced. I called 3 firms and selected B&B. The heating unit price was competitive but best of all because I had a service contract I saved big time on the labor. This put it over the top when compared with the other firms. B&B technicians are very professional, clean-up after themselves and polite. I like the fact that for the past couple of repairs it is the same technicians coming to the house for both the routine maintenance as well as this repair.

I really wasn’t sure what to say about B&B. My initial experience with the company was pretty horrid, as the tech incorrectly diagnosed the problem, made a cheap and improper repair, spent a ton of time in his car and then held a 300 and some dollar bill over my head while pushing a service contract. As soon as he left I called B&B back who to their credit sent over two additional techs late evening to get me a proper diagnosis and quote. Also to B&B credit, without getting into specific details, they made things relatively right in the end with some gentle prodding. This might not be the first company I recommend, but they do seem to have some hard working honest folks as well.

I’ve been with B&B for several years. I have found their receptionists, technicians, and especially their their managers, Chris and John to be very friendly, responsive, and professional. I had an issue with a thermostat as to wether or not it needed to be replaced. After some miscommunication, Chris came out within 2 days and installed a new thermostat that I had purchased at no extra charge. He then called back the next day to make sure it was still working. It’s the customer’s responsibility to pay attention and ask questions, but I am pleased with their response.

This is about a service by Jason, from the Fairfax location, on Monday 12÷1÷2014, which totaled $ 111.95 for absolutely zero legit work. We had zero heat and it was going to be a low of 36 °F. We called because we needed help with getting ahold of a part for the heater. We told them the part needed before their worker came. This was the SOLEREASON we called because we needed easy access to this part so we could have heat THATNIGHT. So it’s not so much the installation or repair we needed help with, but it was their easy connections in getting parts. ***The expectation was clear that he would walk in with this part and do the repair so we could have heat. Otherwise, we would’ve ordered it on our own and done the work on our own! But that would’ve been 5 – 10 shipping days. Needless to say, their worker showed up WITHOUT the part. From there, their worker quoted $ 322.74 for getting the part. This is without labor and they would even pass on the cost of shipping to us. Okay, WTF. Where did that markup come from? This part is $ 89.92 on Amazon, and $ 49 if we buy it in person from R.E. Michel Company, Inc. Before he left, he took out the filter. Why I have no clue. This is the portion I titled: fake work. So he charged us $ 111.95 for 1. coming over, 2. NOT bringing the part we asked for, 3. randomly walking around the outside of our house, 4. randomly pulling out our filter, 5. doing fake work with an air flush, 6. quoting $ 322.74 for something that costs only $ 49 if we buy it ourselves. So skeezy. My dad is ordering the part from R.E. Michel Company, Inc. and completing the repair.
