Batteries Plus Bulbs

Best selection of obscure batteries & super helpful workers. I was in & out of the store in under 3 minutes with all my random battery needs. I’ve been there twice with great success. Prices are great as well.

Good: The store had the «rare» battery I needed in a pinch. The guy there seems to have good knowledge of the products sold at the store and is passionate about them.
Bad: The store could work on customer service a bit. Products must be returned within 14 days of purchase date which is fairly strict. After purchasing the items, I learned from the manufacturer that the items weren’t the proper ones. So I attempted to return them.
I was able to return them but got scolded for already buying the correct items at a big box store and not his store. Then, I was informed that the items originally bought there were only slightly different from what I was told was needed. Finally, he told me that the store gets charged three times more by the credit card company for returns versus purchases.
All of this didn’t make me feel welcome or motivated to shop at Batteries Plus Bulbs — especially since I’m obviously partially sighted and really can use all of the lumens and directional light I can get from a light bulb to see.

There has been way too many instances where I have needed a battery in a pinch and this place has saved me, its a bit pricey but to be able to get the battery you need asap I think its worth it.
Also they have all kinds of light bulbs, I have tried LEDS online and they never look quite right so being able to ocme to a local store and have the bulbs placed in a lamp display before I purchase them is very convenient and time saver so I don’t have to deal with shipping one back for a return online and wait to be refunded.
The folks here are very honest and make sure you know what you’re getting before you buy it, which is a big thing for me.

Bought a battery for a scooter/​moped only to have it not work 2 weeks later… TWO WEEKS! I paid $ 60 for 2 weeks of usage since, of course, somehow I voided the warranty (according to them) no testing or anything, you just bring the battery in and they tell you the warranty is void???
Also the battery didn’t even fit correctly but lucky that was the case because the one that did is around $ 90 (I looked it up on the website) so I would have just lost more money… it’s a shame how they do not stand by their customers. Thanks for taking my hard-​earned money, not like I need it or anything.

While I will give them the fact that they had the battery I was looking for in stock, I had a problem with the battery they sold me. Two weeks later, the battery is dead. I went back to the store and was told they would have to put the battery on a 24 hour test. As I need the battery, this was not the fix I was hoping for. According to them, they post the battery policy in a sign on the store door, but who reads this. If you buy defective merchandise, don’t you expect to have it replaced? 14 days to the hour. No, not with these guys. They would not even give me a loaner until they test it. What battery test takes 24 hours? I used to work in the battery industry. This is a load of crap. Not only that, the store clerk basically just stonewalled me. No customer service. What is to prevent them from just TELLING me that the battery tests fine after 24 hours? What proof do I have that they even ran the test. $ 48.00 for a battery and I get this run-​around. No, I think it will be a very long time before I go into this store again. I urge you to consider some other place.

If you need batteries or bulbs and have any questions about them, do yourself a favor and skip Best Buy, Radio Shack. and go to this store. The employees at this store are very well informed and skilled at electronic repairs. I had a hand vac. with dead, non-​standard batteries and the guys custom configured and installed some replacement batteries for the vacuum for less than the price of buying a new vacuum. Great experience all around.

The amazing employees of this store have saved me time and money on many occasions, yesterday being just the latest. Over the years I’ve taken devices as diverse as a key fob, laptop, cordless telephone, cell phone and garage door opener. Each time the staff patiently opened the device, tested the battery and installed its replacement. They’ve always have the batteries I need in stock. Amazing service and a reasonable price.

We went in on Saturday night as they have expanded their hours on Saturday and Sunday. The sales associate, Garrett, was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. We were looking for several items, including phone batteries, flood light bulb, and other items. He showed us alternatives and explained the differences and features. We were very pleased with the products and service.

Don’t trust these folks, at least on the phone. I called this morning and inquired if they carried Panasonic CR 2032 batteries. The answer was «yes» in packages of two for just under seven dollars. So, I got in my car aand drove 16 miles to their Fairfax, VA store.
Guess what? The do not carry this Panasonic but offered a substitute I did not want. Caller beware.

Really bad experience.

Went to get a battery for a watch. I did not know if they do that service and was very glad they did. It is extremely fast (took 6 – 7 minutes and there was no wait). At a cost of only $ 8.99/watch, it certainly beats are former place at Fair Oaks Mall who charges $ 10-​$ 12/​watch and is certainly more convenient and a lot less crazy.

Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. They had the rare battery I needed.
